Agreed with TiaraPenguin, I think Kate has found her backbone and I for one am delighted for it. Grin

DandyPenguin · 28/03/2020 20:42

There’s delicious footage from the Commonwealth Service of Meghan spotting herself on the big TV screen in the Abbey and grinning even more, and Sophie noticing and slowly turning to look at Meghan. Meghan glances at Sophie, sees Sophie giving her a cold, hard stare, and quickly looks form in a way that screams ‘busted’. It is quite something.

Unfortunately I don’t have a link to hand, it’ll take me a while to find it.

DandyPenguin · 28/03/2020 20:43

Quickly looks down not form.

thenightsky · 28/03/2020 20:51

Dandy I remember that clip too. Can I find it now? Can I buggery.

ButteryPuffin · 28/03/2020 20:56

Must be part of the BBC coverage of the Commonwealth service. Can you remember Dandy if it was in the pre service bit or after it had started? It's probably still on iplayer. Lockdown may allow time to look!

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 28/03/2020 20:57

I’m downloading it now Grin

ARoseInHarlem · 28/03/2020 21:06

I wouldn’t be averse to seeing that clip if it can be found....(am overseas though so buggered if it’s on the BBC Angry)

The Times is now reporting H&M’s departure was hastened by their concern about COVID19, after their “friend” Sophie Trudeau was diagnosed.

LOL. So a case 4,200 km away was a concern, and they moved to a COVID19 hotspot. Confused

Winterlife · 28/03/2020 21:11

Use this, @ARoseInHarlem

ButteryPuffin · 28/03/2020 21:13

What, and not by Charles's diagnosis, someone they would presumably have spent more time with in recent weeks? Come off it. Rubbish excuse!

FiveTwoFaster · 28/03/2020 21:17

I’ve probably said this before but Harry snogged someone I know while he was with Chelsy. They were absolute strangers with no mutual friends or anything. So Chelsy definitely had to put up with a bit of that.

For someone who absolutely cast her father aside for speaking to the press in their most manipulative form, the amount their friends speak to the press and don’t get the same cut out treatment, is remarkable.

FiveTwoFaster · 28/03/2020 21:20

Also I can’t see Harry being that bothered by PW being more important than him? He’s always said no one wants the “top job”, he would have been able to have way more privacy than them anyway and less rigidity around his life. Much better to be a younger sibling if you have the work ethic. I think Anne and Edward have a really nice life - they work hard, raise their children in relative privacy and extreme comfort and generally have the best of both worlds.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 28/03/2020 21:25

Weird how Anne and Edward seem to have come out relatively unscathed and with a decent work ethic. Anne's childhood cant have been easy - although apparently she and Philip get on very well. Edward, the youngest, the least militarily prone - cant have been easy.

Haitch though: he seems to have got pretty much what he wanted all along (leaving aside the fact his mother died, following the coffin etc - which William seems to have coped with). He was allowed to be the younger, blue-eyed boy and everyone seems to think he was a loveable rogue.

Thing is though, loveable rogues need to stay put in order to have that kind of affection - cutting and running doesnt do it.

7Penguins · 28/03/2020 21:27

Woah, Dandy that video must be quite something! Would love to see it, if someone finds it, please link.

Loving that Sophie didn't shy away from 'confronting' MM about her affected mannerisms.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 28/03/2020 21:29

I’m watching at the moment & not come across it. I did forget though what a fab speech Anthony Joshua made.

DandyPenguin · 28/03/2020 21:35

I’m looking!

BelleharePenguin09 · 28/03/2020 21:39

Sophie’s face has rarely looked so scathing. I remember but would also love the chance to pore over it.

ButteryPuffin · 28/03/2020 21:47

If you do find it, Dandy, give us a time point in the iplayer video we can go to if you can't link..

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 28/03/2020 21:49

It's about 45 minutes in, if anyone's interested. Watching it again, Kate is really frosty, as is Sophie. I didn't notice it as much at the time. There's also an interesting bit where Edward is talking to the Sussexes and Sophie is clearly earwigging - a quick flick of her eyes gives it away.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 28/03/2020 21:54

My reading of the Sophie/Meghan exchange is that they accidentally caught each other's eye and were both uncomfortable. They both looked away quickly. Meghan knew she was out of favour with Sophie for sure. There was no mistaking it. I wonder therefore why Edward decided to be so friendly. Just natural good manners, I think.

StartupRepair · 28/03/2020 22:03

Well after the rush to marriage they will be having a nice long time in lockdown to contemplate what, if anything, they have in common.
Sophie is very close to and protective of HMQ. After the Jubilee event where DoE was sick and the Queen had to walk into St Paul's on her own, I saw Sophie being interviewed and saying that she nearly cried seeing the Queen walking in alone. A surprisingly unguarded moment.

DandyPenguin · 28/03/2020 22:06

I found it! A clip of it is in this thread.

They definitely didn’t catch each other’s eye accidentally. Sophie turns to look at her purposefully because she can see on the TV screen in the Abbey that Meghan is staring at it and grinning at herself.

tweet with clip

StartupRepair · 28/03/2020 22:10

Dandy that is classic. Great sleuthing.

BelleharePenguin09 · 28/03/2020 22:10

Sophie rocks. She was quite clearly eyeballing her. Haha

BelleharePenguin09 · 28/03/2020 22:11

Thanks for your sleuthing, DandyP. 🙂
