That’s okay, @DandyPenguin , we’re certainly culturally a lot closer to them than you are :) And we see the differences more than non-Canadians do (the lack of gun culture here, our socialised medical care, the lack of organized religion as a force in politics, our parliamentary system, etc). I do find the kids where I live are sounding more American than we did growing up, the accent is flattening out and becoming more homegenous. Again, I don’t think non-Canadians would notice.
I think Salt Spring still only has one traffic light! I can’t even picture one, but I’m assuming in Ganges. I love it over there, lovely small town feel.
I’m curious to see photos of HaM’s house when they’re leaked at some point. I wonder what he’ll do all day. The hills around LA are mostly pretty dry, dusty, and ... well, personal taste, but I don’t find them pretty. Big Sur, outside San Francisco, and Northern California are all gorgeous places, but quite a drive away. I hope he’s suited to sitting around a pool all day, I would not have thought so, but perhaps?
