5 I'm not sure where I read it but possibly the Times? Not specifically that they would be paying and I may have misinterpreted but that the move was partly because the gun laws made providing armed security easier. On reflection probably jumping to the wrong conclusion

Look, I know we're all taking a massive hit due to Corona Virus, but they've picked a terrible time to launch their new showbizz careers and attempt to become self-funding. Who's going to employ them at the moment or for the foreseeable future? Meghan can't even show off LA to its best advantage to Harry at the moment, as everywhere's in lockdown.

I read the bit about gun laws in the US making security easier, but in my understanding gun laws in Canada are far more relaxed than the UK, where somehow the RF are adequately protected by royal protection officers! Total BS imo.

Well lots of reputable newspapers and media organisations have reported their move to LA, not just tabloids. I assume some proper fact checking took place before the wider media reported it.

Well Omid Scobie (I still cant get over that name...) is one of her besties innit, so I imagine they are now waving at each across the pool.

What actually is the situation with LA and coronavirus? I've read a lot more about New York and how bad things are there. I would expect it to have similar problems as a massive city. Is it on lockdown?

LA now has a hospital shipped docked there so they are expecting it too be pretty bad.

Have not been keeping up with these threads as I should but a few thoughts occur:

Where is the money for the Frogmore refurb? Just Harry had an extremely well paid banking gig so why hasn't his hand been in his pocket for at least a token amount. Had anything at all been repaid the royal publicity machine would have made damn sure us plebs knew.

Are we still paying for their security? (yes, obvs) How much did the uprooting to LA cost us?

Meg's star might (or might not) be on the up but is anybody going to be interested in paying Just Harry for his one already well peddled tale of woe and tangled thoughts on climate change? Even if they are, for how long?

The world's rightly distracted at the moment but this isn't going away.

So, if any of them contracted CV seriously and needed hospitalisation or a ventilator, would they jump any queues, do you think?

As an aside i notice that a lot of the ' a friend said' comments about HaM are 'they had to do it because....' over-explaining and post justification. I've known people who do this in real life and I find it really annoying.. like you are always being pushed to agree that them getting what they wanted was the only possible course of action (and nothing to do with their wants at all).

I thought the point about Harry resenting being second fiddle when he’s the popular one rang true. It would explain the strain between the brothers. Harry believing he deserves equal footing to William and MM deserves equal footing to Kate. Being told they had to stick to protocol was something they couldn’t stomach.

And if they couldn’t stomach it then they need to renounce their royal titles. Like it or not they are not equal to W&K whatever they or their fans may think. It’s not a popularity contest!

There's no NHS in USA although there are schemes for disadvantaged groups. A lot of care is paid for through health insurance. Presumably Just H and M will have gold plated cover probably paid for by us indirectly though the obscure channels that comprise the royal finances.

They would simply buy the best care.

Can't help thinking that the wonderful countryside walks they were apparently enjoying so much won't be as readily available in a gated community under lockdown in LA.

From a coronavirus point of view I would have thought they would be far safer holed up on Vancouver island than in LA. Maybe the mystery owner of the Vancouver house thought so too and decided they needed it back before H&M became long term squatters.

I too feel sorry for Archie. He'll grow up with other hollywood showbiz kids. He'll be like a fish out of water. Their parents (Hypothetically Beyonce's, Mariahs, Diaz's etc) will be given cred as a result of their parent's talent, but Archie's parents will be famous for once having been royalty, which in America the land of merit, will not do him any favours at all, no cousins or aristocratic peers who may understand his position or have anything in common with him. Shuttled back and forth to the UK where he will not quite fit either. Best thing they can do is provide a sibling for him imo.
