On a more positive note, Meghan looks incredible tonight. That red dress is to die for. She’s really upped her game in the style stakes IMO.

If only this same level of awareness and attention to detail was given to their public relations and the way they conduct themselves as to their style and look

I do believe she would get the world adoration she (imo) wants so desperately. And H&M would in a few years be a real force of a power couple.

But no, she had to panic.

I know it’s not S&B but red bag, red shoes, red earrings with red dress and they all seem to be different shades of red. Not great IMO.

I love her look tonight but it’s a bit too embarrassingly like Harry’s military look for me, the top half looks like a feminine version of his outfit sans the gold braid. I think it crossed the line between paying homage and copying.
I’d have saved it for a different occasion.

She does look wow though. Well done her.

I found those shots of Kate quite strange - she’s not normally “papped” going about her private business, as these images appear to be.

Yes I found these a bit weird. Years ago she used to get photographed at Waitrose I think it was (maybe when they were in Norfolk?) but not seen anything like this for a long time.

It's a beautiful dress. I really suit red too but bet I can't afford a dress like that!

Do royal couples normally colour coordinate? I know they may avoid clashing colours but seems a bit cheesy that the other night they were both in blue and now tonight both in red.

Have to say I think they look great complementing each other's outfit.

They (she?) has clearly thought ahead about the visual optics and image they want to send. They obviously intended to make each photo opportunity visually impactful, knowing they'd result in tons of style and news footage. Months worth of instagram footage from just a couple of well chosen Royal events. M at least is loving it. H is too but I think for more sincere reasons.

With that in mind, how on earth does it work in your favour to quit?

I’d be surprised if they sustain that level of fame, particularly in the US.

Yes but will it emerge HarryDaylight without the drip feeding of Royal duties to give an air of 'sacred' celebrity (celebrity due to higher purpose) and legitimacy?

At the very least if that was the case you'd have stayed in for longer, really establishing yourself before exiting in a way that outwardly appears graceful and not mercenary.

I think tonight's pictures will have huge SM interest. They both look great ;though I think black accessories would have looked even better).

Will Harry be doing any speeches tonight or is he just attending?

They seem very direct...it will be clear. Meghan looks lovely in that dress.

These photos are their passport into Hollywood celebrity. That's how important they are, and the need to look like royal superstars. Hence the MUA, the personal photographer, the designer costume, etc. It's a pitch.

Love the dress but too many shades of red . Different colour bag would have been better .

Absolutely Harry, they have been planning this for months. While they cry over the exposure and rough time they have had.

Of course the Kate pics in Waterstones are not a coincidence and were staged. Every time H and M mess up then there is a feelgood story about William and Kate to balance it out and keep the royal brand in a positive light.

Look how many pics of the Cambridge kids came out during the Andrew scandal.

I don’t think Kate looks like she is happy to be being photographed . I don’t believe it is staged.
Not sure what I think of all that red really, it’s a bit much.
Harry looks strained and tired I think.

This is better than:

Being commonwealth ambassador

Meeting Royalty, heads of states and religious leaders from countries around the world

Being involved and having access to international development projects, foundations, and charities

Projects in the media ok limited but high profile (vogue etc)

Being given fawning attention from other celebrities.

Well they may get the control....maybe if they get the privacy that at least may be understandable.

Once ex royal and abroad, they'll still have some residual cache for a while but unless they can do something impressive it'll fade. And when they're competing against those who have natural charisma, confidence and presence from being at the top of their game then they'll have a bit of a culture shock.

Kate is frequently papped shopping or doing the school run. The British press don’t tend to print them as William hates it

Same with the photos of the kids out with the nanny. When I was on holiday there was loads of photos of Louis at the Natural History museum with his nanny plus Kte doing the school run with George and Charlotte that would never be used here

I think that one has been used as a “down-to-earth Kate” photo to contrast with “flashy” Meghan

All that red clashed a bit, I thought. And wasn't the braid a bit skew Whiff on Aitch's uniform?

Has she had something done to her teeth or something ? She looks different.

Not enamoured at all. The more these people strive for perfection, the more false they appear.

That mansion house photo will become iconic. It did ( for the aforementioned reasons) look like something from a Julia Roberts film. I do hope the snapper got a decent cut.

I honestly want them to just go now asap.
