Let’s strive to keep on topic and not engage with posts designed to disrupt.

Fronted by Tom Bradby - Harry's mate?

DandyAF · 01/03/2020 14:16

Yes Fox News is likely to be be anti Meghan. My point is it’s not the British press, so it can’t be included as evidence that the British press were making up stories about her. Not that you said that, but just in case that’s what you primarily meant as “rags” because the item you were responding to was in the Daily Express.

The article about Doria isn’t blaming her as such but in any event it comes from her friend. If a friend speaks to the tabloids, you can’t blame the tabloids for reporting on it.

FizzyLimes · 01/03/2020 14:17

Don’t know yet.
Bradby has Been pretty quiet since the “abdication”

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 14:21

The difference, Mummy195 and Encyclo, is that, unlike Harry, neither William nor Kate are hectoring everyone else about their carbon footprints. Even the award established doesn’t criticize others.

DandyAF · 01/03/2020 14:27

The screenshot from the documentary is of Elaine Lui, who is Canadian and in Meghan’s camp as it were. She is a gossip columnist and has smears been staunchly “pro” Meghan. She is friends with Jessica Mulroney and is employed by the tv station where Jessica’s husband is senior.

DandyAF · 01/03/2020 14:28

Smears? Hmm “Always”

Mummy195 · 01/03/2020 14:35

ITN Productions? As in ITV on Grays Inn Road ?

I know them cause I used to work there. They are a huge production - much like the BBC. Doing different productions for different entities including other UK channels too. Using different independent production teams all the time.
So are you saying that The exact same team that did the African journey will be the ones doing this one ? And that Bradby is the presenter ? Totally confused here.

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 14:36

@Mummy195 Fox News is not “anti Meghan”. MM is not exactly big news in the US, outside of gossip rags like US, People, and The National Enquirer.

Fox reporters do criticize Trump, although overall it is a pro Trump network. One of its anchors, Shep Smith, is almost always critical of Trump.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/03/2020 14:38

The documentary is produced by ITN productions

Well, that'll be fun when they syndicate it over here Hmm

Maybe that extensive security's needed after all ...

Encyclo · 01/03/2020 14:39

Shep Smith has left Fox News

Mummy195 · 01/03/2020 14:49

Winter
Not too sure why you would say MM is not that much covered in the US, when the internet disagrees. She is extensively covered in the US tv , just google it or see links from tweeters who keep us up to date.

Also why are you downplaying William talking about climate change when he told Africans to stop having children for the environment and then went ahead and had a third child.

This thread is titled “Harry & Meghan what they’ll do next”, not “what they did”, and especially not “what William and Kate did” Alm the last stuff has been discussed at length. . It’s just come back from a huge deviation into history, if you want to play compare and contrast Mummy, you should start your own thread.

SenecaFallsRedux · 01/03/2020 15:02

Harry and Meghan news has been all over mainstream media in the US of late. There have been lots of stories on the nightly news, which is probably the best indicator of high media interest. Considering that these are only 30 minute programs and with all of the other things going on that compete for time (corona virus, the election, the weather) that indicates a high level of interest. Most of the coverage has been positive.

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 15:03

@Mummy195 Because she isn't. I read several US papers daily, watch US newscasts (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, Bloomberg). PH and MM are not daily news stories in the US. The "big" stories, such as them leaving the RF were covered. The rest, not so much, other than CNN, as it is struggling ratings wise, and throws everything at the wall to see what will stick. US news is extremely US centric. I get US channels where I live.

I am seeing a friend today who worked on Suits for its entire run.

SenecaFallsRedux · 01/03/2020 15:05

The what Kate did discussion is relevant to comparisons of media coverage of Meghan vs. Kate, which is relevant to what Harry and Meghan might choose to do next.

SenecaFallsRedux · 01/03/2020 15:06

I disagree Winterlife. Just for one example, the Bon Jovi collaboration has been covered a lot, including on the NBC Nightly News.

DandyAF · 01/03/2020 15:07

@Winterlife OT but your lucky friend getting to work with Harvey. I hope he was nice to work with. I had a bit of crush during the early seasons.

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 15:13

@Mummy195 Please link a quote of William telling Africans to stop having children. All I can find is this -

“Africa’s rapidly growing human population is predicted to more than double by 2050 – a staggering increase of three and a half million people per month.”

That is far different from Harry, who gave a climate change speech in Italy after travelling to the event in a private jet.

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 15:14

@DandyAF, I never watched Suits, so don't know who that is. But I'll ask for gossip, in general and report back if there's anything interesting.

DandyAF · 01/03/2020 15:17

Hmm Seneca good try but quite tenuous. If as you imply, HaM will use media coverage to decide on their next steps, then it’s a shame for them that their independence hasn’t freed them from a wish to manipulate and influence public perception.

Encyclo · 01/03/2020 16:02

I don’t actually blame Meghan for leaving Archie behind. I wouldn’t trust Queenie or the Royal family either. I don’t know who Archie feels is his primary career. I’d imagine though Meghan and Harry wouldn’t plan trips without him if he appeared distressed when she or Harry were not there.

stairway · 01/03/2020 16:04

*carer

Winterlife · 01/03/2020 16:09

@Encyclo I will after Mummy195 provides a link where William tells Africans to stop having children.
