I wimped out of the other thread title I planned as I thought it might look goady.

But please let’s keep it as the reality-and-let's-avoid-idle-speculation-and-reliance-on-dodgy-sources thread (thanks Seneca!).

The brothers could be whatsapping each other constantly nobody knows if they do or don't as they're not going to broadcast their info

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 18:05

So they're all very close and M was lying when she said no one had asked if she was ok?

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 18:06

And H said he's on a very different path to W, he publicly confirmed the rift, no speculation as to their relationship required

LaurieMarlow · 24/02/2020 18:08

What a mess they've made. And it is their mess, no way could HM have agreed to their wants

Perhaps if The Firm had shown more support for them against the press it wouldn’t have come to anything like this.

And Harry never went to Balmoral anyway, hadn’t for years and years.

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 18:16

Did the RF intervene for Diana or Fergie? Or Kate for that matter. H and M handled it themselves with their lawsuit anyway

But I think the media is a red herring anyway. They didn't like the protocols and restrictions in the RF. They wanted to do things their way and earn their own money, which they can't do while being part of the RF, it's much easier to just blame the media

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 24/02/2020 18:21

I disagree that the media is a red herring. I think it is at the very centre of this whole thing.

We are brothers. We will always be brothers.
“We are certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him as I know he will always be there for me.
“We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we are so busy but I love him dearly.
“The majority of the stuff is created out of nothing but as brothers, you know, you have good days, you have bad days.”

That is the quote in full. I could say the say about my sister and we're not in the middle or a rift 🤷‍♀️

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 18:30

Why issue a lawsuit then leave anyway if they actually wanted to be in the UK? They got the wedding and the profile then tried to utilise the goodwill generated on the successful African tour which backfired spectacularly and were then out like a shot

Roussette · 24/02/2020 18:30

^ This. No one knows. Not even posters on here. They could be on the phone a lot for all we know.

So they're all very close and M was lying when she said no one had asked if she was ok?

Who knows who she meant when she said that. I didn't for one minute think she was referring to W&K. And you'd only think that if you had a downer on them anyway. I found her interview quite moving but I doubt anyone who can't stand her, would.

What gets me is... every single word they say is dissected and turned into some sort of negativity. Every single word. If you are looking for the worst, you will make it bad. I don't. I like to think positive about people. Always have. And AFAIC he is protecting his family and that's it..

Encyclo · 24/02/2020 18:30

God, typo central. Apologies!

PortiaCastis · 24/02/2020 18:54

I'd be on to the solicitor quick sharp if a gutter newspaper published a letter I'd written and therefore have copywright of, or if they'd hacked my phone, these actions are illegal and newspapers are not above the law. The Sun is having to pay out millions in compensation and are in the red because of such unlawful actions.

CallmeAngelina · 24/02/2020 19:08

I can't remember what the outcome of that discussion was with regard to who owns a letter, the author or the recipient.
Thomas Markle seems to think it's his now, as it was sent to him. But perhaps the lawsuit is based upon the allegation that the letter was cropped to show a different perspective.
Who knows, but maybe it will all come out in court. Personally, I hope it is dropped, because frankly it's none of our business and changes nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Samcro · 24/02/2020 19:26

What a shame this thread has gone rather negative.
I do wonder if the brothers have really fallen out, or are just going through that thing that happens when you have young children. Different parenting styles can cause fall outs.
I also wonder if one of the reasons they left is because in the future Pw willbe in charge and I can't imagine it would be much fun for PH to have to do what he tells him. So maybe getting out now is a way of becoming more independent, just my random musings.

LaurieMarlow · 24/02/2020 19:26

The lawsuit is really important. It’s about far more than the couple and goes right to the heart of the appalling state of the press in this county.

Me too

PortiaCastis · 24/02/2020 19:46

Very interesting link Laurie gives a lot of food for thought.

DaveCoaches · 24/02/2020 19:54

Tom Bradby says it was his idea to go more personal in the documentary.

What a shame this thread has gone rather negative.

Agreed. I don’t care what happens on other threads, I don’t read them but I would like this thread to remain positive.

It's a public forum

Roussette · 24/02/2020 20:08

It's a public forum

Yep. Think we know that! But anything positive was never welcomed on the other threads. In fact we were called names and told to be ignored!

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 20:08

Tom Bradby says it was his idea to go more personal in the documentary.

They clearly agreed with him and went along with it. I feel that was the real turning point for them as far as public opinion went, they came across as so tone deaf

Roussette · 24/02/2020 20:16

Isn't it weird how we can all have different views? I felt totally the opposite. I felt for them

DaveCoaches · 24/02/2020 20:17

I never said they didn’t. Christ you lot could start an argument in an empty room. Hiding the thread now as I can’t be bothered with any of this.

It’s been great chatting with the people who went with the spirit of the thread, so thanks to everyone who did Smile

I loved that speech Meghan gave in South Africa. It was powerful and emotional. Harry looking on with such love and pride.

What's not to like?

LaurieMarlow · 24/02/2020 20:18

It’s bollocks anyway. The haters had been criticising their every move for months and months before that.

Roussette · 24/02/2020 20:21

Don't go DaveCoaches! You're a positive force in amongst this irritating negativity Smile
