I wimped out of the other thread title I planned as I thought it might look goady.

But please let’s keep it as the reality-and-let's-avoid-idle-speculation-and-reliance-on-dodgy-sources thread (thanks Seneca!).

About 6.5 hours Dave we're meant to be on a fast train but we've encountered delays so pot luck when we get back, never mind it's worth it. Smile

YgritteSnow · 23/02/2020 23:56

Because didn't you want people to ignore the SCOWLS

Scolds.

WinnieTheW0rm · 24/02/2020 06:13

"William and Kate aren't attending Invictus "but it's not a snub" according to the Mail."

Presumably because the only one attended by Royals in addition to PH was the one held in UK, not the subsequent one (or immense next one) overseas. Bit like how a Princess Anne, as IOC, goes to all Olympics, but other Royals went to London 2012.

Cerseirys · 24/02/2020 07:32

I don't think the Cambridges have ever attended an Invictus event! Trust the Mail to try and stir things up. Some people will believe them though...

Samcro · 24/02/2020 07:39

just to clarify. I was talking about the online bullying of M&H.

Encyclo · 24/02/2020 07:49

They went to the 2014 one. I think it would be very good optics if they went to this one.

Cerseirys · 24/02/2020 07:53

Oh I stand corrected then @Encyclo. In that case I agree that them attending would be good PR for all parties involved. The Cambridge PR machine is in overdrive but they are running the risk of making it all look a bit obvious.

RoseAndRose · 24/02/2020 07:55

I don't think attending an article verseas event when no Royal has been to the overseas versions wouid look right at all. It wouid look as if they felt the need to keep,an eye in him in a way they never did before

Roussette · 24/02/2020 07:57

I'm here for the positivity! Go H&M, you will never be left in peace over here. Team H&M Grin

Roussette · 24/02/2020 07:59

I think what Harry did with Invictus was wonderful. A bit like his Dad with Princes Trust, that's fantastic too. I know someone whose life was transformed decades ago because of Princes Trust

WinnieTheW0rm · 24/02/2020 08:01

'They went to the 2014 one'

That was the one in London being. No other Royal than PH has attended one overseas. I do not think this wouid be the right moment to change things. It wouid look like tmuscling in.

I'm more than happy to see PH and MM carry on with their patronages un unchanged form

CallmeAngelina · 24/02/2020 08:33

I agree 100% that what Harry has done with Invictus is brilliant - and also his other ventures.
That is why this is all so sad, and so many people feel let down because they fear that it has all changed; he has changed. I honestly hope that he is able to continue those good works in the future.

Rhubarbisevil · 24/02/2020 08:48

I went past H&M yesterday and thought of H&M. Bit odd really.

peridito · 24/02/2020 08:52

Samcro Thanks for clarifying that your post wasn't referring to any alleged bullying on the happy for H and M threads .

LaurieMarlow · 24/02/2020 09:32

That is why this is all so sad, and so many people feel let down because they fear that it has all changed; he has changed.

Those people need to think long and hard about their own role in creating that change.

Every time they clicked on one of Piers Morgan’s hate and lie filled tirades against him and his wife. Any time they added their tuppence worth in the comments. Any time they criticised his wife for innocuous pursuits like bump touching and avocado eating. Every time they pulled him to bits for doing exactly what the royals have always done.

Every time they treated him, the woman he loves and his son as playthings, not actual people with feelings and fragile mental health like the rest of us.

Because yes, all that shit is going to change a person for sure.

TheMustressMhor · 24/02/2020 10:04

I had a different interpretation of the "bullying" comment, but so what?

PortiaCastis · 24/02/2020 10:11

Exactly *Laurie, people really do need to look at themselves and their contribution to the onslaughts of hate, and wonder if they'd like that awful personal destruction aimed at themselves. Still I'm really hoping that nasty bitch Piers Morgan gets a hefty lawsuit which is so richly deserved it's about time he got back in the playground and picked on someone else anyway.

We got home about 2.30am Dave epic trip but as I said well worth it, OH left for work at 8 absolutely knackered though.

katiegoestoaldi · 24/02/2020 10:17

It's likely that the Invictus team are worried about being dropped same as the National Theatre. I don't think M could have been very upfront about her plans when she dropped in on the NT during her flying visit to the UK

DaveCoaches · 24/02/2020 10:29

Today will probably feel very long Portia!
But glad you had a fantastic time.

Sorry, but for most of us that is insulting and patronising. And particularly so for those who've always championed and admired him/them. And of course, the beneficiaries of their charities.

LaurieMarlow · 24/02/2020 10:40

Sorry, but for most of us that is insulting and patronising

So you don’t want to think about / account for your own actions. Interesting. Says a lot.

I very much doubt the charity beneficiaries were frothing at the Piers Morgan articles and filling social media with bump touching criticism.

CallmeAngelina · 24/02/2020 10:46

So you don’t want to think about / account for your own actions. Interesting. Says a lot.
Eh? What ARE you on about? What "actions?" You don't know me or what I think about the likes of Piers Morgan.

Encyclo · 24/02/2020 10:46

👏👏👏. There is an absolute disconnect at play IMO. Posters trash them 24/7 for entertainment and for the most innocuous of reasons. Then they wonder why they're leaving, what Harry has "changed". These are human beings. To paraphrase Caroline Flack, their pain is not entertainment.

TheMustressMhor · 24/02/2020 10:48

I don't think M could have been very upfront about her plans when she dropped in on the NT

That's because she didn't actually know what her plans were, until the Queen told her what she was and was not permitted to do. You'd think PH would have advised her, though.
