I wimped out of the other thread title I planned as I thought it might look goady.

But please let’s keep it as the reality-and-let's-avoid-idle-speculation-and-reliance-on-dodgy-sources thread (thanks Seneca!).

Don’t get me wrong. I think M&H have handled the situation badly (and disrespectfully), I don’t agree with their initial demands and I think that their PR machine is such a train crash that it is funny. I think I have outlined this in other places. And I make (sometimes less appropriate) jokes about it.

I also happen to think that MM is beautiful, I love her wardrobe (expensive or not), I think baby Archie is beyond cute and I hope that the three of them lives happily ever after. Hopefully with another baby. They would make a super cute family of four.

rockingchaircandle · 27/02/2020 14:32

Graceful I can see your first point, and disagree respectfully Smile and I wholeheartedly support your 2nd - that's lovely, I'm all for happiness!

Encyclo · 27/02/2020 14:39

Hippo, I'm absolutely fine with everything you just said. I disagree (a bit), with the first part, but it's even nicer that you defended them when you feel that way.

SenecaFallsRedux · 27/02/2020 15:13

Baby Archie is a total bundle of cuteness. I have never seen a baby who looks so much like both parents, who themselves don't look much alike at all.

Roussette · 27/02/2020 15:25

graceful I agree. I think Meghan is beautiful too and love the way she dresses. I just prefer her style to Kate's. Although Kate can look gorgeous too... I just find MM's style a bit more interesting.

Gorgeous pics of Harry on the Rebound Therapy session's FB

Thanks to Alliwantisagoodnightsleep of she's on this thread

I agree with Hippo, both points.

I do generally support the idea of a royal family. Seeing some of the people who have been elected president elsewhere from time to time I don't think we have come off too badly in recent generations. However I do think they all need to think a bit more carefully about the costs and levels of ostentation. I also think they need to be much more careful about how they behave, and I am thinking mostly about PA.

I am sad that M&H decided that they needed to withdraw but I also don't think it is reasonable that all members of the extended royal family should be expected to live within the confines of protocol etc. I can understand why they wanted more control over their own lives but I am not really comfortable with some aspects of the way it has been done.

Most of all I am uncomfortable with the endless stream of sources and friends and in as much as much of the information from these has turned out to be broadly accurate it has left it open to the media to speculate and comment in ways that are not helpful and have sometimes been downright spiteful.

TheMustressMhor · 27/02/2020 16:01

Surely it is utterly irrelevant how beautiful you think MM is? Or KM?

What does it matter?

Butterymuffin · 27/02/2020 16:05

Or how well either woman is dressed, given that yesterday it was being said that commenting on dress, its costs, how it looked etc was playing into misogynistic criticism.

rockingchaircandle · 27/02/2020 16:09

The thread's about happiness, of course beauty can be appreciated without misogyny Smile

Samcro · 27/02/2020 16:15

the Rebound photos are lovely.

TheMustressMhor · 27/02/2020 16:19

I do not think that the value of women ought to depend on their alleged beauty.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/02/2020 16:20

Hear , hear . A woman is more than her sum of parts!

drina27 · 27/02/2020 16:24

The Rebound photos are very charming but I regard the whole thing, and these photos in particular, as damage limitation and PR.

TheMustressMhor · 27/02/2020 16:25

So do I, drina27.

Clever marketing, really.

Samcro · 27/02/2020 16:25

proves the point that whatever they do, they will still be ripped apart.

LaurieMarlow · 27/02/2020 16:26

I do not think that the value of women ought to depend on their alleged beauty.

I don’t think anyone’s saying that.

Roussette · 27/02/2020 16:27

Surely it is utterly irrelevant how beautiful you think MM is? Or KM?

FFS. You sound so sour about everything. Look at the thread title, this is a happy thread for them and I think she looks beautiful, and I like her style. What the heck is wrong with that? And incidentally, I obviously don't think that is the total value of MM. It was just a comment I made and shall continue to do so, if I so want.

If you don't like comments from one woman thinking another woman is beautiful, why don't you do what was a big thing on the other threads. SOB.

TheMustressMhor · 27/02/2020 16:27

Also, rocking, beauty is subjective.

Just because you think MM is beautiful, others may not agree.

Surely we, as women, have moved on from the notion that women only have value if they are deemed to be beautiful?

That really is a misogynistic and dated POV.

TheMustressMhor · 27/02/2020 16:28

What point does it prove, Samcro?

Roussette · 27/02/2020 16:29

Ahhh... right.... so we're not allowed to mention someone looks beautiful. Didn't realise.

Where the heck has anyone said that is their only value???

PortiaCastis · 27/02/2020 16:44

I think Meghan is beautiful so does my fiancé, I really hope she and her little family will be very happy away from the circus.
Did the OP ever come back to the thread ?

rockingchaircandle · 27/02/2020 16:51

Hi, Mustress, you mentioned my name -do you need attention? Wink

Also, rocking, beauty is subjective.
This is true.

Just because you think MM is beautiful, others may not agree.
This is so true.

Surely we, as women, have moved on from the notion that women only have value if they are deemed to be beautiful?
Many of us have, sadly that fight is nowhere near won Angry Sad

That really is a misogynistic and dated POV. It is! We must fight it... I'll have your back as soon as you find someone saying it!

drina27 · 27/02/2020 16:51

proves the point that whatever they do, they will still be ripped apart.

It does not. I regard my post as measured.

Butterymuffin · 27/02/2020 16:53

Who said anyone wasn't allowed to mention anything? It's about challenging an opinion or mode of discussion when someone wishes.
