Well here we are, another thread for those who wish to discuss. We are not nasty, but we do call account on what is going on, and and what taxpayers pay for.

Yes it’s been reported that Kate has Botox - her Dr was trying to capitalise on it and got shut down I think. (If what I read is true!)

mrscampbellblackagain · 10/02/2020 06:13

Kate doesn't look to me at the moment as if she is having botox - there seems to be a lot of movement in her forehead currently.

GoFiguire · 10/02/2020 06:51

Well, it was a jolly good job MM didn’t present the Best Picture Oscar.

Poppyfields21 · 10/02/2020 07:55

A part of me did wonder if that’s why they offered them the job

kirinm · 10/02/2020 08:01

I don't watch or follow the oscars. Why is it a good thing they didn't do it? And also, is there actual proof they were asked?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/02/2020 08:09

I'm not sure Kate has Botox, tbh, at least not as a regular thing. Hair extensions maybe. Diana was the first to go in for that sort of thing. The men certainly don't seem to.

DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 08:16

I don’t think Kate does now, but I find it believable that she’s dabbled. I think this article has some truth to it.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/02/2020 08:16

Just googled to remind myself of the Kate Botox rumour and it was a Harley Street clinic that posted pictures of her on their website promoting one of their procedures (baby Botox) and suggesting she had had it. It then "hinted" she might be a client by refusing to deny that she wasn't. The Palace issued an outright denial and the pictures of her were taken down.

DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 08:18

Cross-posts. Yes, that’s it. I’m willing to believe she was a client. Would be really audacious of a Harley Street clinic to do that otherwise.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/02/2020 08:26

I’m willing to believe she was a client.

I doubt it, personally. They wouldn't risk losing her as a client if she genuinely was one. More likely they thought they could get away with hinting and found they couldn't.

DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 08:54

Yes possible. I do think she had baby Botox done though, whether there or elsewhere. I don’t think she has it done now though.

Blind Item #4

Despite it being a private event and earning in excess of $1M, this couple didn't contribute a dime to the security costs incurred by THREE countries and two local police departments.

I want my money back.

ajandjjmum · 10/02/2020 11:33

Totally taking the piss.

yolofish · 10/02/2020 11:45

I'll join the queue for wanting my money back with you froq.

Just a question, how do you navigate those sites? I only know of Blind Gossip, and the only thing on there today is about some old actor with a buggered knee...

Isn't this just the essence of the problem? They have big notions of changing the world and being known as great philanthropists and change makers but they expect to do it at others' expense whilst picking up all the credit.

The hypocrisy and hubris is staggering.

Perhaps the friends who think so highly of them would like to pick up their security bill instead of offering them private jets and luxury holidays.

TheNavigator · 10/02/2020 12:01

Isn't this just the essence of the problem? They have big notions of changing the world and being known as great philanthropists and change makers but they expect to do it at others' expense whilst picking up all the credit.

But again, how is that any different to William lecturing on diversity at the Baftas at all our expense? He is no more accountable to us than H&M - look at Prince Andrew doing all his dodgy shit while firmly in the royal fold.

I think M&H are like when the curtain is pulled away on the Wizard of Oz and everyone can see it is just a little old man. They have exposed the nonsense for what it is. But British deference to the royals is so ingrained that instead of recognising it, people are casting around desperately for other mediocre people like the York sisters to maintain the pretence.

Really, do those ribbons have to be cut and plaques unveiled? And if they really do, does it have to be by very average, at best, people who happen to have been born to a certain family? Does our country really lack successful people who have achieved on their own merits to such an extent?

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 10/02/2020 12:03

Same yolo I only know of blind gossip

yolofish · 10/02/2020 12:05

I suppose though that PW was at work being the BAFTA president, a role for which he receives no money.

H&M were at work - being paid for themselves. I cant imagine why an audience of 425 very rich bankers want to hear about the lives of a couple nearing their 40s, apart from being able to say they have breathed the same air as them. Some people are weird.

Froq · 10/02/2020 12:24

yolofish the blind above is from here:

www.crazydaysandnights.net/?m=1

It’s not as easy to follow as Blind Gossip and the writing can be laborious but do seem to have more blinds.

ajandjjmum · 10/02/2020 12:34

I cannot believe that anyone cannot see the difference between William at the Baftas and Harry and Meghan at the JP Morgan event.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/02/2020 12:36

Charities do get a tremendous morale boost from a royal visit. Actually, so do towns, particularly the sort that don't get a lot of positive press.

Who wouldn't rather be doing the sexy conservation stuff in Africa, but someone has to visit Weymouth on a wet Tuesday and talk to the people working tirelessly with the homeless and substance abusers.

yolofish · 10/02/2020 12:38

yy fleas. Some of their gigs are not the most scintillating to be sure... but on the other hand if you are interested in people most things can be much more interesting than they might seem at first sight.

OP posts:
DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 12:42

William would still get his royal stipend or whatever it is even if he didn’t talk about diversity or actually attend the BAFTAs. He’ll earn less from that than Harry is likely to by going private.

Harry’s talk at JP Morgan wasn’t philanthropy. It wasn’t a philanthropic event.

Poppyfields21 · 10/02/2020 12:47

To claim that H&M and W&Ks activities are the same is ridiculous and I think probably just goady for the sake of it. I can’t see how anyone can genuinely believe that

yolofish · 10/02/2020 12:52

cheers froq
