It's helpful if once you see a certain name you just skim past whatever they posted and on to the next. Doing so has made the thread way more enjoyable for me

I’ve decided to spend the evening browsing the Royal Collection shop and treat myself to a few knickknacks, if anyone else is going it also, share links to what you are buying.

My gripe on the trademarking is that if I Juliet Royal/ Royle of the county of Sussex wanted to be granted a UK TM of " SussexRoyle" I would be unlikely to be granted it or else have a lot of restrictions on use in deference to the monarch.

Meanwhile Harry who seems to have no connection to Sussex and can't be doing with old fashioned UK style of monarchy may be granted dispensation by the Crown. I mean really?

Normal rules need to apply to him. That's why the whole website manifesto went down like a lead balloon in many quarters imho.

Harry does have a connection to Sussex though, as it's in his title. (Now, if you want to do away with all titles, I can get behind that!)

And he was a born and bred royal. It wasn't something he chose, and seems to have been quite detrimental to him. So if anyone was going to be granted the right to trademark a term like Royal Sussex, seems like it could be fair. Almost like compensation.

@JulietJanuary what does standing on their own feet look like though? It's going to be hard to negotiate, but Harry needs recognition and compensation for the first thirty odd years of his life he spent working for the firm surely?

There is no justification for giving him legal intellectual property rights denied to others.
