A new thread in which to discuss what happens next in this saga.

And best wishes to mustress and thanks for her excellent thread titles.

Such a beautiful (or should that be handsome?) cat TheMostHappy.

I think it's great that more previous thread lurkers are showing support for Mustress, especially considering what she's going through today. I hope she's able to enjoy a large sherry when she gets home.

HarryDaylight · 24/01/2020 10:16

Morning all, I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed following these threads.
Please don't leave them TheMustressMhor and I hope things go well at your hospital app. today.

I was going to post a photo of my very vocal bengal cat, but he's asked me to respect his privacy and insisted on no media attention. Crown Smile

yolofish · 24/01/2020 10:16

Well this has started well hasnt it?

I would actually prefer that people just leave it now. I do recognise that I am not the thread police, but that's my opinion.

Here's a picture of a wet dog to mix things up a bit

That cat's expression is one of pure bliss and inner calm - I think I need to be more cat!

MrsDoubtTried · 24/01/2020 10:19

Amazing that any decent adult would anonymously pm another poster solely to be unpleasant. I would hate to live inside that head.

Mustress has been a great “threads host”.

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 10:20

For the record, I've not PM'd anyone.

I think it's easy to say something should be left, if you're not the one being targeted.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/01/2020 10:21

Sorry @peridito I wasn't actually including you in the group I have in mind.Smile

Looking forward to more cat and dog pics, they are very soothing!

SerenDippitty · 24/01/2020 10:24

I’d like to add my best wishes to Mustress. I also love the dog and cat pics.

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 10:25

@imaginarycat

You've not addressed the question I asked you. How I've been offensive. Can you confirm you're not trying to make out I was referring to cancer?

BowermansNose · 24/01/2020 10:25

I was listening to a podcast yesterday (the New York Times Daily), and they did a special episode on Meghan and Harry. The correspondent was arguing that despite the tabloid gossip aspect of all this, there is a deeper question about British Identity and institutions. He suggested that the pro/anti Harry and Meghan divide was well mapped onto the Brexit divide.

Does anyone else agree with this? Personally, I'm a remainer but not a fan of Meghan and Harry, but there is a Daily Mail / Piers Morgan element to the anti-Megxit sentiment. What do you reckon?

Butterymuffin · 24/01/2020 10:29

So are the pro Sussex people also pro
Brexit? Or the other way around?

BowermansNose · 24/01/2020 10:30

The other way around - the pro Sussex people are more likely to be young and think "good luck to them - screw the royal family".

Butterymuffin · 24/01/2020 10:32

Interesting. Like you I'm a Remainer who has become sceptical about the Sussexes, after being impressed with Meghan originally.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/01/2020 10:33

@rockingchaircandle

I interpreted your post what day do we wear pink? to refer to cancer, in light of an earlier exchange of posts on the thread. I am not the only one who drew that inference from it.

If you didn't mean that reference then I unreservedly apologise.

You haven't yet expressed any regret for it though.

diddl · 24/01/2020 10:33

Well I do hope it all goes well for them, although I think it's been handled badly & don't think that they should be able to trade off being Royal or think "screw the RF".

I think that Harry will be screwed without the RF tbh.

CleansUpDragonPoo · 24/01/2020 10:33

Brexit.. sigh.. Megxit.. sigh.. and double sigh for bullying..

But to mix it up even more, here's a pic of one of those who need cleaning up after

Harry & Meghan - watching and waiting (no.13)
peridito · 24/01/2020 10:35

Myimaginarycat mmmm you may not have included me in "that group " but plenty of others did ,including Mustress .

A lesson I think in attributing behaviour to people and then bullying them . And there being no evidence /examples of the behaviour they are being accused of .

TwentyViginti · 24/01/2020 10:38

Interesting. For demographic purposes...... I'm female, in my 60s, a remainer, and think H and M have behaved appallingly and let HMQ and wider family down. I feel they should have shouldered the royal 'burden' for a few more years, until they were established, and then had discussions about leaving the country once PC was enthroned, and more royals encouraged to do the ribbon cutting appearances.

peridito · 24/01/2020 10:40

@MrsDoubtTried if it was a PM then presumably not the the post on the thread by Rocking which myimaginary has seized on .

teddyclown · 24/01/2020 10:41

I'm just de-lurking to wish Mustress all the very best for today and hoping she'll join in when able. Attached is Rudi, my Hungarian Puli, hoping for a bite of my cheese sandwich Smile

LaMarschallin · 24/01/2020 10:42

There's been a lot of references to "Mean Girls", so I thought it was fairly obvious that the reference to pink was related to this clip:

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 10:44

@imaginarycat

Thank you for the apology. Can you now also take back your suggestion that nobody should speak to me?!

"On Wednesdays we wear pink" is a pop culture reference from a film, and has become a really well known meme. I have nothing to regret in making a jokey comment.

I wouldn't joke about cancer, because 1) I'm not a dickhead and 2) I have very personal reasons.

This is an example of deciding you know something with insufficient evidence and then acting spitefully based on it.

Rather than the witch hunt, anyone could have challenged the comment, and found out for themselves.

I can and will offer my opinion. I don't agree with a lot of what is said and the tone, but I haven't targetted anyone. I've offered opinions. I'm sick of being labelled and called a troll for disagreeing with others.

LaMarschallin · 24/01/2020 10:45

"There've" not "There's". Tsk.

CleansUpDragonPoo · 24/01/2020 10:46

Me too, @TwentyViginti, I'm a similar demographic and think if it all suddenly became too overwhelming for them - and quite understandable given the world press interest, strain of big wedding, family drama played out in the open then a new baby - they could have retreated to Frogmore or somewhere like Balmoral for a long rest in private while they sorted themselves out, rather than appearing to flounce off in a hissy fit.

But wishing peace and love all round, to RF, H&M and all the posters and lurkers on this thread.

phpolly · 24/01/2020 10:46

Wishing Mustress all the best at her appointment today.
And I am very sorry to hear that someone has been that cruel.
Can one report a vile PM to MNHQ?
