A new thread in which to discuss what happens next in this saga.

And best wishes to mustress and thanks for her excellent thread titles.

The TM documentary may be old news now but having just watched, think it is just all really sad. Besides whether he's telling the whole story/truth or not, it's sad for her too.

Couple things struck me. She came across in the videos as a really nice kid. He comes across as probably the slightly older father who genuinely adored her as a child. She wanted to move in with him after all. it's clear he felt sidelined later and definitely by the time she met PH. There could be a pretty big ego there. As there could be with Meghan. She wouldn't have been the first person to be altered by fame and success. The relationship between parents and children is something an outsider will probably never fully get. Blood is always thicker than water and who knows what another's relationship is really like.

I think the program was very soft on him... No difficult questions. He squirmed a little at the mention of first wife as if he wasn't comfortable discussing that. The program wasn't an interrogative - he was probably likely to pull the plug if the questions got hard.

I think there are big egos all round here (apart from Doria Smile). PH included.

Nighty night all - have decided to have boiled eggs with soldiers for breks tomorrow. With a small glass of ice cold milk.

MissEliza · 25/01/2020 07:08

I don't think I'll finish the TM documentary. All those home videos were getting boring. I couldn't help but think though, as others have said, that MM was clearly the golden daughter that her dad worshipped. Those kind of relationships are bound to go wrong at some point.

JeansNTees · 25/01/2020 07:45

I agree MissEliza. The dynamics were a bit off. Its never healthy for a child to be treated like a little god and I'm sure the lottery win didn't help. Her life seemed to be quite fun, private schooling, horseriding, dance and drama, fishing, at least one holiday and for all of that to be erased from history by PH ("The family she never had")? No wonder TM is bitter.

JeansNTees · 25/01/2020 08:07

Marple he wasn't exactly an older dad though was he? If he's 75 now and Meghan is around 40, he was around 35 when she was born. He was enjoying a good career and got 2 Emmys, oh and the lottery win. TM had a good run of luck in there, except for the 2 divorces. That has all changed!

Morning!
Mustress the original Thug Cat thread is in Classics, the current one in The Litter Tray, sorry I can’t link, on my phone atm.
It’s the best thread I’ve ever been on.

I’m sharing breakfast with an 8 month old, so it’s porridge with mashed banana in.

Reported rumours of MM wanting to become more politically active.
Just what the Democrat party needs, another rich wokie chastising the masses. Trump will obliterate them in November and they’ll be surprised again.

Duchess of York flogging homewares and jewellery

Perhaps a Royal QVC channel is required

GracefulHippo · 25/01/2020 08:28

I cannot believe the flogging of product on the back of the Royal name. It actually sickens me. I don’t think any of them should be allowed and the Duchess of York’s should definitely be shut down (coronet badges, majestic bed linen - just found the article at the DM)

Maybe I am old and grumpy (and haven’t had my coffee), but it is one thing when they are sold by the Queen and the income presumably goes to the upkeep of the royal palaces etc. It is a completely different think when private individuals are trying to make personal money from the association.

I would make an exception for Zara as she is an Olympic horse rider in her own right... and as far as I have seen hasn’t used any “royal”, majestic”, “coroner” items...

MissEliza · 25/01/2020 08:29

Joyfullittlehippo plenty of teenagers fall out with their parents. I've seen teenage friends of my dcs refuse to speak to their wonderful, supportive parents for months at a time.

MissEliza · 25/01/2020 08:31

@GracefulHippo I've just seen the article about Fergie in the DM. Who buys that stuff? Also who actually would want the 'Kate's Cuties' calendar the DM are giving away today?! (Don't judge me for reading the DM. I'm sitting in Costa and I need something to read with my coffee!)

TheNavigator · 25/01/2020 08:35

I saw the Kate's Cuties' calendar on Twitter and thought how touching it was that Will & Kate are pimping out their kids so young. I wonder why H&M wanted to get Archie out of there?

GracefulHippo · 25/01/2020 08:39

Kate’s cuties..., Now I have seen it all

BigGreenOlives · 25/01/2020 08:40

On sale in Chicago. Nothing to do with H&M financially.

The word Royal is just a word. They're all selling marked up tat to make some money! Makes no difference which Royal really. Can't see why you'd get overly hung up on who was selling it, or the name of their company.

LaMarschallin · 25/01/2020 09:05

I saw the Kate's Cuties' calendar on Twitter and thought how touching it was that Will & Kate are pimping out their kids so young.

I assumed this was produced by the Daily Mail, not the royal family?

In which case, if the pictures are already in the public domain, W&K can't do much about it. Except feel nauseated by the title.
As I would be if they issued LaMars' Munchkins.

Many prince Andrew jokes come to mind, all of which could get my post deleted Smile

rockingchaircandle · 25/01/2020 09:05

"Trump will obliterate them in November" now this does sicken me, it's terrifying! (And not really one that can be laid at the door of Meghan!)

Oh yes. Very much that.

GuytheBeagle · 25/01/2020 09:24

Morning All

Thank you for your good wishes about DCat. I think the thyroid medication needs adjusting as it has had a very immediate and dramatic effect.

This morning she is listless, not at all herself, and has developed a huge bald/raw patch on her neck ( a side effect mentioned in the leaflet.) My other two are hovering around anxiously. She is sitting all hunched up, and her tummy is gurgling. Sad

Feel sick with worry and vet doesn't open till 10.30. Have put a thread in litter tray. It's under a different user name, was experimenting and failed to change it back.

Can't face breakfast, so just proper coffee here.

peridito · 25/01/2020 09:29

The maintenance of Royal Palaces and residences comes from the Sovereign Grant which is money from the income of the Crown Estate .
www.royal.uk/royal-finances-0

I'd be interested to know where the profit ( if there is any ) for Royal merchandise goes .I imagine to a charity or patronage -the Duchy Originals stuff specify this on their website but I've not noticed similar specified on the Royal Collection site .

GracefulHippo · 25/01/2020 09:32

Guy, so sorry about your cat.

TheMustressMhor · 25/01/2020 09:33

Guy surely they have an emergency vet on call?

What happens when you ring their number - does it actually say they're not there until 10.30?

yolofish · 25/01/2020 09:38

Guy they must have an emergency vet? hope pusskin is ok x

OP posts:
GuytheBeagle · 25/01/2020 09:42
