A new thread in which to discuss what happens next in this saga.

And best wishes to mustress and thanks for her excellent thread titles.

Hello Parker. I think his body language has changed, he doesn't smile as much. I know he has always been uncomfortable with press but when on tour with his own press he was happy to be friendly and take pictures. Apparently this has changed according to the accounts of his royal photographers.
Of course I do not know if this is true, I can certainly see from pictures in certain online tabloids he's not looked himself.
Again, its speculation.
I looked pissed off at a family wedding photo last year, I'd been accidentally locked in a toilet with no windows for twenty minutes in a heatwave...panic took over. No one said since then I looked like someone's pissed on my chips!Grin

Parker231 · 24/01/2020 17:07

The press will be looking to get photos of him looking less than 100% happy as negative stories sell papers and many readers are taken in by the one ‘sad’ photo out of 000’s taken at the same event.

TheMustressMhor · 24/01/2020 17:11

Parker I think the fact that he was willing to show enormous disrespect to the Queen speaks volumes.

Wheresthebeach · 24/01/2020 17:12

@Roussette I disagree that MM has been treated more badly than the rest - Camilla, Fergie and early days Kate all had a bad time. I think some of it had a racial edge to it for sure but many have been treated badly.

We aren't going to agree on that, so rehashing with posting articles isn't going to sway me. Best we just 'agree we disagree' and leave it at that.

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 17:13

Is the disrespect he's apparently showed the Queen, just wanting to leave the Royal family?!

emzey · 24/01/2020 17:14

Of course they will be looking to get those sad pictures. Thing is, they did that sad interview as well. Nevermind of the consequences.
I hope they find a happy place, they have to be very careful now as to how they play this...
Because 'The Crown' needs a bloody good script in a few years😁

TheMustressMhor · 24/01/2020 17:15

I can barely wait for dinner tonight.

What's everyone else having?

7Worfs · 24/01/2020 17:15

PSA: posters don’t have to justify their opinions, no matter how emphatically demanded.
Also getting sucked into answering them same question asked for the 100th time makes for a poor thread.

End of PSA———

Nikhedonia · 24/01/2020 17:16

I agree 7worfs

TheMustressMhor · 24/01/2020 17:17

emzey I think I will have died before they get to this episode of the Crown.

One of my all-time favourite series, that is.

Especially when it highlights the Queen's relationships with the Private Secretaries.

I think Tommy Lascelles is a great character and Pip Torrens plays him so well.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 24/01/2020 17:17

Just trying to catch up.
So glad to see you back MistressMhor

I am cringing at the thought of an interview with Ellen. M really needs to stop all this self pitying stuff about her ‘pain’ and grow up. It’s sickening.

The photo of Diana posted up thread is awful. I have never seen it before. She looks distraught.

Roussette · 24/01/2020 17:17

Of course we can agree to disagree. Really not sure how anyone can think she hasn't had an appalling press, there are many examples, but there you go. I won't link the article, I just wondered if you'd seen it.

Nikhedonia · 24/01/2020 17:18

As an aside can anyone say why it's poor MN etiquette to 'tag' people on the thread?

It's much easier because I don't have to remember how to spell names etc and it's quicker, too

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 17:18

@Wheresthebeach

I think Meghan's press was worse than others (that racial edge was a large part and shouldn't be easily dismissed) but either way the point is it shouldn't be happening. To Meghan or to other projects or people! And therefore, wasn't just an excuse

TwentyViginti · 24/01/2020 17:19

Just catching up.

Markles & Spencers Grin

And the Duchess Mhor of Sherry Quaffing is back with good news, yay!

SunsetBoulevard3 · 24/01/2020 17:20

Nik
I was wondering the same thing. I’ve seen a couple of snarky responses to people about that and don’t understand why. It’s so much harder to cold the names.

LordOfTheWhys · 24/01/2020 17:21

Nikh I think it's just tradition that says it's bad form to tag posters. We didn't have tagging for so long that everyone just bolded names. It means tagging seems much more intrusive.

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 17:21

@7Worfs constant policing and ducking out of explaining why you've targeted/allowed others to be targeted is worse for a thread in my opinion. (This passive aggressive stuff is cowardly!)

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/01/2020 17:22

Glad to hear you're ok & bake Mustress

And glad to hear that everyone else is ok.

Pasta bake & garlic bread for tea as requested by DD.

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 24/01/2020 17:22

I prefer tagging too, it's a lot easier. I am not bothered by it personally.

hellsbells99 · 24/01/2020 17:22

The pink gin from Aldi is okay 😄

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 24/01/2020 17:22

The Sun Newspaper is reporting that the British doctor in Australia is rescinding the blockage of H&M's trademarked name:

emzey · 24/01/2020 17:23

I'll be honest, I've never watched the crown. I just read alot of shit, some bizarre but hey...its light relief. That's why I'm here.
Did you know we're not being visited by aliens but by ourselves in the future Shock
I know, the kids and husband pissed themselves laughing at that tooGrin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/01/2020 17:23

Bake!
I mean back. Must be all the food being mentioned Grin

SunsetBoulevard3 · 24/01/2020 17:24

Why is it intrusive though? I don’t understand.
