I don't think people have changed their attitudes en masse to the extent that everyone is rooting for failure. That could only come from a major rewriting of the past

There's some really flimsy evidence getting used here! Everyone knows Diana struggled. Finding a photo of her grimacing is hardly big news. Maybe the sun was in her eyes! If you want to refer to her relationship with the press you don't need to dredge up a photo like that.

Not sure why the trademarks are a problem for people. I thought we wanted to relieve the tax payers of the security bill?

The article says the reason for lodging the objection is not known.

So although this might delay when the trademark can come into use (because the processes take time) it's far from clear whether it stand s any chance of being upheld

So far it's just threatened opposition which delays the formalisation if the patent by a month at the moment. All depends if a formal opposition is registered, but would a Dr in Australia be so invested as to want to spend money on it? Or does he just want to be an annoyance and get his name in the paper? Its all very odd

Of what? The photographer who shared it was actually talking about the extent to which the press covered up the truth of the Wales' marriage from the public for a long time. All the published photos of that tour at the time presented a very different story. I'm not sure of the relevance to this thread but am just pointing out that your interpretation isn't correct.

It's the "royal" but isn't it, rocking? The supposedly wanting to step away from royal life/duties but happy to cash in on items branded royal. That's what we've all been on about. Setting up an independent business venture which doesn't rely on a royal angle- not a problem.

Why can’t they set up a Meghan and a Harry Sussex brand? And sell exactly the same stuff they have trademarked. Maybe their famous Sussex Squad will buy it, but it only has a shelf life for as long as they are tweeting / instagramming.

The thing about «Royal» is that it’s basically a thousand year old brand, which they want to monetise.
They also want «anyone but them» to pay for their security as they consider themselves Royal, but don’t work for the RF.

Imagine if someone had worked for CocaCola for less than 2 years, said “ok, I resign. However, I want to still keep my salary, and I’m launching a huge range of products called CocaCola Essex and I’m keeping all the customers and contacts I made when I was being paid to work for you”

I guess the powers that be at Coca Cola might have something to say.
Non compete clauses, infringement of trademark, ( I’m making this stuff up, as I’m not a trademark lawyer) but you get the picture.
It’s the absolute Cheeky Fuckery of H&M’s attitude.

I actually wonder if the reason they originally asked to be 'half in half out' was to be able to say later, when objections come up about funding them, 'well, we wanted to carry on working and contributing in some form but we were told no'.
