I hope I've got what everyone wants in the title of this, the twelfth thread in the series.

Rocking ,,,can you elaborate please as I don’t understand the point you’re making

rockingchaircandle · 23/01/2020 23:30

Right, so, once she looked like she might have been thinking about crying on a balcony. And Prince Harry looked cross. (Could have been literally anything; a row with each other, both upset about the same thing, a cold and constipation). Bluebell points out this is the only incident she's seen but decides there must have been lots of other stuff privately, based on nothing, and that was why she moved away. Then the next posters all enthusiastically agree.

Nobody sees any almighty leaps in logic there, or is the desperation to see this marriage fail too strong?

katiegoestoaldi · 23/01/2020 23:33

The only one I can see making leaps, completely bypassing logic in fact, is you *Rocking
*
I absolutely cannot see where you are coming from or how you're drawing a lack of conclusions

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 23/01/2020 23:36

Rocking I do understand the point you're trying to make, but you would have to do your research since as I said, it won't make sense unless you countenance the explanation proffered and since every time someone proffers the said explanation(s) as they see it, they get accused of being bitchy, best not bother anymore.

Rumboogie · 23/01/2020 23:39

Today Thomas Markle was exposed as having told a large and elaborate lie about Meghan, his past relationship with her, and about his past financial circumstances

Shares were available from at least 2005 as part of venture capital funding. Not all investors were super wealthy - some holdings were relatively small, individual investors usually holding common stock.

Presumably these are the shares that TM sold before the IPO in 2012.

It seems he is likely to be telling the truth.

rockingchaircandle · 23/01/2020 23:39

Senior Royal gets married. Before he's even married, they face huge intrusion, awful press and obsessive dissection of everything they do.
They have a baby. It doesn't get better. They leave the country.

People who have compiled detailed lists of whose family were invited, where the couple put their hands on each other, and generally been more than a bit obsessive are outraged and cry I told you so on public forums.

Then talk about what's healthy. (But can't be scolded/preached to themselves!)

Cuttingthegrass · 23/01/2020 23:40

Rocking thanks. Blimey based on a 1 second clip on BP balcony where she had strayed from protocol and H helped her remember she needs to face forward and revere the national anthem

To all the evidence of her undermining and castigating and ignoring and casting aside those no longer of use to her

Yup she is class and above reproach or discussion 😳

katiegoestoaldi · 23/01/2020 23:47

There is an awful lot of stuff that you're overlooking there Rocking. You have created a narrative and are ignoring anything that doesn't fit in with 'poor old Meghan'

rockingchaircandle · 23/01/2020 23:48

@Cuttingthegrass

Eh?

  • you agree with me it's a lot to base conclusions on a one second clip...

-then, I really don't get the next two sentences, apart from you clearly don't agree but, it's really unclear what you mean?!?

rockingchaircandle · 23/01/2020 23:49

@katiegoestoaldi

I can't see very much evidence that isn't conjecture. Most of the stuff that people are then taking as gospel is hearsay, or stuff they noticed when they saw them on TV.

katiegoestoaldi · 23/01/2020 23:50

You can tell so much from the presence and non-attendance of people at weddings and body language when it is repeated as to form a pattern of telling behaviour, that can be taken into account to paint a picture

By courting publicity, speaking out in documentaries (where the questions would be approved if not devised by H and M in advance) and issuing notices on Instagram and their website, they have given a very good picture of who they are and what they're about

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 23/01/2020 23:51

Yes well, please don't ask for answers you don't want then Rocking.

You clearly already have them all yourself

bluebell34567 · 23/01/2020 23:54

i think they were arguing/talking about something else at the back and it seemed she couldnt finish what she had to say, it looked like she was hushed and reminded to turn over 2 times. there are ways to say turn over, the way H said, it was a bit over the top, in an angry way and in public while all others there hearing it. quite humiliating with her difficult position in RF.

bluebell34567 · 23/01/2020 23:57

i wouldnt like my dh doing that to me one bit in that position. it is quite hurtful.

GoFiguire · 23/01/2020 23:58

Did the Piers Morgan thread get deleted?

Anyway, dropping this little gem in here.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 24/01/2020 00:01

He is obsessed! @GoFiguire

katiegoestoaldi · 24/01/2020 00:02

What's Steve McFadden done wrong? Grin

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 00:04

I've put forward my suggestions. The difference is I'm not claiming to definitely 'be able to tell'.

So you've seen

  • who was at the wedding
  • their body language (but not in person)
  • what they say in documentaries
  • that they use social media.

But then, you've interpreted it. You seem to think this shows you know all you need. But the evidence is very incomplete, and I think you may not be unbiased. (And I'm not going to count Blind Gossip!)

Disagreement with the dislike for her on this thread, just means you get shot down. Can you see that you might not know enough for all the assertions and speculation on here?

rockingchaircandle · 24/01/2020 00:05

Cold War Steve is brilliant!

Nerfballs · 24/01/2020 02:15

It's not exactly clever to predict that the marriage will go belly up now, is it? Divorce rates are between 40-50% anyway, and as a couple they were high risk from the get-go - children of divorce with unstable families, mental health issues (H), a previous marriage (M), in a new cross-cultural marriage with high-profile high-stress roles and a new baby.

Throw in creepy McStalker Morgan, press hounding and a public that seems to be rooting for them to fail and you may very well end up with exactly what you wanted and "predicted". Of course you could say it's all their fault for being horrible and entitled etc etc, or you could actually step back and acknowledge that it would take one heck of a strong marriage to remain intact given those factors.

It remains to be seen whether theirs will last the distance but it's hardly an indictment of their characters or how genuine their marriage is if it doesn't. Nor would it be evidence of any great insight or super special knowledge of those who predict failure - you're simply betting on the horse most likely to win. Yay you Star

Nerfballs · 24/01/2020 02:38

Also glad to see the narcissist stuff was pulled up on by MNHQ, armchair diagnosis is rarely accurate, helps exactly no-one and contributes to the stigma people with mental health issues face.

Read a bit of the Royal Narcissist out of curiosity this morning though and had to groan-laugh - it read like someone who's cashing in on a popular trope. As a journalist I can recognize a beat up when I see it. I have had a lot of fun applying his bolded interpretations to myself and my cat though. Every benign behaviour you can possibly think of could have an ulterior motive and it's been a fun exercise as a writer to interpret everything I do into a narcissistic framework. I even made boiling the jug sinister Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/01/2020 05:53

No new news on the original subject matter ( just pages of splitting hairs.....)

I saw this photo of Diana. It was the trip to Australia in 1983. William was a baby and Diana was only 21 years old. I think this shows how incredibly tough her first Royal Tour was for her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/01/2020 05:59

Anyway, I think that is probably going to be it from Harry and Meghan for a while. They are due to launch their new foundation this year.
Over the «holidays» when they were in North America, there wasn’t a peep about them in the press.

I think now that a Harry is back, there won’t be anything apart from officially sanctioned photos. IMHO he may well be / have been in thé thrall of his wife, but his dislike of the press is 100% and predates his marriage. He will definitely be keeping them at arms length.

AuntieStella · 24/01/2020 06:46

Nerfballs

I thought there were weaknesses in the Very Royal series you mention, because I read the Prince Andrew one, and he failed to recognise that 'conduct unbecoming' is a serious phrase (a sacking level offence for the military, possible with prosecution). Not everything readily translates between British and US English

That said, if it is all about looking at a whole series of behaviours before describing someone as narcissistic (not diagnosing with NPD, that's rather different) and then interpreting further behaviour in that light, the posts do make sense.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 24/01/2020 06:48

I think we forget how young Diana was. Images like that will make Harry even more determined to protect (as he sees it) his wife & child.
