I hope I've got what everyone wants in the title of this, the twelfth thread in the series.

metro.co.uk/2020/01/22/prince-charles-arrives-davos-electric-car-taking-private-jet-12105241/

so our previous thread title was handy for Charles

OVienna any news on that partridge?

MurrayTheMonk · 22/01/2020 18:50

Well I'm not gutted I missed the Downton threads. Bloody loved Cousin Matthew!

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 18:50

curlywhirly

Can you re-post that link from the end of the last thread?

OP posts:
Bluebellforest1 · 22/01/2020 18:54

Thank you, thank you! I was terrified (well perhaps not terrified, worried maybe?) that there was no new thread.

FlickingVees · 22/01/2020 18:54

Got lost in that last thread, so

Apologies for the late start... that ol’devil called work Wreaks havoc with my MN habit.

How is everyone?

Listen, it was unintentional if my nickname of “Merchie” came across as unkind to that poor baby.. I did say “poor baby Merchie”, as I really feel that they’ll use him now.. well, specifically Mega MerchAll (see wot I did there) will if she can slip away from the frog prince for a kerching pap run.

It’s too sad really.

For anyone who’s waiting for tests results, grieving cats, and thinking about Prince Charles silently bearing down on Davos in his leccy car with tufts of wild garlic wafting about, adorning his Alpine chapeau/ coronet, I hope you’re all ok?

GracefulHippo · 22/01/2020 18:55

The Minette book is great. A good murder mystery though, not a history lesson....

AcrossthePond55 · 22/01/2020 18:57

I'm in a hump. DH and I are NOT eligible to immigrate to Canada despite secure independent income (pensions), excellent health insurance (good in Canada), and 'semi-substantial' assets.

Guess I'll have to dump DH and find a prince to marry.

On the upside, we can apply for refugee status. In fact, refugee applications from US citizens increased 8-fold in 2017 over any previous year. There's a reason for that!

You could always marry Prince Harry after he and MM divorce.

Sorry - that last message was for AcrossThePond.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/01/2020 19:00

AcrossThePond does the reason start with T & end in P & also Brit slang for a smelly fart Grin

Alsohuman · 22/01/2020 19:00

Loving the new thread title. The Scold’s Bridle is an excellent read.

Haworthia · 22/01/2020 19:01

Bet Princess Anne does.

I was her bodyguard for one day. Beautiful skin and hair. Tough as old boots. (In a good way).

Good old Anne. Saw this Tweet screenshot on Instagram the other day and it cracked me up. Can’t imagine the younger Royals accepting a job like that.

No vitriol on this thread for Charles flying to today's meeting to lecture on climate change. Ah. Thought not .Hmm

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 22/01/2020 19:02

I'd start a thread to discuss that if I were you Smile

Very excited to try reading it! This thread is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Still waiting for the acronym @TheMustressMhor

The80sweregreat · 22/01/2020 19:04

Was it Pauline Quirke who played one of the characters in the bbc tv adaptation of the ' Scold's bride' ? I've read the book but a long time ago now and I've forgotten the plot. Might have been another Minette Walters book though? I'm easily confused these days and cba to look it all up. Dawn French was in one of her adaptations too.
She is a good writer but her books are never an easy read.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 19:04

That is good advice WendyMoira.

Perhaps the PP didn't realise that we are not discussing the Prince of Wales on this thread.

It's an easy mistake to make.

Jeez,, crispy I do not want to be banned.

The Scold’s Bridle is an excellent read.

Ditto.

FlickingVees · 22/01/2020 19:06

The cuteness.

How anyone could object to cats is beyond me... though having a cat sleep on your neck is a bit much. I was boiling last night...

The80sweregreat · 22/01/2020 19:06

I felt that was so hypocritical of the Prince of Wales to fly by private jet today as well!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/01/2020 19:06

Well Mustress it seems all quiet on the Western Meghan Canada front right this minute....

kinsss · 22/01/2020 19:07

Thanks for the welcome folks. Sorry my OH had a cat, or should I say the cat had us as his housekeepers, and when he got killed on the road I couldn't do it again. We both agreed. Sometimes sad to see pics of cats that resemble him. But on we go with the gossip etc.!

So where were we...
