I hope I've got what everyone wants in the title of this, the twelfth thread in the series.

SingingLily I have to report that I am already drinking the pink gin with Fevertree tonic.

It does not seem to have improved the taste.

Hmm

Yep, crack on. I'll comment when I fancy too. I don't feel the need to bitch about any of this family and I've no need to start a thread on a soap or anything. I just thought people could use fiction rather than real people for their therapy/ speculation/ obsessing!

Publicly funded doesn't equal open for abuse. That's how this all started!

Glad to see her mum is now copping for it again. Apparently she's been far too quiet to be innocent! Confused It's like listening in on the playground...

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 23/01/2020 17:26

I bet it’s not much fun to be the nanny...

I thought that too. I bet that NDA is water tight!

Roussette · 23/01/2020 17:29

What on earth is the matter with the Mum? I think she's behaved impeccably. Is it because MM is quiet today so there's nothing to pick on her about?

eggandonion · 23/01/2020 17:29

Who was the interviewer?
I thought the family group with tiny Archie was a lovely photo, with its variety of ages, just by the way.

A correction to something I stated earlier:

TM said that "She actually told me one day, and this is when she was angry with me, that over a two year period she'd given me $20,000".

I stated (more than once) that this was over one year. This is actually like giving him about $1,000 per year when she was earning $340,000 - $440,000 per year.

TM:
"The bottom line here is I paid for her college. I paid for her uni cards (?). I paid for her apartments. I paid for everything to get her where she is. I'm not saying she has to pay me back but I'm saying it's awfully picky and awfully small to be saying "I gave you all this money" when it's 20,000 dollars over two years."

katiegoestoaldi · 23/01/2020 17:31

They'll both be sitting down complaining how unfair the RF is and how come no one wants them to thrive

TheMustressMhor · 23/01/2020 17:35

I think you're right about that suggestion, WendyMoira. MNHQ wouldn't like that at all.

You wouldn't think it would be actually necessary to post such a warning.

This is a site for adults.

Thinking about the 'they owe me' comment. There are a lot of people who think that grown children should look after their parents in their old age like their parents looked after them. Anything else and they would be ungrateful brats. That opinion is rife in the older generations of my family. It is expected that the parents will be looked after when they're old. I'm not saying this is what is going on with TM but it's what that expectation would be in my family and that might be where he is coming from too

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 23/01/2020 17:37

I don't think Doria is up to anything. I think she's terrified she will get cut out too if she steps out of line. I bet she agrees with everything they say for a quiet life and to still get to see Archie.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 23/01/2020 17:37

@SunsetBoulevard3

I wondered if the remarks about the Markle nose were a sly dig to suggest Meghan has had a nose job. Or I am just reading far too much into it?
I think you're reading too much into it. I think he really would like to see something of himself reflected in Archie's features. Lots of GP love it when you say their grandchild has their eyes or whatever.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 23/01/2020 17:39

I don't feel the need to bitch about any of this family...

So what? And what's with the term 'bitch'? Assuming motives to posters, but you're not a SCOLD Plus (assuming) I want to bitch who are you to tell me, a grown woman not to?

and I've no need to start a thread on a soap or anything.

That's not surprising, what is surprising is that you're upset because some people do and are making your way here to tell us only that.

I just thought people could use fiction rather than real people for their therapy/ speculation/ obsessing!

We know this now. Thank you.

This is not engaging with the topic or raising alternative points. This is telling adult women that they only have the right to discuss subjects you deem worthy.

Please don't post asking for evidence of scolding after this.

GracefulHippo · 23/01/2020 17:39

I never tried pink gin, but may avoid it based on Mustress’ review. Bombay Saphire with (any) tonic and lots of ice though, yum .

Has anyone else had a look at the “on topic only” thread MaiWee posted? It is almost exclusively cat pictures and cat talk. I couldn’t help laughing out loud Blush. I feel really bad, but it was funny Blush

GoFiguire · 23/01/2020 17:42

Rhubarb gin is nice and I drink it neat.

TheMustressMhor · 23/01/2020 17:42

I posted a link to MaisWeee's thread somewhere on this one.

But here it is again

I tried chilli vodka once. I honestly thought I was going to have a heart attack. Dreadful stuff 😭

TheMustressMhor · 23/01/2020 17:44

Has anyone got a bottle of sherry they don't want? I'll swap it for my bottle of pink gin.

OP posts:
GracefulHippo · 23/01/2020 17:46

Wendy, I partly agree with you about Doria. I think she is keeping the lowest profile possible and just tries to continue seeing her daughter and grandson. Not sure she is terrified though, maybe she just doesn’t want to gossip?

rockingchaircandle · 23/01/2020 17:48

I think it's engaging with the topic! I was replying directly to a poster on this thread.

It's weird how you think you deserve privacy to bitch (my opinion of course!) about this family on an open discussion forum you signed up to, but the family in question deserve none.

I haven't, and wouldn't, waste time asking for evidence for anything on this thread. I know that's not how this works! (Although if you can provide any that you've been infiltrated by Friends of Meghan, I'd be impressed! That was a funny post)

Roussette · 23/01/2020 17:49

There is nothing wrong with me saying ... what on earth is matter with the Mum, I think she has behaved impeccably. This is a discussion forum where posters can ask questions, want clarification etc.

I find it strange that any poster disputing stuff or asking for a reason for a comment is deemed a scold.

Are there any sources that show she's not what she seems. Anyone?

GracefulHippo · 23/01/2020 17:50

Chilli vodka????? Why did you try that? It sounds disgusting . Eww.

Very basic, non sophisticated Gin & tonic (not pink) on the other hand, that is delicious. Or just a glass of red or white wine. Or Campari soda in summer...

goldierocks · 23/01/2020 17:51

Sorry Mustress, no can do - only brandy in this house.

If someone brought gin across my threshold I'd know they hate me, I can't stand any variety of the stuff!

TheMustressMhor · 23/01/2020 17:51

Even Co-Op Cream Sherry (£8.50 for a litre) would be acceptable.

I have just discovered that the pink gin gets its pinkness from raspberries.

Who knew?

DH is cooking again tonight. Gammon steaks Hmm

I am, therefore, looking forward to steak night, which is tomorrow.

GracefulHippo oh I was a bit over excited in a vodka bar one night. "Revolution" vodka bar. Are they still around? It's been so long since I have been out on the town but it was The Place To Be at one time.
