Why on earth are the DM referring to the DOC as Kate Middleton in their headline? Haven't seen that for ages.

I think a PP got it right re the photos.

They arrange the pap shots but threaten legal action if used by U.K. media.

Quite content for their target audience in Canada/US to see them.

I think William and Kate set up a trading company to prevent others doing so using their name.

I think Meghans sheer ingratitude is breathtaking. She had a huge wedding paid for by the British public and the RF. she is given a huge house and all refurbishments paid for. She wears beautiful expensive clothes paid for by PC. Her mother is welcomed with open arms. Every attempt is made to welcome her and ease her path. Then she runs off with PH and takes pot shots from afar via her ‘friends’ and undermines the work of PC , William and Kate with trite Instagram posts and staged shots of herself.
There is nothing she wants less than a quiet life.

I thought Merchie was very funny too. But quite see why in advisable to use in thread title.

Whilst I can add nothing of merit with regards to the main topic of conversation (sorry not sorry scolds), can my cat join the thread? She likes to sit on my pillow and bat me on the head when I’m not paying her enough attention, usually around 3am. If that doesn’t work, I get her little wet nose in my ear accompanied by very loud purring.

Random fact – cats are mostly crepuscular (more active at dawn and dusk) rather than nocturnal. Mine clearly didn’t get the memo.

Thank you for all the lovely cat pics and stories, I for one have enjoyed them.

I cannot see why anyone continues to defend her. It's so transparent.

MM brought up as an only child which can produce non- team players. No judgment, neither am I. But add to that the sort of nasty behaviour I am sure we have all seen or experienced from certain character types at school or at work, - the sly one upmanship, the plotting and manipulation - the grandiosity - and it's really a very poisonous combination.

The more Meghan scores own goals with her PR potshots, the less credible (and stable) she appears.
I can’t imagine that a big brand would want to invest in her given she is turning out to be a loose cannon.

Harry has lots of family events this year; both of his first cousins are getting married. Lady Kitty Spencer on Diana’s side and Princess Beatrice.
I hope Harry comes back to spend time with his families. He is very close to the Spencer side.
Unfortunately Meghan is going to be one of those relatives.
And given her adoration of the spotlight, she is not going to give up an opportunity to be photographed with aristos and the RF.

We had to have our boy PTS ten days ago and I still see his little face everywhere. He and his brother have cuddled each other to sleep every night for nearly 20 years which I think is why Boy 2 is waking me up so early at the moment.

And as for the timing of the Instagram post.

I felt sorry for them and believed they wanted peace .... like they achieved before and over Christmas. They could easily have moved to another secret mansion location if they truly wanted privacy. MM flew out the country secretly. Achieved that ok.

Richard Palmer, a royal reporter gas tweeted that "It may just be an unfortunate coincidence but I got notification that the Sussex PR machine had posted at 8am, the very moment the Clarence House preview had been timed for release. Maybe it was preset. They are old pictures so no big deal. But it happens regularly."

I hope W&K aren't playing this stupid game too. If there is an unwritten rule that they don't upstage the others and detract from their charities/causes, then they all need to stick to it and not play games. I'll be really peed off if W&M are doing this.

This is my troublemaker. She frequently wakes me up at 5 am whingeing to be fed. She doesn’t like siting in laps unless it’s one particular member of the family. The rest of us, we are only good for feeding her.

My understanding is that the royal diary engagements are carefully coordinated by the relevant staff at Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace to avoid clashes, so it would be surprising if they did.

I seem to recall that when H&M split from Kensington Palace in March 2019, they tried to set up their own "court" at Frogmore but HMQ put a stop to that and insisted that their diary commitments would instead be run by Buckingham Palace.

BP apparently runs the diaries of all the "junior royals".

Bet that went down well.

I think there has been a lot in the press recently about someone having left BP who did all the coordination. Since then apparently it’s been a mess with no one talking to anyone else and no proper diary meetings.

Im Irish so hardly a monarchist but that is not the point. Her entitlement is shocking. Her haste to take control and do what she wants is so impetuous.

Kate was resilient enough to take crappy derogatory press for about 10 years.

So comparisons with reporting of DOC are not comparing like with like. DOC went through press abuse just as bad for longer

she wants to be embraced by the community, which she wasn't in the UK.

Respect is earned and affection develops over time. Whatever the tabloids may have said, there was a lot of public goodwill towards Meghan at the time of her wedding, and if she'd got stuck in and built herself a portfolio of causes and interests, she'd have carved out a role for herself. But she doesn't appear to have been willing to put in the time and the work.
