Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

My culprit now sleeping soundly.

I’m somewhat OK and spent the early morning setting up the slow cooker - seared the chicken pieces, then lightly sautéed veg in the same pan with a bit of cider vinegar and it’s cooking now. Not glamorous, but hearty. 🥘

I am not keen on calling the baby "Merchie" and certainly do not think it would be a suitable title for one of these threads.

If we attract SCOLDS (and we do) there is no point giving them ammunition.

I believe that we can defend what (most of us) have written and I have tried always to report posts to MNHQ which breach the Talk Guidelines. I mean posts from our side, if you see what I mean.

Humour? Yes, certainly Bring it on, in spades.

Calling an eight month old baby "Merchie"? Personally not happy about that.

Good grief 7Worfs are you cooking dinner already?

'Nother Sussex 'top aide' gone apparently. Natalie Campbell, hired to run the Sussex Royal foundation.

Leaving a sinking ship?

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:19

OVienna I love your culprit.

They always sleep soundly throughout the day but as soon as we go to bed they get up.

Why is this?

Butterymuffin · 22/01/2020 11:20

I realise this is a Meghan bashing thread, but there's no defending her fathers quote IMO.

Sadly there's more than one person behaving badly in all this.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:21

Sorry, 7Worfs I see that you are employing that time-old aid to the modern chef - the slow cooker.

Dinner in the Mhor house tonight will be...…………….drumroll...……………..cottage pie.

Da Da!

My vote is for the cat barber pheasant option.

But I would say that!

(Pssst: Are Meghan and Harry still PEPs?? I'd say so.)

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:22

@ajandjjmum

I wasn't thinking of starting the new thread yet.

I did start one of them far too early and annoyed everyone so I have learned my lesson.

Watch out Mustress you're in danger of being accused of trying to control the thread .

Though I think you're ok as far as storming in goes Grin

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:23

Sooooo…….

The Cat Barber Pheasant Option.

How does that sound?

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:24

I am not in danger of being accused of trying to control the thread, peridito.

I am giving my opinion. People do not have to agree, and I am sure some people will not.

TheMustressMhor - wasn't whinging Grin Just glad that you do it!

Butterymuffin · 22/01/2020 11:26

Agree that unkind nicknames for Archie (even if he isn't the target of the criticism) should not be used. None of this is his fault.

yolofish · 22/01/2020 11:26

I'm OK with that if everyone else is OK with that mustress. In fact, I think it will not only survive but thrive!

In two minds about watching Mr Markle - it clashes with White House Farm. I know I could be modern and find one or other on the iplayer thingy but I'd have to get DD2 to do it for me.

Merchie - well I thought it was very funny but agree its not very kind and we probably shouldnt continue to use it...

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:26

ajandjjmum I know you weren't whinging. Grin

bohemia14 · 22/01/2020 11:28

I agree about Merchie. It feels unkind to me.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 11:29

Heavens yolofish get your DD there pronto.

You need a couple of lessons, that's all. If I can operate the Smart TV as an entity, anyone can.

peridito · 22/01/2020 11:29

Glad to hear it Mustress ( though intrigued that you feel able to speak for everyone ) excellent to have it stated that giving an opinion does not equal trying to control .

TwentyViginti · 22/01/2020 11:30

Makes me think of old time spies meeting and establishing contact credentials!

"The cat only shouts in the night"

"But only the barber shoots the pheasant"

*Nother Sussex 'top aide' gone apparently. Natalie Campbell, hired to run the Sussex Royal foundation.

Leaving a sinking ship?*

Not at all, CathyorClaire (great user name btw!)

Natalie Campbell resigned from the Sussex Royal Foundation on 22 August 2019 and promptly registered another company with Companies House the same day - MWX Trading.

Controlling interest and majority shareholder - one Sussex Royal Foundation.

My guess - and it is only a guess - is that MW stands for Markle Windsor. Or possibly Mountbatten Windsor.

Our Nat was simply launching a whole new ship.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 11:32

I presumed that H&M had issued a legal warning to Canadian media because if all the paps they say are harrassjng them. However, I've just looked at Canada's The Globe and Mail and it states:
"The Sussexes’ legal team have issued a legal notice to U.K. press, TV and photo agencies, concerning the use of paparazzi agency photos,” the royal source said,"

So, has this been issued because of the agreement in the UK about the press using pap's photos?

Could it be H, M or their friends or team are tipping off the paparazzi and they are happy for the photos to be published in Canada yet will sue if the British press use them? They get the photos they want in Canadian press and can say UK press are disregarding their agreement if UK press publish them.

strictlymomdancing · 22/01/2020 11:33

The threads are starting to get a bit boring anyway. Not much news and mostly talking about cats and meals.

Bouledeneige · 22/01/2020 11:33

It has been interesting to watch this rather bumpy and not well handled process be sorted out in the glare of publicity and sadly to see a Prince we all rather like leave these shores. In the end it will all settle down and we will forget about it. Just as there was a lot of criticism of Diana lounging around the Med on mega yachts before she died and was deified. Having sentimentalised the relationship between the two brothers who walked behind that coffin we all rather thought they would stay best buddies for ever - but famillies don't work like that and wives and children and work get in the way. They are growing up and apart and in the end Harry was always going to struggle with his role. Whilst William and Kate have dutifully accepted theirs.

Its not surprising the staff are leaving - I imagine they have either been made redundant or their roles hugely scaled back just as the staff at Frogmore have been re-deployed. M and H will find a way to live that balances privacy with some commercial activity and in many ways I think they will fade from view. Last year's story. Next most likely to be seen back in the country for some funerals at some point.

And gradually will all move on to other issues and gossip.
