Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I saw the info on Kate before I went to sleep last night - and a Meghan update is exactly what I expected. Who cares where she was when she was in London - her actions since have rather eliminated any interest. Hope the dog charity were happier with her than the National Theatre, who she also had a meeting with.

Butterymuffin · 22/01/2020 10:21

I'm surprised they list engagements publicly given the security risk too.

GuytheBeagle · 22/01/2020 10:23

Tracy
Woof! Do you know, I never even met Lupo. He sounded a good sort too.
I'm so glad I have a new companion. Without him I would have been very much not OK.
It has been a very stressful 20 months.

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 10:27

How about "The Cat, the Barber and other pheasant pluckers"

Genius, pure genius!

Morning, Mustress, neither lavish nor a delivery of veg by electric vehicle, sadly. DH is cooking dinner for a change. I hesitate to mention this lest I attract the attention of yet more scolds accusing him of mansplaining mancooking.

How will they cope when they come to the realisation that not every poster on MN is a mum? And some posters are not even women??

Returning to the topic, though, there are two markets out there in the outside world. One for people who are interested in any worthwhile research and focus on child development, and one for those who just like Instagram. The two markets are not necessarily mutually exclusive but they can never be said to be in competition. And only one is likely to be remembered in a few years time.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 10:28

Guy, can you howl more quietly, please?

What with your howling and various shouting cats I only slept for three hours last night.

How can I mix up a Cocker Spaniel with a Labrador Blush
Sorry Lupo.

Guy pleased you have a new companion.
Will you & Oz be having a joint insta?

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 10:30

Well, yah-boo-sucks to that Lily. The SCOLDS can do one, which I believe is modern parlance for engaging their talents elsewhere.

My own DH is doing the housework while I write important things on my laptop.

The Sussexes and the Cambridges don't publish their engagements in the Court Circular.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/01/2020 10:38

That's a fab title suggestion from Myimaginarycat

Mustress & Lily I'm looking forward to hearing what is on the menu later.

Strange thing for TM to say. I don't particularly like him but he does appear to be a very hurt, confused and naive man, rather than manipulative like Meghan is.

So maybe he was meaning its time to look after him in terms of restoring the family relationship, the emotional rather than financial side of things?

strictlymomdancing · 22/01/2020 10:41

I think we should put "Merchie" in the next thread title.

phpolly · 22/01/2020 10:41

Re the Instagram situation, all I can think is how sad it is that Meghan obviously saw joining the RF (and possibly most of all her relationship with Kate) as engaging in a "popularity contest" or a game that had to be either won or lost. Too bad she couldn't see it instead as joining a team - a very small team whose members understand their circumstances from the inside out as no one else ever could. Then again, given MM's apparent history of climbing the ladder by using and discarding people, perhaps that just wasn't in her nature.

Encyclo · 22/01/2020 10:47

He wants money. He's been selling her out since day 1. He's now openly saying it. There's no other way to interpret it. I realise this is a Meghan bashing thread, but there's no defending her fathers quote IMO.

ajandjjmum · 22/01/2020 10:48

MM is not a team player imo. I worked with a girl like this once - she always wanted the glory for herself. Really good at her job but it got very wearing!

Re: the new thread. Not meaning to be bossy, but can we wait until this one is nearly full, so that my small brain doesn't get confused! Grin

I realise this is a Meghan bashing thread

It really isn't. It's a thread for chatting about Harry, Meghan and their recent behaviour. That's all.

SeperatedSwans · 22/01/2020 10:54

Morning all, I've given up catching up! Haha

I'm going to go slightly off topic and say I really do like Kate's early years project. The amount of data that questionnaire collects with Kate's publicity could really change children's early lives in our society! I actually am really really excited about it 😳 It feels like for once something a royal has put their name to has a chance to change and help society as a whole rather than a niche charity if you see what I mean.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 10:59

I bet Meghan saw the article in last night's Sun at 10.30 p.m. (6.39 a.m. this morning in Vancouver) and banged out an email straight away telling her team to stick those old photos on Instagram.

Megain, the word 'Instagram' should be a clue. You can put photos on there instantly.

A quick look at the posts above and below mine, and the posters calling her baby "Merchie"...

You sure about that?

notmoresheep · 22/01/2020 11:02

have to say I’m really not keen on the ‘Merchie’ NN. No matter what our opinion of H&M choices he’s a baby, innocent in all this and potentially stands to come off worst of all of them if he ends up being touted about for money (which I doubt H will permit given his own childhood).

EcocabbyRickShaw · 22/01/2020 11:03

@Encyclo

Yup, I'm sure. A couple of posts aren't representative of the whole chain of ten or more threads.

And the 'Merchie' comment is funny. Lighten up.

TwentyViginti · 22/01/2020 11:07

This whole royal saga is like the days of yore, when royals had real power and sibling rivalry led to wars and bloodshed. Now it's all played out on SM and in the press, with hopefully no bloodshed involved!

'Woko Ono' and 'Merchie' omg Grin

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 11:07

I don't particularly like Archie bring referred to as Merchie either.

if he ends up being touted about for money (which I doubt H will permit given his own childhood).
I think Harry will do whatever Meghan decides he will. Grin

7Worfs · 22/01/2020 11:09

There’s no way the posting is a coincidence - a 40min gap, what, 4th or 5th time in the past two weeks? Let’s not be naive here.

William and Kate’s new initiatives will have a huge impact in the coming years, and I’m seriously miffed at these thrashy, attention-whoring attempts to hijack the spotlight.

Encyclo · 22/01/2020 11:09

@EcocabbyRickShaw you keep telling yourself that.

Their baby should be off limits though.
