Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

Yes, I wonder what Thomas Markle will have to say?

I can't believe how like him Meghan was before she had her nose job.

I don't think Harry will come to his senses. He will blame everyone but himself or Meghan for his doomed marriage.

North America is welcome to the Sussexes. They are no use to us.

Butterymuffin · 21/01/2020 23:01

I wonder if the time it will take Harry to come to his senses will be shorter than might be
supposed

I don't think so. He won't be ready to admit it's all gone pear shaped for a while yet.

Ellmau · 21/01/2020 23:02

is being slandered and maliciously speculated about on thread after thread in this topic

Slander is spoken. If it's written, you mean libel.

I don't think H&M are complaining just about being photographed so much as harassment by those paps trying to intrude on the privacy of their home.

BBC now has a correspondent parked in Vancouver, to cover the coverage.
I must admit that I thought it was stupid to have one based there considering H&M are trying to escape the press. I think our TV correspondents and UK newspapers should not be there. Leave them be and don't buy photos from paps. Don't give them any ammo to rail against the British press.

Well-spotted.

I think the BBC will stay there to see how this all plays out.

If the marriage does fail it won’t be him who ends it.

RonaldMcDonald · 21/01/2020 23:07

@WendyMoiraAngelaDarling That post was grotesque, what is wrong with you? Why would you say that?

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 21/01/2020 23:14

No it wasn't. Stop being so utterly ridiculous Hmm

RonaldMcDonald · 21/01/2020 23:17

Why must you all bleat about security provisions. Neither the Sussexes or the rest of the Royal Family have any say on what level of security they receive.
That is decided by government who make a risk assessment and then address accordingly.
Often they would rather wish for less - younger senior royals, or more - less minor royals. They have no say in the matter of protection, as they cannot accurately assess it, as they’re far from expert or removed from the decision.

It sounds utterly stupid to speak about it. Our upkeeping a Monarchy brings a price tag- protection is a necessary part of that.

Teddy1970 · 21/01/2020 23:19

I do think it's a shame though, she could have been really popular if she kept her head down, ridden out the storm and got on with the job, she'd have gained huge respect for doing that but now we know she really didn't want to be cutting ribbons and opening hospitals, LA was her plan all along, just a shame Harry can't see through it.

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 23:20

I think you'll find, RonaldMcDonald that the question of who is footing the bill for the Sussexes' security is very much a hot topic, given that Canada do not want to cough up.

I can't believe how like him Meghan was before she had her nose job.
I didn't know she'd had a nose job but have always been struck by how her unusual nose in profile is just like Harry's. First thing I noticed when I saw them together.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 21/01/2020 23:28

If the marriage does fail it won’t be him who ends it.

Yes, sadly true.

MarySidney · 21/01/2020 23:28

They have no say in the matter of protection, as they cannot accurately assess it, as they’re far from expert or removed from the decision.

Diana refused official protection, so it's not true that they have no say.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 21/01/2020 23:28

I mean honestly... what the hell did they expect when they moved to Canada - that the media would leave them alone because its only the British media who are sooooo awful.

Meghan walking in that park - honest to goodness who walks in a park witn a smile like that plastered on their face when they are out on their own (albeit with security).

She damn well knew paparazzi were there and all but posed for them to then threaten with legal action ????!!!

Meghan love - people do not need your consent to take photos in a public place .

These 2 just get worse and worse imho.

RonaldMcDonald · 21/01/2020 23:29

I think you’ll find that only the media are making their security a hot topic in order to stir up further animosity against two people who are in legal dispute with them

The governments decide. They assess risk, make recommendations and then decide.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 21/01/2020 23:30

This woman is toxic . I am proper ranting now but for goodness sake Harry only got there today and they are already whining .

MrsBrentford · 21/01/2020 23:31

I just wonder though, IF the pictures were posed (which I believe they were) how Harry feels about it.

Not the undermining of him so much but to watch his wife play a cat and mouse game with the press which ultimately his mother lost - with his son in tow ....

Teddy1970 · 21/01/2020 23:31

Yes, I'm sick of the British press getting the bloody blame for everything when we know that the North American press is ruthless...National Enquirer anyone?

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 21/01/2020 23:32

Actually @RonaldMcDonald - the Met are making it a hot topic - they are not and have not been happy with Meghans security expenditure since the wedding.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 21/01/2020 23:33

@MrsBrentford absolutely.

And those photos today just reeked of cat & mouse . That was not just her idly walking through the park .
