Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I'm actually NOT ok no, sadly but your kind acknowledgement has made me feel slightly better. Thank you...

FlickingVees · 21/01/2020 22:19

I see them both as deeply flawed people.
Both had traumatic childhoods, and never seemed to get over them - of course that kind of thing happens to a lot of people, a lot of people, and it’s hard work to overcome trauma...
it can’t be resolved by throwing down some woke quotes.. (quokes) on the ‘gram. These two don’t seem to stick around to do the work.

I think Martina Navratilova got it right when she said that “Serena was real Royalty, as she had worked for it, not just married into it.“

It’s the dishonesty and entitlement that rankles... and the cost of course. Eye watering amount for two minutes of marriage as a previous poster said.

Loving the Grabdication.
And Woko Ono... though I’d change that to Woko Uno..

Who was it that was having partridge yesterday? OVienna wasn't it?

She wasn't okay either this morning.

According to the BBC news, Meghan didn't give permission for the photos to be taken. On a public footpath, do the paps need permission?

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 22:25

I don't think they need permission in a public place.

But I am not a shit-hot lawyer so I could be wrong.

More bizarre carrying on. It’s never going to end, is it?

ThroughTheRoses · 21/01/2020 22:29

I wouldn't have thought so...being a public place and a free country? I don't know about the laws there though.

Of course if one wanted privacy one could always walk in the grounds of the mansion where one is reportedly living rent-free? Just a crazy thought.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/01/2020 22:30

It is telling that H is still acting like a royal and issuing threats and demands

It will also be telling if Buck House fail to make noises to back him up at a distance

Time will tell, but my own view's that they'll leave him to come to a full realisation of what he's done without interruption - the sooner to hurry his return

KayakingOnDown · 21/01/2020 22:31

Reports on another thread that she was paid for wearing the baby-carrier.

AutumnCrow · 21/01/2020 22:31

The BBC now has a correspondent parked in Vancouver, to cover the coverage.

Estimates of the M&H annual security bill are between £3 million to £6 million.

And yet MM still seems very exposed ie at risk in her strolls outdoors.

I'm not entirely convinced this has all been properly thought through - politically, financially or monarchically.

MrsDoubtTried · 21/01/2020 22:32

Well, they have a perfect right to do that. Let him sort it out without the Palace might at his disposal. This life is the one he wanted after all.

MrsDoubtTried · 21/01/2020 22:33

Paid to wear the baby sling thing? Oh dear. She made a bit of a mess of that cash opportunity, then...

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 21/01/2020 22:34

I really had to laugh out loud at this article about Meghan and the sling that Archie was in on the photos earlier today.

Milli Hill, bestselling author of The Positive Birth Book who is appearing at The Baby Show in London next month, said:
"She is doing an absolutely brilliant job and the fact that one strap of her sling has slipped just shows how hard she is working and that she, like all of us, is human."

Wtf! the fact that one strap of her sling has slipped just shows how hard she is working.

I have no words. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

She's staring directly at the camera and smiling at it.

I agree with this. The trouble is that H and M thrust this on the Queen very suddenly and without any warning.

In fact they just stuffed their "proposals" on Instagram without any prior consultation.

It seems to me that the Queen figured out immediately what would happen, so she had that Sandringham meeting quickly and very briefly told Harry what she had decided.

No messing about - but she has clearly left the door open for him to come back after the divorce, which I reckon she and her advisors are convinced must be the consequence of all this.

Not only is she accusing the British of being Racist, she is also insulting us in thinking we are stupid.

MrsBrentford

Not only is she accusing the British of being Racist, she is also insulting us in thinking we are stupid.

It’s as if she is in a tailspin. This is now out of control.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 21/01/2020 22:50

I see Kitty Spencer has also been making milk adverts in China. SometimesI feel as though I’m living in an alternate universe.

Given the speed with which this whole situation has developed and unravelled I wonder if the time it will take Harry to come to his senses will be shorter than might be
supposed . It has moved into the realms of comedy now it’s so ridiculous. Just farcical.

Butterymuffin · 21/01/2020 22:51

The BBC now has a correspondent parked in Vancouver, to cover the coverage.

Ah the irony. As a pp said, walking in Windsor Great Park Meghan wouldn't have been papped.

RonaldMcDonald · 21/01/2020 22:53

They are entitled to different levels of privacy now their status as senior royals has changed or is changing in the spring
They will be able to sue the media and paparazzi to ensure that they are treated more fairly

Your information mostly comes from media outlets they are currently in legal dispute

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 21/01/2020 22:54

Apparently Harry has been turning to Doria for advice on leaving the royal family. I remember not so long ago when he referred to his own family as being there for Meghan as "the family Meghan never had". Obviously they couldn't cut the mustard in the family stakes.

RonaldMcDonald · 21/01/2020 22:55

Additionally we are racist to varying degrees and clearly stupid

missyoumuch · 21/01/2020 22:56

Sorry but there’s no way Alexis Ohanian is talking about MM on Twitter. He’s a big tech investor and just launched a new initiative on promoting working fathers and family leave. MM is unlikely to be in the top 50 things he thinks about.
