Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I’m another one for saying these pics look very staged.
Looks like they will have even less privacy now they’ve emigrated and they’ve created all this drama which is only increasing public interest.
It’s difficult to know what this pampered pair want really.

SeperatedSwans · 21/01/2020 16:38

I think I need to give up my job to keep up with these threads 🤣 I'll be back, I just need to catch up!

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 16:38

Money, and it isn't at all difficult to figure that out.

Surely thta Youtube CANNOT be real!?

Correct...ffs people. Come on look at it. LOOK at it!!

GlitchStitch · 21/01/2020 16:39

People getting het up about a pap shot. Maybe it's a one off.

It's not even the first one this week!

Chinaisvast · 21/01/2020 16:39

I cannot believe anyone thought that YouTube clip was real! 😳😆

Frezia · 21/01/2020 16:39

@StubbleTurnips A reputable babywearing consultant Dr Rosie Knowles said the way she was carrying him was safe if not perfect. Perhaps you should go back to the sling library to for more knowledge before throwing accusations. Anyone who has ever breastfed in an Ergobaby carrier can recognise that is what she must have been doing just before the photos were taken.

Sorry FizzAfterSix that sounded very snippy.

Lol I just thought wtf am I looking at - did the person who liked it think it was real

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 16:40

Linked it

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/01/2020 16:40

I thought anyone could be photographed in a public place?, obviously if she was wandering the grounds of the private estate they are staying at then clearly it’s a breach of privacy but it’s a public area isn’t it? The bodyguards don’t look bothered or ready to leap into action either.

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 16:41

Not sure why I even watched it really

I don’t know how they could sue

Teddy1970 · 21/01/2020 16:42

Meghans mouthpiece is defending her again, saying it was the paps with long range lenses, true he has pictures of the distances involved, but that makes it more staged imo because she's staring straight at the camera grinning, so she knew they were there even from a distance away.

AuntieStella · 21/01/2020 16:43

"They are believed to be alarmed by paparazzi activity near their current base on Vancouver Island.
"Lawyers say there have also been attempts to photograph inside their home using long-range lenses and they accuse the paparazzi of being camped outside the property."

What are the privacy laws in Canada?

UK: Being photographed when walking in a public place (where you would have no reasonable expectation of privacy) is perfectly legal in Britain (all jurisdictions, I think). Those of Royals are rarely published here, because of the series of deals which the RF has with the press. Being doorstepped is also not illegal (though harassment laws might be -eventually - invoked if a persistent nuisance. They cannot get near Royal properties, and the British pack generally do not doorstep private occasions.

Is Canada similar? Stricter? Or have they actually lost several layers of protection?

AutumnCrow · 21/01/2020 16:44

My interest in this, @rockingchaircandle, is from the perspective of political analysis. Where is the monarchy going with this? Who is paying for it? What are the political ramifications for the Commonwealth, especially in the tacky new world of social media? Who has the agency here? Are the optics being manipulated and counter-manipulated? Again, who is paying for it?

Alsohuman · 21/01/2020 16:45

At this rate legal action is going to become their full time job. Stay at home, don’t walk your dogs in public parks and stfu is surely the way to go right now. They making themselves look complete idiots.

yolofish · 21/01/2020 16:46

gonna need deeeeep pockets for all that legal action...

OVienna · 21/01/2020 16:47

She is looking right at the camera! Who does she think she is looking directly at??

Honestly - what is actually going on here?

The still shot from Canada, or the recently linked YouTube vid?

I'm OK today, yolo and hope all is well with you

KitMarlowesCodpieceOfThigh · 21/01/2020 16:48

Prince Andrew eating chips in the foreground is a bit of a giveaway...

Now, if he were eating pizza, it might be different...

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 21/01/2020 16:48

That video was sent to my whatsup about 5 days ago. It's a parody joke video, like a meme.

MeghanMountbattenSausage

I think you're onto something when you say she looks strong. Someone else suggested it's a 2 fingers up and maybe it's both.

From her point of view she's been in a battle with the RF who are enemies of herself and H (and toxic etc etc)

This smile could be saying: look at me. I've won. I've got the baby and I'm doing things my way. You can't get me down etc etc

peaceanddove · 21/01/2020 16:48

If the paps were using long distance lenses, how come Beghan's eyesight was good enough to spot them far away in the distance and smile directly into the lens? Dear God, exactly which PR imbecile is trotting out these stories???

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 21/01/2020 16:49

Now, if he were eating pizza, it might be different...Grin

Froq · 21/01/2020 16:50

It’s the same in Canada, @AuntieStella

People can take photos of whatever, and whoever, they like in a public place. Even children.

Even Harry isn’t stupid enough to go along with this one.

The pap “hiding” in the bushes yet she manages to look straight into the (completely unobstructed) camera and glide towards it whilst smiling. Just when the newspapers were starting to focus on Billy and Cathy. Hmm sure.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 21/01/2020 16:53

Even Harry isn’t stupid enough to go along with this one.

The facts would appear to belie this claim.
