Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

Happy I did carry like this, albeit properly and non pappable while walking the dogs. Biggest issue I found was spaniel leaping into the canal when carrying so she was relegated to lead only.
Back carry DS now when walking out, but still have the dogs.

MissEliza · 21/01/2020 16:04

I see a lot of women walk dogs with babies in a sling around my area. I don't think it's a good idea personally. I'd worry about the dog suddenly pulling.

The80sweregreat · 21/01/2020 16:07

This was a stunt pure and simple. I'm not being bitchy or anything but I bet it was just a ploy to see who was about and what they would do. It feels too staged to me and she looks too relaxed about it when it must have been anything but ! Also a sort of ' I'm so strong and independent now' as well. It's certainly not something many would aim for on their own but she did have those minders with her so maybe that made her feel a bit less vulnerable. She looks happy though : last few months before Christmas she didn't look as beaming as this.
Not sure what to think but I bet this isn't the last we see of pics like this next few weeks.
I too wonder how Harry will fill up his days

peaceanddove · 21/01/2020 16:09

Beghan is looking directly at the camera and grinning happily. She's shifted Archie to one side so her full smiling face is showing. Her security officers don't look remotely concerned she's being papped, infact one of them is strolling along with his hands in his pockets. Hardly springing into panther like action to protect her privacy.

I don’t reckon she does know how to use it, can’t see her being a regular at Slough Sling Library in fairness.
One thing our sling library drilled into us was safety is paramount. Either that or she hasn’t/won’t listen to advice.

GracefulHippo · 21/01/2020 16:16

She does look happy to be photographed, so much happier that when people allegedly tried to photograph her without baby at Wimbledon...

MrsDoubtTried · 21/01/2020 16:18

Just saw this on Twitter...

didofido · 21/01/2020 16:24

Surely thta Youtube CANNOT be real!?

yolofish · 21/01/2020 16:27

ouch Winnie yes I apologise for using a very poor metaphor.

Jomarchsburntskirt · 21/01/2020 16:28

It was very interesting to see the obviously staged pics of her with the baby this morning. She can’t even hold that child properly. It’s funny how Harry wants privacy when his wife is clearly craving any attention. This is all going to go horribly wrong. I just hope Harry ends up ok. She isolated him from all his friends and family. If any of our female friends had been isolated in this way we would be so worried about them.

Apparently not, they’re threatening legal action over the publication of these photos according to BBC.

No, to be honest, I've never watched EastEnders! I was just trying to suggest a less damaging hobby.

In all seriousness, what do you get out of this?

MeghanMountbattenSausage · 21/01/2020 16:28

I said (many threads ago under a different nn) that I found being an older mum hard

@Imstinkyeddie Don't give Megain any excuses. I was 36. If anything I found it easier because:
a) I had a career but was able to take a whole year out without worrying about getting a job/independence/money
b) I was able to save so that when I wasn't earning it wasn't too much of an issue money-wise
c) I didn't lie around thinking "if I hadn't had DD then I could have travelled/the world/got a degree/ partied all night/built my career" because I'd already done that
d) I didn't worry so much about not having parental or family support because I was pretty independent and used to getting on with things
e) I didn't give a stuff about stupid sexist comments about being a working Mum when I did go back to work
f) I didn't lie awake nights because I missed the first word/step/smile because I was at work. I knew that it isn't the firsts that matter and you remember it's the lasts. I remember with huge clarity the last time my DD held me hand to cross the road
g) I had flexible working arrangements so could work from home and take DD to ballet class
h) I was ace at helping with homework
i) At 36 you don't worry so much about looking fab every day so don't cry so much about the toll Motherhood takes on your body

Jomarchsburntskirt · 21/01/2020 16:29

@MrsDoubtTried the footage is clearly doctored.

Oaky321 · 21/01/2020 16:30

@Guacamole read PP post about how ‘threatening’ legal action essentially means nothing.

AcrossthePond55 · 21/01/2020 16:30

Sue for what exactly? She was in a public park, on a public path. The pics of M are hardly 'intrusive' or even 'unflattering'. It's not like those horrible long-lens pics of the DoC on her honeymoon. That was an invasion of privacy.

I'm not sure what Canada's laws are regarding the paps and privacy. If they're anything like here (US) there was nothing wrong with a photog taking that picture and selling it as there was no 'reasonable expectation of privacy' and the photog didn't appear to get close enough to be termed 'aggressive'.

yolofish · 21/01/2020 16:30

or if any of our male friends had been isolated in a similar way.

re threatening to sue:

H: how've you been darling, up to much?
M: nice walk in the park but the paps turned up (leaves out any mention of why they turned up)
H: the bastards, we'll sue their arses off
M: are you sure honey? (worries about what will happen next)

Horehound · 21/01/2020 16:31

I feel like she's smiling at the paps to say that it's all done now and she's happy and relaxed.
Ive also taken my baby and dog out with baby in a sling. I managed to pick the poop up easily enough so dunno what the hoo ha is with that
People are so speculative and basically giving harry an out when actually, he could be the main driver actually just thinking he needs to protect his wife and son.
People getting het up about a pap shot. Maybe it's a one off. Let's just wait and see before taking out the pitch forks, eh?

AutumnCrow · 21/01/2020 16:31

No, didofido, it's not 'real'. It's Ken's Kebabs in the home of the Royal Navy aka Portsmouth, with superimposed faces.

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 16:32

That twitter video must be fake?

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 16:32

Oh right x post

WinnieTheW0rm · 21/01/2020 16:33

Thanks yolo - I was afraid of being too bossy (or should that be 'controlling') with that post.

Teddy1970 · 21/01/2020 16:34

Prince Andrew eating chips in the foreground is a bit of a giveaway...

yolofish · 21/01/2020 16:34

the thing is Winnie are you ok?! Grin
