Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I haven't made anything up personally.I quoted a newspaper article and my opinion ( of which I am entitled to have, as are you). And the grin face was at the irony of the complaining about the thread, but still continuing to post on it.🤷‍♀️ So not sure what your point is.

Imstinkyeddie · 21/01/2020 15:18

Yes.

I said (many threads ago under a different nn) that I found being an older mum hard.

Maybe M does too?

I can imagine the RF not being very sympathetic if she struggled?

WineOrGinOrBoth · 21/01/2020 15:18

I’m actually really impressed she can have Archie in a sling & walk 2 dogs. I wouldn’t have been able to do that

If she didn’t know they were there I’m pleased she smiled as the photo captions would have been worse had she scowled IMO.

rockingchaircandle · 21/01/2020 15:19

Why would a woman you've never met, who's not answerable to you, who wants privacy, make it easy for you?

Now, if you get stuck into EastEnders, the writers do try and think about conveying motivation etc and you're not hounding a real life family with your obsessions...

Poppyfields21 · 21/01/2020 15:21

Why would a woman you've never met, who's not answerable to you, who wants privacy, make it easy for you?

I think that’s precisely what we’re trying to work out! It all seems very confusing. Desperate for privacy but choosing to go out in public, smile for the camera, and then threaten to sue?! I don’t get it.

EcocabbyRickShaw · 21/01/2020 15:23

Me neither wineorgin. TBF I never really got on at all with a sling, and certainly not with a baby of that age. Always gave me a shocking back ache. All power to the Pilates instructor and M's core strength!

DeRigueurMortis · 21/01/2020 15:32

Why would a woman you've never met, who's not answerable to you, who wants privacy, make it easy for you?

Alternatively why would a woman and her husband who want privacy make it easier on themselves by not repeatedly making decisions/taking actions that do not accomplish this goal?

Perhaps because that's not their primary objective and given the funding they receive from the taxpayer this is something the public is well within their rights to question?

Personally I find it more baffling how so many people are fawning over 2 people they haven't met, who are determined to build themselves a private fortune on back of the status, funding and support of the very country they've shoved two fingers at.

If they'd actually wanted a private life they have all the necessary means to achieve this and I doubt this would have got past one thread - with everyone wishing them well.

GoFiguire · 21/01/2020 15:33

The thing is, I’m sure the first hour of that story said that they were going to sue and now it’s been downgraded to threaten to Sue.
Let’s hope that Harry puts a stop to all this silly shenanigans.

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 15:35

Great Heavens.

Has another SCOLD appeared on the thread?

Why would a person who wants privacy call the paparazzi to photograph them on several occasions? They were perfectly able to live their life in the UK without these photos appearing. It's all a bit weird.

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 15:37

I do not see how he can.

Meghan has uprooted him from the very support system which could have assisted the pair of them with unwanted press intrusion - the royal protection services.

Therefore it is only reasonable to conclude that Meghan isn't terribly bothered about being photographed while out with the dogs and the baby.

None of it makes any sense at all. I really think they need to get their act together. At present, it’s such a hopeless tangle of mixed messages. Is it any wonder the public is perplexed - to say the least?

That is precisely why these threads have gone on for so long. We have dissected MM and PH's rationale for quitting the RF over the last couple of weeks and concluded that MM didn't actually want privacy at all.

Perhaps it’s to create a narrative of ‘look, Archie is in danger due to this privacy violation so whilst no one wants to pay for our security, can’t you see it in your peasant hearts to pay for it in order to protect our child?’ Sad

Or perhaps the girl just likes to have her photo taken.

Or both.

MrsDoubtTried · 21/01/2020 15:41

Let’s hope that Harry puts a stop to all this silly shenanigans.

The idea of him being in a position of any control at all - particularly as he has now apparently opted to leave the security his wider family was able to
provide - is actually ridiculous.

MrsDoubtTried · 21/01/2020 15:43

I fear he will live to regret his rashness.

ajandjjmum · 21/01/2020 15:43

She certainly didn't look worried about her child being in danger.

AutumnCrow · 21/01/2020 15:47

Now, if you get stuck into EastEnders, the writers do try and think about conveying motivation etc

You have actually watched Eastenders, have you, Rockingchair? Grin The writers' idea of motivation is money, status, adultery and playing 'Who's the Daddy'. And more money. And characters buggering off abroad when the heat is on.

yolofish · 21/01/2020 15:48

Privacy is for when they want it, not when they dont. And I certainly agree she did not look in the least bit threatened in the sling photos.

The problem is I think H would like his privacy 99.9% of the time, and M, well M only wants it when it suits her. So there's a massive mismarriage of aims there before they even get onto anything else.

HappyHammy · 21/01/2020 15:51

The danger is trying to walk two strong dogs and hold a baby safely in a sling. Who else has ever done this. What would happen if the dogs got spooked by the paps jumping out of the bushes and tried to run off.

yolofish · 21/01/2020 15:52

Quick question: for how long is one considered a "new mum"? 8 weeks, 8 months, or what? I think I'd say about 3 months but just wondered if there is an official answer.

SpanishLady · 21/01/2020 15:54

There are women who still walk miles with a new born strapped to their back for water or to get to the nearest town etc - my own aunt made Christmas dinner while pregnant then took of her pin by and said right then I'm off to hospital etc etc - she can handle a couple of dogs and a baby

C'mon people

SpanishLady · 21/01/2020 15:54

Sorry she made dinner while in labour

ajandjjmum · 21/01/2020 16:02

yolo
28 years on and I'm still learning! Grin

WinnieTheW0rm · 21/01/2020 16:02

Given the manner of Diana's death, I'm not sure 'car crash' is quite the right term here. Trains (or planes) instead?
