Thread Nine.

How will they react to this?

In times past there were always separate bedrooms at least. Well for those who could afford it, just like RF I suppose.

I visited many an historical pile where the carpet between the bedrooms was wrecked. But the marriages survived.

Go figure. I doubt Anne and her husband are living together full time now, if at all!

yolofish · 19/01/2020 22:16

I am beginning to come round to the idea that a Stiff Upper Lip can actually be a good thing... stop bloody whining Hazza!

(PS, I'm OK, is everyone else thriving?)

SunsetBoulevard3 · 19/01/2020 22:16

So still bleating about being hard done by and full of self pity. It’s disgusting.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 19/01/2020 22:16

You'd think the royal family would have learnt their lesson after the last American who married in and caused havoc!

To be fair, it is said Wallis tried to prevent Edward VIII from stepping down. And once he abdicated, she stayed put and endured, even if she was still writing love letters to her ex-husband. She became cruel at times, but I think it was that she struggled to respect him once he jacked in everything for her.

They remained married until he died. Something I'm less optimistic will happen with PH and MM.

kinsss · 19/01/2020 22:18

Would anyone else think that separate houses/bedrooms work?

I wish I had the room to do it now. I reckon it would be great!

Views welcome.

GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 22:19

So what did Harry want then? The best of both worlds? To keep the royal bits whilst also pleasing Meghan? Maybe he should take it up with her, I doubt her behaviour in Canada this week helped the case for them continuing to do royal work.

It's also disrespectful yet again to moan when the Queen has given her blessing and made a very nice statement. I'm sure she will be thrilled at tomorrow's headlines that Harry is not happy. Maybe he needs to stop moaning now.

superfandango · 19/01/2020 22:20

Just saw the video on their Insta. Harry looks gutted, and they aren’t his words. He stumbles over them.

GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 22:21

And those who come on the threads periodically to ask why we are still talking about it- this is why. Because every time it starts to die down they give us something new to discuss!

KeepCookingWithGas · 19/01/2020 22:23

Fuel to the fire..

MorningCalm · 19/01/2020 22:23

So they keep their HRH titles. Harry is sixth in line for the crown. H&M has won.

kinsss · 19/01/2020 22:24

So Harry agreed to Insta and show his deep angst?

I am not on Insta so maybe I am wrong, apologies if so.

He can control that kind of thing. WTAF. Just stay the FK off SM for a while please, thank you.

strictlymomdancing · 19/01/2020 22:24

I'm furious. what little sympathy I have has gone. Spoiled selfish brat. spitting his dummy out. At least it has given us a bit of insight - he wouldn't lash out like this if BP weren't the winners.

Just fucking go quietly.

yolofish · 19/01/2020 22:24

Or petrol on the flames...

They obviously never heard "if you can't say anything nice dont say anything at all". Or, another of my Dm's favourites "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar".

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 19/01/2020 22:26

Apparently at a Sentebale dinner this eve he spoke saying he's hoped to be able to continue his work with the military and I think his patronages, but that it was not possible.

The equivalent:

'Mum I want to go out to play with Stephen'

'Ok. But you have to clean your room up first, it's a mess'

Later.....

'Did you clean your room up?'

'No, but can I still go out to play?'

'No you can't, you know the rules'

'It's not fair!!' Stomps off.

Did Harry miss this elementary bit of life training?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/01/2020 22:28

he wouldn't lash out like this if BP weren't the winners

A fair point

We've seen over the last few weeks that his judgement's severely lacking, but with this latest whine I thought, frankly, that he sounded deranged

SunsetBoulevard3 · 19/01/2020 22:30

The gottten in there makes me think it was written by Harry.

Peaseblossom22 · 19/01/2020 22:30

Did Harry miss this elementary bit of life training?

I think you have hit the nail on the head there

GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 22:31

He does look upset on the video. He's not a good speaker, or maybe it's because he's emotional that he sounds worse than usual.

kinsss · 19/01/2020 22:31

Within a week or so this will all be done and dusted, and largely forgotten. Just like we don't think about the rest of the RF hangers on every day either.

It has been very carefully managed.

EmeraldsAtDawn · 19/01/2020 22:31

you catch more flies with honey than vinegar

You're DM is/was clearly more of a lady than my gran, whose version of this was "you slide further on sugar then on shot" Grin

SunsetBoulevard3 · 19/01/2020 22:31

Sorry that meant to read the word gotten makes me think it WASNT written by Harry.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 19/01/2020 22:34

You're DM is/was clearly more of a lady than my gran, whose version of this was "you slide further on sugar then on shot"

Grin That's a classic!

Lordfrontpaw · 19/01/2020 22:36

I misread that and thought ‘oh no snot would be far more slippery that sugar...’ I really have to get my glasses sorted.

Dongdingdong · 19/01/2020 22:38

What she did was suggest that the brothers were falling out because of his affair (and not because of Meghan). However, we know now it was because of Meghan.

How do we know for sure that William and Harry’s falling out was due to Meghan?

Very interesting update from Nicholas Witchell. So it sounds like H&M aren’t so happy with the deal after all - well, Harry certainly isn’t.
