Andrew has done way worse than Harry and Meghan

Yes, but it isn't like they cancel each other out is it?

how the staff treated her. All the dirt. And she journalled it all

Yes, and if it is ever published, H & M would be stripped of their HRH, PC would no doubt cease funds, and their names would be mud. They might make a fortune from it, but they would be ostracized from the celebrity circles they seek to enter, due to not being trustworthy. They may also suddenly find themselves paying their own security bills, and find that Frognore is no longer "available to rent" when they come to the UK.

TheMustressMhor · 19/01/2020 12:40

The US press will continue to call her "Duchess Meghan" (much as they call Gordon Ramsey "Chef Ramsey") so removing the HRH is a waste of time from that point of view.

I wonder if british people really think of the Royal Family as their pets in a way.

In what way?

And was someone supposed to get Andrew neutered? Because they're in trouble if they just forgot.

Froq · 19/01/2020 12:41

I’m sure there’s a ‘we love Meg’ thread. Why don’t those hating on this thread just go over there?

So strange to be so controlling and try to derail a thread because you don’t want it to exist Hmm

Butterymuffin · 19/01/2020 12:43

@extrastrongnosugar

let him do him, you're not his mother

Wow, this applies to almost every single discussion on Mumsnet! Are you posting this on all those threads? You'll be busy. Or have you just decided to target this one? Newsflash: it's here for people to discuss this subject by choice. Why don't you let us do us? You're not our mother.

augustusglupe · 19/01/2020 12:44

Bluerussian

Totally agree!!

GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 12:45

Will she drop the court case now? Since they are now relying on their own reputations and are not working royals I think they would be wise to, a lot of damaging stuff is going to come out otherwise.

TheMustressMhor · 19/01/2020 12:46

So strange to be so controlling and try to derail a thread because you don’t want it to exist

Not only that - to assume blindly that we who have posted on these threads are necessarily full of hatred towards MM.

That really isn't the case, as anyone who cares to trawl through all nine of them would quickly find out. (or slowly find out, as reading 8,500 posts would necessarily take quit e bit of time.)

OP posts:
GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 12:47

And yes, being told off for discussing a news story that these very famous people have deliberately chosen to play out in public is really tiresome.

TheMustressMhor · 19/01/2020 12:47

GlitchStitch I think she will continue with the court case. People of her personality type cannot let go.

From now on, Meghan’s title will remain the same, whether she is married to Harry or not: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

She will make money, because that is who she is.
Harry has made a much bigger sacrifice moving to Canada / North America than Meghan ever did moving from Canada to the UK.

If he was feeling aimless after leaving the army, good luck with being a Meghan’s +1 across the pond.

There was something in the original statement from thevSussexes about Archie experiencing his British (Royal) héritage. Even if Meghan hates the UK I hope she doesn’t stop Harry bringing Archie back for visits.

Froq · 19/01/2020 12:49

as anyone who cares to trawl through all nine of them would quickly find out.

Nah, much easier to just call ‘racism’ or ‘hate’ and hope it gets the thread shut down.

extrastrongnosugar · 19/01/2020 12:49

ahh sorry, i didn't realize the headline for this thread was
"We hate meghan".

anyway, it's a free for all site, and a lot of people love harry and megs and what they are trying to do.
sorry to burst your bubble.

if you want a bubble go on twitter

notmoresheep · 19/01/2020 12:51

he has sick fundraising and event planning skill plus crazy discipline being ex army. slang aside, they have individual personal private secretaries, a joint private secretary, deputy secretary, assistant secretary, personal assistant, project manager and both a digital communications and communication secretary. These are definitely not people you can just hire from down the job centre either. As well as the usual maids, cooks, nannies, etc. A lot of admin staff needed for two people with ‘sick’ skills, wouldn’t you say?

TheMustressMhor · 19/01/2020 12:53

Are you quite well, extrastrongnosugar?

well if he really was such a useless puppet you are happy to see him go, right?

lyralalala · 19/01/2020 12:54

From now on, Meghan’s title will remain the same, whether she is married to Harry or not: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

There’s nothing in the press release that remotely suggests that

She’ll be The Duchess of Sussex unless the Queen announces otherwise. She’s not a divorced Duchess so is no need for the addition of her first name

GlitchStitch · 19/01/2020 12:54

I think she will continue with the court case. People of her personality type cannot let go.

You're probably right, I think it's going to be awful for her though.

Planeplane · 19/01/2020 12:59

I'd think the person with the dysfunctional family selling her out at every turn, the way smaller bank account and the one trying to find her way in a very different culture would be pretty vulnerable herself. any empathy for that one?

I'm sure they're both vulnerable in their own ways...I wasn't even talking about this specific situation...rather objecting to your statement about how none of us understand power in relationships.

SusanneLinder · 19/01/2020 12:59

@Iamdobby63,
I agree but they won’t want that... whatever they do they will need to media to promote it.

You are correct indeed, which is why I hope the press do leave them alone, and not give them attention. This is what annoys me, when celebrities/RF complain about negative press attention, but are quite happy to use it when it suits them. A tad hypocritical. You can't have it both ways.

notmoresheep · 19/01/2020 13:01

I don’t mind where he goes, extrastrongnosugar, as long as he’s paying his own way. He has treated his elderly grandmother and everything she stands for atrociously, the same goes for the military we are proud of too, who probably think he can now go shove it up his hoop. Couldn’t give a stuff about MM, explained why upthread. She’s not British, doesn’t want to be and after spaffing £20 million of OUR hard earned on her wedding has thumbed her nose, we can thumb our noses back and chat about it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/01/2020 13:04

I can’t find the name of the poster, who commented she moved areas in the U.K., had a baby and PND and compared her situation to that of Meghan.

I know it was a few pages back. There are sooo many differences between the two of you. I moved countries when I was heavily pregnant. It was from a non English speaking country back to the U.K., but not to an area I knew or to a country I really knew anymore because I’d been away so long. I knew no one. I had no local family support and I ended up very ill and disabled. Yes it was hard. Ok I wasn’t estranged from my family. But that is Meghan’s choice.

However, what I didn’t do was bleat, demand, hold my dh to ransom, run away and expect everyone to make me the centre of attention and pay for me. One could almost say this was planned....

didofido · 19/01/2020 13:04

"Andrew’s popped up at church with the Queen."

Perhaps she's told him he needs to repent??....

TheMustressMhor · 19/01/2020 13:04

After spaffing £20 million of OUR hard - earned on her wedding, has thumbed her nose. We can thumb our noses back and chat about it.

Yup.

Nicely put.

well if he really was such a useless puppet you are happy to see him go, right?

Not who you aimed that comment at but anyway.........no! Harry was never the sharpest knife in the drawer but he was able to do a lot for charity here, and represent the Queen both in the UK and overseas.

No he has fucked off, it leaves the Queen, William and Catherine with a shitload more work, it sets a crap precedent for Williams kids, and it is a constitutional pain in the arse.

This isn't about what people think of H & M so much, but what the implications and ramifications of their behaviour is. The Queen already has had the shit hit the fan with her son this year, so the timing of all this crap is awful. Perhaps H & M could have thought about their 93 year old grandmother in all of this?
