I hope it works out for all of them. hope the Queen is OK, and glad to hear Prince P is still amongst us.
On the surface of it I think Harry and Meghan are well matched.. as a previous poster said they’re both grifters.
I just was hoping that Harry was more than that shallow surface, you know? I guess we were all just holding our breath for him to mature... now we’re exhaling with kind of a resigned disinterest.
I also think sacking off the military thing for the Lion King was very very bad form.
People die and are injured for Queen and county, and he promised to serve... I’m glad them gave him the boot.
I’d say Meghan will want to move on quick, but will be trapped very like Wallis. My feeling is that she’ll dump him when she’s not able to pimp him out, and he’s dragging her down.
She moves very quickly... seems very reckless. However her speed must come in handy to dodge responsibilities and consequences.
Selling tea towels, and singing for your supper, eh? seems a bit of a come down for a Prince, even a halfwit Prince. I’d say the shine will go off that life pretty quickly. How many times can you dine out on how it was to lose your mother. I hope they don’t move on to selling insider stories from the RF, like that Butler guy.
I wonder who’s going to support them... it’s been very silent... not a whisper of support. neutral statement from Oprah... I wonder is that deal gone up in smoke?
if you look at it objectively, neither of them have any qualifications to actually promote climate change awareness, and with all the private jets etc they come across as hypocrites.
What do they have to offer the environmental / women’s justice community anyway.
There are many, many more qualified than them to speak, and many more who have put in the work.
it’s so patronising to think that can step off a private jet, saunter onto a stage barefoot and give a lecture: or rock up unannounced to a women’s shelter and go through the press release and approve the photos.
They’ve neither studied nor worked in these sectors..
In some ways William is far more qualified to comment on climate change and environmental issues as he did a geography degree.. he’s actually done some work on it... not just pissed about with one A level in art, or a degree in drama ffs.
I wonder if Oprah, Ellen and the like are watching the train wreck, and making plans to back quietly away from them.
I know if I was still working in the charity I was in, I’d refuse any visit... that kind of divisive visit would not be welcome... I certainly wouldn’t give MM a present, or let her merch a necklace / jewellery line for a third party using the charity as a backdrop.
Most charities follow a code of governance, and have a board of directors who will insist that a policy regarding visitors and fundraising is upheld for the best interests of the charity, and those the charity serves, and categorically not the sleb. who fancies a self promoting do-good Instagram post.
It’s all so tawdry, and cheap, and offensive.
I’m sure there’s a compound German word for this, like the mix of strange fascination, creeping unease, and repulsion you feel when watching a train wreck in slow motion.
