Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

The thing is, Harry and Meghan have not exactly made their announcement, launched their website and Meghan doing engagements because they DON'T want to be talked about, have they? They want attention. Part of courting attention means you get negative opinions too. So yes, as they keep putting themselves in the public eye the story will keep running because it gives people new material to discuss.

I don't know any Meghan supporters at all in real life.
A few people are sympathetic of her treatment by the press ( I am) but mostly the general consensus is we hope it works out and we don't have to hear about them anymore! The money comes up , but that always does about the royals anyway.

It is 1936 all over again and William and Kate are the dutiful family focused king and. Queen in contrast with Harry and Meghan as the Windsor's.

Yes I imagine the French Canadians are having a fit.

Her visits just show up the hypocrisy for all to see. She's mad really, if they wanted the best deal from the RF I think staying out of the public eye would be sensible. At least that would chime with the narrative.

Now she's just showing that she'll be a completely loose cannon which will be causing even more worry.

William and Kate are hard working. It's why they are popular. I think there will be a huge outpouring of sympathy for them as it was clear that the three of them were close before MM entered the scene.

I quite agree @mynameiswah .

And how strange that saying how odd it is that the H&M stuff has generated so many more posts than the Andrew and Epstein stuff is seen by some as an attempt to derail this thread .

This isn't a balanced debate ,it's just gossip .

Ahhh that’s why his friendship/involvement with a convicted paedophile isn’t discussed to the nth degree. If MM just stayed inside all would be well Unbelievable.
Why don't you start an Andrew thread?

I wonder who is picking which charities for Meghan to visit? I can imagine the conversation- Not Vancouver Rape Relief, too political! This one uses 'cis' on their website so you're on safe ground'. Or is she just deciding for herself what she likes the look of and emailing them?

Why would French Canadians be unhappy other than the fact they don't speak French? Have I missed something?

I read yesterdays thread after all the deletions. What is obvious is that if nobody responds to the people trying to get the thread deleted then eventually the posters go away. Well done yesterday for the posters who kept the thread going despite extreme provocation.

Reposted from last thread:

Reckon Meghan is preg again. She was wearing at open coat at her charity gig so the evidence is overwhelming Wink

Have also just checked out the Megs on tour article in the DM. The way she's sitting in that loose jumper looks like all she needs is a bride to upstage to announce it...

What is the process the RF use for choosing charites to visit? No doubt involves a number of high ranking people on large salaries .Must be superior to just picking those you like .

Well they keep giving us stuff to gossip about, so... I mean, nobody gave a shit when they were having a 7 week holiday. But now Meghan is courting the media so of course people are going to speculate. Is the next move going to be demanding this thread is moved to Sleb Twaddle?

@whitecremeegg

That's kind of reassuring to hear that some members of the RF are interested in the opinions of the Mums of the United Kingdom

Why is MM making visits to charities if she's stepping back from royal duties?

She probably imagines she can become the Duchess of Canada.

I’m interested to see how it plays out tbh. I’m not a royalist but started off thinking fine, good for them, why not.

I suspect most of the public would have supported them If they had come up with a plan (supported by the RF and at no cost to tax payers) and gone off into the sunset to live happily ever after.

But the way they’ve handled it has been hugely arrogant. Meghan is now deliberately pouring petrol onto the flames. Hotmail! Women’s refuge! Fgs, what IS she thinking?

I’m not a new poster either. And this is legitimately in the public interest IMO.

Morning all, just to let you all know I'm ok.

I'm going to admit, I very childishly giggled this morning on a post on the Toronto Zoo Facebook page, whish said "have you got the royal enclosure ready for Meghan?"

I shouldn't have spat my tea out, but I did. 🤣

Nothing wrong with gossip ,I find it interesting . I just think calling it "balanced debate" is odd .
So much on these threads is based on assumption but repeated as if it were fact .
I hope people don't form opinions on important issues ( and I don't think H&M are an important issue ) like this .

I am baffled by MM's actions. Dropping in at the woman's shelter, for what purpose? Just to sprinkle their lives with her royal stardust? Or to show she's just a normal, compassionate woman (with her £500 boots and close protection officer).

What is her educational and career background exactly, that qualifies her to have useful and knowledgeable opinions about climate change, or womens' rights, or equality?

Why on Earth does she think she is the equal of those people who have studied, trained and worked in these areas for decades? Essentially, she's just a gobby actress who didn't even graduate from university.

Andrews behaviour rightly garnered outrage and disbelief. Since he had stood down though what else would there be to say on this or any other threads? He’s laying low, either voluntarily or by force) so there’s very little to be said that hasn’t been said already.
Meghan and Harry however are still in the public eye - Harry doing pre arranged visits and Meghan by choice playing Canada’s roving morale booster and defender of women. There is plenty to speculate and comment on as she in particular is providing the material.

@peaceanddove - I believe that MM did graduate in Theatre Studies.

The climate stuff baffles me, this is a woman who can't go a day without getting on a plane. "Every footprint Counts".

I thought she graduated from Northwestern?

who didn't even graduate from university.

Hang on, I thought she did?

It's fame not subject expertise that allows her to speak on these topics, and that's a well established model. It's no different to Bono campaigning to make poverty history (though I accept many people find him / that annoying too). Where a celebrity has personal experience of what they speak about it helps - like Kylie Minogue talking about breast cancer checks, for example - and that's where Harry's military experience / bereavement come in for his causes. But it's not as if Meghan's unusual in doing this. The question really is how effective it is without the status her 'senior royal' position has conferred and for how long.
