Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

good grief, that squad thing.

Harry was getting plenty of love on the Invictus insta, some even calling him ‘king of our hearts’ 🤮.

I’m not really a royal watcher but suddenly have huge respect for William & Kate. Anyone else feel like this? He also lost his mother and stoically walked behind the carriage but had to shoulder the role of elder brother while Harry got the ‘poor baby’ attention, has also done military service but then chose a challenging job with air sea rescue when he could have chosen anything easier, does a lot more for charity than M&H, say what we like about affairs but they make their marriage work and are a team, have put the work in and weathered the years and are raising 3 happy and seemingly well adjusted DC. The huge weight of duty is on William, not Harry. Harry should be a support but this week just makes him look utterly selfish. Wills looked pissed off in that car photo yesterday, I don’t blame him.

I am horrified at how entrenched some people are on social media, and am extremely glad that the MN threads are not like that.

They are brothers, not enemies.

No-one is standing in the way of their stepping back from the full time Royal role. They need to work out how they will be living during the next few years, whilst their DC are small, and what that means for their future options when DC are older.

I suppose there must be some good reason why they did not just take a sabbatical, though one can't really see that from the outside. It would have been a good opportunity as well for some (credibility building) legwork in their chosen charitable fields.

It seems like they are passing up their obvious route to making a difference possibly globally) and right now it's not terribly easy to see how their current route would be better. Though obviously it is the one they prefer, so I hope it works out.

I've just posted on another thread that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is probably a better known brand at this point than the HRH the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A zillion threads to slag off meghan and how many on Andrew? It just doesn't compare. Why isn't he getting this treatment from these so-called royalists? If you really care you'd be more upset about him surely? Why isn't his every movement/facial expression/outfit/motivations being scrutinised to the same nth degree?

Andrew:

White
Male
Britsh
Royal
Paedo

Isn't it terrible. What a bastard.

Meghan:

Person of colour
Foreign
Woman
Doesn't bow down to anyone, not even the sacred British royal family

Wants to be FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT.

And the fragile Britsh ego can't take it. What a bitch! She MUST be cut down to size!

Report
GlitchStitch · 16/01/2020 10:04

Possibly because referring to someone as a 'paedo' could potentially be a bit of a legal minefield? Bit different to gossiping about stuff that a couple themselves are choosing to play out in the public eye.

Report
notmoresheep · 16/01/2020 10:07

there’s been plenty of chatter and scrutiny of Andrew.

Andrew has been criticised loads on royal threads and rightly so.

Does anyone else think it was really cheeky of them to ask to live at Windsor Castle? After all it’s well known that it’s the Queen’s favourite royal residence, the one she thinks of as home.

To be honest, this was one where I saw their side of it. Can't feel that sorry about someone with various luxury homes to choose from having to 'share' a castle with her grandson and his wife for the part of the time she lives there (she's at Sandringham from Dec to Feb, Balmoral all summer; isn't Windsor just for the 'other' weekends in the year?) She probably would hardly have crossed paths with them. And you might have thought she'd welcome the chance to see some more of them. So no, that seemed odd to me.

I think if Andrew was still swanning about doing royal engagements there’d be a lot more criticism, but he is keeping his head down at present.

Not as many threads about Andrew at all, I've never seen mn buzzing so much like it is about meghan, I'm sure a lot of posters on these threads joined recently to butch about meghan and Harry, it's disturbing how involved some of you are.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/01/2020 10:15

This is not a thread about Andrew. There are other places for you to vent your spleen. Nothing to see here...

Report
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/01/2020 10:16

...also as a tactic to derail the thread it's beginning to wear thin. I hope MNHQ will take note.

Why isn't his every movement/facial expression/outfit/motivations being scrutinised to the same nth degree? Because he's disappeared from public view.

Haven’t posted on these threads before but tbh I see this as Harry and MEgan becoming separate entities. He will fulfill royal duties here in the UK while she and his child are living in Canada and she is doing things in her own right.

Currently she’s trading off the royal name because to all intents and purposes she’s a royal, but I’m not convinced that they’re as together as they’re hoping we’ll believe. It’s just a bit too much of a coincidence that they’ve announced that they’re moving/stepping back and then in the same breath she’s flown back to Canada without him and he’s doing the separate thing in the UK.

I don’t think he’ll be going to Canada, and I think the truth will out in the coming months.

bohemia14 · 16/01/2020 10:31

@AllHeart1 I think he's only still in the UK because he has an engagement today. It wouldn't have been acceptable for him to pull out of it at short notice for no valid reason. I think he'll hot foot it back to Canada soon. I think they're very much together.

Andrew has taken the criticism on board, unlike H&M. It was him (allegedly) who decided to stand down. He's not looking for any extra attention like H&M are.

I also do not believe he is a paedophile. A stupid man, yes, but not a paedophile.

As I said on previous threads, I know members of the royal family. I didn't say we were besties but as we are part of the same circle, we do know some things. I've never met H or W though. Just know what I've heard from their family members, staff and friends.

H was considered a PITA long before Meghan came along. W is known to have always taken his responsibilities seriously and has always had one eye on the future and planned it carefully. Hence his long courtship of Kate.

PC and QE focused a lot on W and his future role which may again have been part of the problem with H behaviour. People who talk of princess school in Sweden - W actually had that kind of training grown up although it was longer term and not really given a name like 'prince school'.

You can see signs of W doing the same with his children now.

I know some RF members are MNetters though. Not their usernames before anyone asks. So its highly likely this thread is being looked at.

because he’s disappeared from public view. Ahhh that’s why his friendship/involvement with a convicted paedophile isn’t discussed to the nth degree. If MM just stayed inside all would be wellWink

Unbelievable.

Ok, I clarify: guilty of association with a paedo. He's possibly not one himself. But we don't really know for sure.

But I'm not saying what people aren't thinking anyway.

Can someone post links to the twitter accounts mentioned so that I don't need to trawl through the 5000 posts on the other threads Shock? I seem to be spending more time lurking on the royal family topic than on the feminist boards these days!!

I am at a complete loss to see how MM supporters can't see this woman for the fame obsessed attention seeker she so obviously is. The reason that nobody is talking about Andrew is because he has wisely been locked in a cupboard somewhere. More pathetic attempts by the MM support club to get this thread(s) deleted.

So now Canada has it's very own resident, working member of the RF it would be rude to refuse to pay for their security. They will also need somewhere to live, preferably provided by the taxpayer. French Canadians must be delighted.

DH just read the DM account of MM's visit to "climate Justice for Girls" and he quite rightly wants to know:

What about Climate Justice for Boys?
