I asked for MN to put it in the Royal Family topic as the subject is no longer headline news; but still ticking along. I think those people who are interested will find it and add their comments regardless of its location.

William and Kate will get a warm welcome everywhere they go.

They understand what MM does not: the RF are immensely privileged and rich - but the trade-off is having to appear in public and show an interest in subjects which may be very boring to them.

MM is clearly not keen to undertake the bread-and-butter royal work. It seems that she wants the sycophancy and riches only.

How was the women's refuge visit arranged so quickly and at whose request I wonder? The original plan was for them to be back in the uk so how is there a planned engagement in Vancouver?
She can't win now so were I her I would lie low and take the break she apparently so desperately needed.
Or else there are plenty of women's refuge's in the UK she could have visited-what's the difference?

I only caught the tail end of someone being interviewed this morning, sorry no idea who they were but what I found interesting was that they were defending Meghan (their prerogative of course) and made it clear that they were not a monarchist and didn’t pay any attention and wasn’t interested when H & M got married, so what I didn’t get is why she is interested now?

They have renounced their rights as a international protected person (usual status for senior members of RF) so there will be no security bills whilst they split their lives between UK and Canada.

Trexical, discussing M&H, given their current situation, sparked entirely by their own actions/decision making, is an entirely fair entry point into a more general discussion about the Royal Family. There is absolutely no basis to argue it is not.
