I asked for MN to put it in the Royal Family topic as the subject is no longer headline news; but still ticking along. I think those people who are interested will find it and add their comments regardless of its location.

The Granary only opened last year. The Castle of Mey belonged to the Queen Mother and she left it to Charles. He comes up every summer and is Chieftain of the Mey Highland Games. He gets more or less left alone up here, it's not unusual to see him out walking on his own in the early mornings with no obvious security with him. The castle staff run the B&B. Not sure about the Romanian one, but my mother wants to go and stay there, so I may find out!

I can''t believe Harry would have felt sidelined by the photo of the queen, PC, PW and George. That's how it has always been.

Also, if there is something in that then the RF really needs to have a rethink because in 20 years time or less there's going to be Charlotte and Louis also saying why weren't we in that photo and potentially becoming loose cannons like Harry.

I've made the point on other threads that this is why I think the model of a RF is damaging to children's mental health. It is not good to build these children up into being something special in the spotlight. I think that is becoming more and more difficult in terms of the public's acceptance of them. I think they should wind themselves up. Not great for this generation but the next generation or two they won't be so much reported on.

Harry's video about the Invictus games. He wants to step back from the RF. Clearly, this would be something he planned on carrying on. But how. Again it all goes back to them having their cake and eating it. Part-time duties doing stuff he wants then the rest of the time cashing in on the title.

I don't think that W&K moved into Anmer until 2015 when they had been married for 4 years? They started married life in Anglesey. The Queen terminated the previous tenants' of Anmer's lease early in 2013 so that it could be renovated in 2014-5 and lived in full time when W was working for the Air Ambulance.

I think that if they hadn't "stepped down" that H&M would have been offered a country house or perhaps given money to finance a house in Africa which seemed to be the original plan

I remember him being interviewed I think around the time Kate’s 3rd pregnancy was announced and he was asked if he minded (being pushed down) and he gave a really sarky answer which clearly showed he didn’t give a shit about being high in the line of succession.

On the plus side, once H&M are established on the other side of the Atlantic and have no need of private jets, the UK has a better chance of reaching its zero carbon emissions target by 2050.

Charlie boyo has holiday cottages available in Wales as well, but you can only rent them when he isn't at the main house. They look very nice, and the prices aren't bad.

I thought Harry would have been Given HighGrove; once Charles inherited the rest of the portfolio from the Queen.

I don't think he cares either. He and she wanted the 'popular vote', in my opinion. I think he thought they'd be loved. I think he was looking at how to get the popularity and love from the public that his mother had so that he wasn't side-lined and he thought Meghan could provide that with him. He got it all so wrong. That kind of thing takes years and also someone genuine.

Harry was already the most popular member of the RF after the Queen

He just wanted to get married and have kids. That was Meghan’s “in”.
She wanted to be as loved and popular as Diana and Harry was / is her shortcut
