Previous thread

I’m not the original OP of the series. That credit must go to @TheMustressMhor
I just stepped in when the last thread filled up with no replacement

There is still an appetite for discussion / gossip depending on your POV.
I asked for MN to put it in the Royal Family topic as the subject is no longer headline news; but still ticking along. I think those people who are interested will find it and add their comments regardless of its location.

Trexical, deductions are inferences made from facts. It cannot be false if the facts are true. Conjecture is different from deduction as it is a statement which is unproven but thought to be true.

I appreciate your reply Joyful.

I'm also interested in the court case. I posted on a thread at the time that it was a mistake because things will be exposed in court that might be damaging or embarrassing, I still think a statement that they have decided to drop it to focus on their new endeavours will be made at some point.

Harry’s sense of entitlement shines through in that video of him promoting Meghan to the head of Disney at the Lion King premiere. He says to Bob Igor “you sound surprised?” (at Meghan doing voice over work), as if that’s idiotic of Igor. I watched Suits from when it first appeared on Dave in the UK so have been aware of MM for longer than most, and I didn’t know she did voiceover work. Not that I followed her career particularly, but she did say she was giving up acting when she became engaged to Harry so it’s reasonable to assume she doesn’t do voice over work (anymore).

Also the way Harry referred to Meghan as “she” grated on me, it sounds rude and dismissive to me. But then I was brought up with my mother constantly saying “who’s she, the cats mother?” Wink

TheMustressMhor · 15/01/2020 14:50

I think she "dropped in" to the refuge to test the waters, so to speak. Just to find out what public opinion was doing, in the light of what is being said on social media.

diddl · 15/01/2020 14:51

Well for all the bleating about "living in a goldfish bowl", I wonder how they'll find it stepping out?

It's not as if they are in any danger of ever having to choose to "eat or heat" or even live in the real world!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 15/01/2020 14:52

Race is a social construct, just as gender is. Genetically speaking, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are more similar than Meghan Markle and Serena Williams, and not just because Meghan Markle is obviously mixed race. The next conversation which needs to happen is the recognition that focusing in simply on race is piss poor way to advance the dialogue on inequality based on ethic origins.

I could not agree more.

I have a feeling that the mail won’t feel particularly inclined towards doing M&H a favour and settling. If they felt they would lose and were so inclined they would have settled already.

The fact they are so publicly fighting it, says to me that actually they feel they have a strong case. Therefore, settling out of court would be purely for M&H benefit only - because as far as the Mail is concerned this is newspaper gold.

joyfull - you made up two false reports about Thomas Markle, yet I'm being goady? You're spreading lies about him basically as presenting them as fact.

Why? You said he has "literally" never met any of his grand children yet I gave you a picture. You could have checked this but assumed the worse about him - for your own narrative. It kind of knocks everything else you say apart - why? Because you can't be trusted to tell the truth.

DeRigueurMortis · 15/01/2020 14:58

Golly some of the comments under that Mail article about her visit to the shelter....

"I hope someone asked her if she's ok" was a standout.

joyfull "It was widely reported in the press that he had lied about his heart surgery, due to him being papped at McDonalds and the hospital he claimed the surgery took place at denying he was ever a patient."

So you believe everything you read in the press? You can't check facts and think for yourself?

PlacidPenelope · 15/01/2020 15:00

joyfullittlehippo I mean, a poster here admitted to literally cyberstalking me to try to dox me, and MNHQ confirmed she keeps creating new accounts to get around being banned, just so she can continue to attack Meghan, and not one single person has condemned her behaviour - in fact several have tried to deny or minimise it.

Neither I, nor I imagine many of the posters on this thread, are aware of your history with that poster, I don't know who they are or why they would do the above and I condemn it totally. I don't read the Reddit MN Thread(s) so am in complete ignorance of what goes on over there and why so am in no place to comment.

Mominatrix · 15/01/2020 15:01

I really don't think Joyfull is a liar, she is just guilty of confirmation bias, as are many of us.

JulietJanuary · 15/01/2020 15:01

I think hanging around on threads with people you despise is a bit sad.

I think all of this will make PH want her even more. I think he was attracted to her because she’s unconventional, like his mum. Now she’s even more removed from the whole RF and ‘life behind the walls’, he’ll be keen to keep hold of her.

I bet one custard cream biscuit we’ll have a pregnancy announcement and the case will be quietly dropped whilst deals are made with the red tops to shift the focus on pregnancy/birth etc exclusives.

annielouise · 15/01/2020 15:03

It was also widely reported that he had been in hospital and the evidence given. Why did joyfull ignore that?

Why did she think the worse of him that he'd never met his grandchildren? Took 2 minutes to confirm this was bollocks. She assumed the worse.

annielouise · 15/01/2020 15:03

She accused others of malicious false reporting when doing it herself!

MissEliza · 15/01/2020 15:04

I highly doubt the MOS will settle. I would imagine they have the best lawyers and wouldn't have published in the first place if they thought they'd lose a legal case. When's the last time a newspaper lost a lawsuit? Genuine question.

annielouise · 15/01/2020 15:05

joyfull: "Please explain how repeating something which was widely reported in the national and international press, who had evidence to back up their assertions, is “making false reports”?

Because there reports after that that showed they were rubbish that you chose to ignore. You should have fact checked. You've just gone with the narrative that he was scum as it suits your agenda.

Mominatrix · 15/01/2020 15:05

OK, I take it back regarding joyful, she is far to emotionally invested.

JulietJanuary · 15/01/2020 15:06

Joyful, your post about why you care was really interesting.

I have a "brother gone rogue!"

My very kind parents not knowing the grandkids was hurtful. So I'm probably a bit more unimpressed by the Sussexes than I might otherwise have been.

annielouise · 15/01/2020 15:06

"Please explain why all the other posters who have repeated tabloid lies about Meghan are not being bullied for “making malicious false reports”?"

That's nothing to do with me. Unlike you I don't believe everything I read and use my own brain and facts before I state opinion as fact. "literally"!

What a joke that you were so sure of yourself that you would put "literally" without checking. And these photos if you knew anything about her and her family you'd have known about.
