Basil has just gone back to the Vet.
Still no peeing.

Mrs G just back. Basil is staying in to have his bladder flushed again...

Is there a diagnosis?

Yes - very concerned. I can see him having to go into veterinary hospital fairly soon.
They never really worked out what was causing this last time - but did eventually get sorted.
Fingers crossed this can be resolved properly.

When Ali was ill with recurrent STIs, the vet said that if they couldn't resolve it then one fix is to essentially change the urethra/urine system so it is more like a female cat's urinary system. 😳 Hopefully Basil won't need a 'sex change"! Poor cat, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news.

@RumNotRun did you mean UTIs?🤭 I mean, STIs can certainly cause problems passing urine, but don't know whether the vets test for these....

Not great news I'm afraid.
He's now booked in for surgery to remove a crystal/stone that is too big for him to pass.
He'll need cage rest afterwards for 7 to 10 days. - That will be a nightmare...
Total bill (including spend to date) expected to be about 5k.
We can afford it - it's just as well, as the other choice the vet gave us was to pts, and he's otherwise far too healthy for that option.
