Ahh what lovely news for both Yes and Paper!!

Some celebratory Dreamies definitely in order.

Defiantlynot41 · 20/03/2024 16:31

We really need a dreamies icon on this board. Great news Papergirl and yes I often think of Fluffy ... and Just

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/03/2024 18:30

Oh that's fab Paper! Onwards and upwards 😁

Papergirl1968 · 20/03/2024 19:55

I’d hate to see his displeased face, Rum! 😂
Thanks, all x

Supersimkin2 · 20/03/2024 21:26

Yay Paper! Clear the road at once!

I honestly think what happened to Fluffy and her DH RIP is the worst anyone can face. They lost asbo too. She’s noble and funny and truly loving - but that pain must be something else. At least both her boys had her. I hope that’s not cold comfort to her cos it shouldn’t be.

Linney isn't talking to us.

Mr SB decided to paint something in the garden this evening, so we kept Linney in.

Cue hours of pitiful miaowing at the door.

Then he decided just to sit above Mr SB and glare at him.

@TheShellBeach that is a very displeased little furball!

Does Mr Yes even like Dreamies though?

Anniegetyourgun · 21/03/2024 17:21

Went round to Allergic's gaff this afternoon for tea and cake as we both had the day off work. Took some snaps of the furry ones. Here is a couple of corkers of Tobias, showing off the lovely fluffy whiteness of his frontage.

I did take one of the black panther queen, but to the backdrop of the litter tray which one of them (probably Tobias as he is a champion digger) had scattered everywhere just before I came round, as they do. Allergic said would I kindly not post that one unless I was able to edit out the crud. I am not talented in that direction so you'll just have to imagine a beautiful black cat gazing soulfully in the direction of the Giver of Ham. Maybe another time we'll get a good snap.

I'll ask when I see him tomorrow 😁

The amount of morphine he's on might affect his answer though 🤷🏼‍♀️

LostCats · 21/03/2024 18:38

Hee hee. Having had a fair amount of morphine before, I’d say Dreamies would be a hard yes 🤣

Papergirl1968 · 21/03/2024 18:55

Oh Tobias. It may have taken a year but he’s blossomed in confidence and is absolutely gorgeous. ❤️

TheShellBeach · 21/03/2024 19:41

What a difference in Tobias though. I remember him hiding in his igloo for ages and ages, when Allergic first brought him home.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/03/2024 20:00

Tobias is looking absolutely magnificent but dare I say slightly portly? 😁

Allergictoironing · 21/03/2024 20:11

I think the 2 best things to take away from those pics of my lovely boy is that a) he voluntarily came into the living room for ages when Annie was here rather than skulking upstairs and b) that lovely soft look in the one where he's looking off to the side he was gazing at me!

That isn't his "hiding" igloo btw, this one is in the living room whereas his safe place one is on their bed upstairs in their room.

LostCats · 21/03/2024 20:34

Ahh. How lovely that love look was at you Allergic!! ❤️❤️

TheShellBeach · 21/03/2024 21:43

Linney saw some birds on the telly so decided to investigate behind it. Here he is looking disappointed that he didn't find any.

Just musing, for no particular reason, on the way cats get one over on their humans.
About a year ago when dd was heavily pregnant and nest-building, she decreed the hall litter tray must be moved. It was smelly and unhygienic and created an unsightly impression when entering the house etc etc.
Matt continued to wee in the exact same spot where the litter tray had been, on the laminate floor, while staring at dd defiantly.
A few days later and numerous clean ups later dd gave in and the litter tray was quietly returned to its original place. 😹

TheShellBeach · 21/03/2024 21:57

Clever Matt!

OP posts:
Papergirl1968 · 21/03/2024 22:01

Matt also got one over on the dog many times by sitting on the stairs and refusing to let the dog up or down, and sitting by the back door leaving the dog unable to get in out of the rain.
Dog was a fairly sizeable Staffie, who adopted an expression that clearly said “help me, momma.”
Socks is usually known as Poor Socks because she has to have me standing guard when she’s eating, and now Matt has started trying to stop her using the litter tray so I will be commencing toileting guard duties too

JaceLancs · 21/03/2024 22:19

Finlay is having a quiet evening thankfully

I have to do toileting guard duties. It's because animals are very vulnerable to predators whilst doing the necessary. I'm not sure exactly what predators are in our bathroom (other than Leroy himself)... I guess shampoo bottles can get a bit aggressive 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oscar and Bubbles used to have free access to outdoors via the large, low set lounge windows. One of them would be trying to get back in while the other would sit there swiping obstructively. I'd open the window the other side, but the indoor cat would move over to guard that one as well. Eventually I'd have to go and let him/her in by the front door. Game over until next time.

That was in the summer, of course. During inclement weather they would have to ask to go out. I mean, there was a cat flap which they were both capable of using, but let's not be silly! Cat flaps are for when there are no humans around to open doors and windows. Bubbles would paw on the window because she wanted it open, not because she necessarily wanted to go out. If you weren't quick enough to respond she would get attention by knitting the curtains. I loved that little fuzzy fiend more than words can say, but everyone on this thread fully understands.
