I’ve been meaning to ask for a while - what do Picards family think of his breaking and entering of your house Shell?

Well, last winter, the children at his own house came and pleaded with him to "come home, Picard" but being a cat, he paid no attention.

And a couple of months before that, the mum appeared and manhandled him away. ("So this is where you disappear to, Picard. You're coming home now")

He still came back.

I do wonder if Linney goes to their house and eats all Picard's food.

Linney and Picard have a bromance going on, I think.

Neither of them is keen on Suzy, though. But she also comes and eats Linney's food, when he's asleep.

Oh, absolutely no problem, how would you even know unless Allergic or I told you? And how would he know what you said unless we told him? Don't be embarrassed, really. I forget their ages myself (memory like a... thing that doesn't remember things. On a good day, a sieve. On a bad day, a thing with... round things in).

I forget my DC's names, never mind their ages.

And I still tell them to put a warm coat on when they go out, even though the oldest is 40 and the youngest is 28.

Also, since DS2 (the 28 year old) moved to our village, he comes round several times a week especially at dinner time, and I frequently call him "Linney".

Your DS2 is kind of Linney's spiritual twin though, isn't he? It's allowed to confuse twins

As children, my sister and I laughed at how my grandfather would go through the names of all the children and grandchildren before getting the right one. I am now that age and do the same with the cats, often giving up halfway through and going for "oh whatever your name is".

I've been saying that since DS2 (the fourth child) was born - so long before I was an Old Lady.

Agreed. 9 out of our 10 cats arrived as kittens. The more the merrier 😁

I'm loving all these kitten pix!!!

These two handsome boys are Raki (my old grey cat who ended up living with a woman in the next street who called him Mr Grey 🤢) and Toad doing his Blue Steel pose (Zoolander reference).

Allergic, I think you should show Sybil's picture to your knight in shining armour, and see if Tobias can make it a hat trick.

Then who would Girlcat boss around while I'm at work or asleep? He was invited to apply for the position of Girlcat's Toyboy, which despite his little ways with me he admirably fulfills.

Also I don't want to have the hassle of breaking in yet another mistreated, shy & scared cat and I know perfectly well that next time I need another cat in my life that's exactly what I'll end up with (like they have all been to date).

Well if we are doing past cats - here's my previous grey girl (just to prove we have had proper short haired cats occasionally). I might even have a kitten photo of her somewhere (if I can find photos from about 1998)
