Think there is a problem with her right eye. (Not the one she punctured a few years ago. It's been funky fir a while. (Not unusual) but now she really doesn't like it being cleaned at all. Back to the vet tomorrow. Sod's Law being what it is. Cheddar is having a scale at polish at my parents vet 25 miles away tomorrow!

Poor Snorg. I hope it all goes well for both of your girls tomorrow, Toddler.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 12/02/2023 20:15

I wonder what rare and hideously expensive condition it is this time? Expensive day for you tomorrow!

Toddlerteaplease · 12/02/2023 20:27

I dread to think. The vet did notice a lesion on that eye a couple of weeks ago. But he stained it and was happy it was not an ulcer. It's not been bothering her until today. I don't understand how a completely dopey bean bag can get into so much trouble!

Harry says good luck to Snorg and Cheddar for tomorrow.

They're doing well between the three of them - Harry's skin condition has flared up and he looks like he's been in a fight. I have no idea what to do about it as last time he had a steroid injection it tipped him into heart failure. I suppose I could stick a plaster on his nose!

Wolfiefan · 12/02/2023 20:52

Oh bugger! Hope it’s nothing too serious.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/02/2023 21:26

Got to drop Cheddar off 25 miles away at 8.30 am. I'm supposed to be putting my feet up as my MS has flared up
Again. This is really not helpful!!

Wolfiefan · 12/02/2023 21:52

Ah but cats exist mostly to be unhelpful. Hope it’s resolved soon and you can put your feet up.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/02/2023 22:33

Wondering if I should have taken her to the emergency vet. She's very subdued. She's not hiding. But definitely avoiding me. I had to increase their excess to £200 and could really do with not spending anything unless it's essential. Will ring them first thing.

Could the cleaning itself be making it sore? Or could she just be protesting??

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 01:04

I did wonder that. I used a cotton pad with cooled boiled water and am wondering if it wasn't cool enough. But she's really quiet. Not wanting fuss.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 01:30

She's also super suspicious that I'm going to bundle her up into her carrier. Been to check on her as I can't sleep. She's got some clear discharge on her cheer. Really hope it's just tears and not the jelly from her eye. Though I can't imagine how she could have punctured it this time. But this is Snorg....

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 01:33

The noise she made when I cleaned it, was not a protest. She's normally pretty amenable to having them cleaned. Once we've established that it is happening, that is. I use those dry/sore eye drops on her. As they usually help if her eyes are a bit gunky. But she saw me with he bottle this morning and scarpered, which did make me laugh.

Oh no :(
Can you put off Cheddar's scale and polish, rearrange rather than wear yourself out during a flare?

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 02:00

I did think about it. But I've agreed with my manager to do office work this week, it's actually probably best just to get it done. She's got to be there as soon S they open. So no chance to cancel. My parents vet quoted £100 less than my own vet did. Hence why she's going there. They did Snorgs teeth a while ago as well.

Could you drop Snorg of at your parents vet if you are making the journey anyway?

Lovely pics btw.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 05:41

I did think about that. But it'll just get too complicated having lots of vets in the mix for her. If my usual vet can't fit her in, that's what I'll do.

Just went down to check on her, and she's looking a bit happier. She then came up and jumped on the bed. But I accidentally touched her head/ face and she didn't like it and has gone downstairs again. But I find it reassuring.

Good luck today. I hope Snorgs eye is OK.

Does a scale and polish require a GA?

Wolfiefan · 13/02/2023 07:16

Good luck for today. Here’s hoping it’s all sorted and soon. Also wondered if it could be an abscess or sore tooth making the whole area uncomfortable. Hope she’s happier soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 07:35

@Wolfiefan she only had her regular health check about 3 weeks ago, her teeth were checked then, and they said they were in good condition. She's behaving in exactly the same was as she was, after her fight with the cat in the garden. She did have some clear stuff come out as well. I'm actually wondering if she's got glaucoma. The vet wasn't concerned about the lesion he spotted at her check up.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 07:37

@Mumdiva99 yes it does require a GA.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 07:38

She had an abscess on her cheek last time, which is how I knew she had an issue. She's not been in any fights this time though!

Mumdiva99 · 13/02/2023 07:42

I hope all goes well today for both of them.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 13/02/2023 07:56

Good luck to both your gorgeous girls today
