Think there is a problem with her right eye. (Not the one she punctured a few years ago. It's been funky fir a while. (Not unusual) but now she really doesn't like it being cleaned at all. Back to the vet tomorrow. Sod's Law being what it is. Cheddar is having a scale at polish at my parents vet 25 miles away tomorrow!

Seems almost completely back to her usual self. Not happy that I let Cheddar out dir a turn around the garden, and not her. I told her I do t trust her not to get into trouble.

Who’d of though Snorg even knew how to get into trouble?

Is it too soon to make phantom of the opera quips?

Toddlerteaplease · 15/02/2023 19:20

Her late sister looked exactly like the phantom of the opera. I'm a bit disappointed that Snorg doesn't!
(Maia had part of her cheek bone removed as it was impinging on her jaw, and her mouth kept getting stuck open)

Found loads of knots. So she's had a really really bad hair cut. She's mortified that the vets will have to see it tomorrow when she goes fit her check up.

The vet who operated is very happy with how she is. And so am I!

She’s a little trooper.

Wolfiefan · 16/02/2023 09:36

Great news!

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2023 18:33

Facebook memories have reminded me that it's five years since she almost died on me from triaditis. I still have no idea how she survived that. And the vets were amazed! She really is a tough cookie!

How is she doing @Toddlerteaplease ?

Toddlerteaplease · 17/02/2023 14:55

Really well. She's not touched the wound. and seems pretty much back to normal. Seems to not see thing's directly in front of her. But she could just be being naughty and pushing cheddar out of the way. She's never done it before though.

LostCats · 17/02/2023 14:58

Her depth perception is probably wrecked.
I guess it will take her some time to adjust?
But am super glad she’s doing so well. That’s amazing!

Toddlerteaplease · 17/02/2023 15:25

Yes. I'm told that can be affected. She never ever leaves bits of meaty sticks. So she must not have seen them. Not sure about pushing Cheddar out of the way though.....maybe she thought Cheds had more soup!

Looking back through my Facebook memories for this week 5 years ago, when she was critically I'll with triaditis. Makes me realise what a tough cookie she is. So proud of her! 🥺😻😻😻

Back at vets for a post op check. The eye looks a bit swollen and there's a tiny bit of bleeding. She's got some antibiotics for a week. And will see again on Saturday.

Wolfiefan · 21/02/2023 11:46

Hope all goes well then.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 13:33

£26 for co amoxiclav tablets. That stuff is dirt cheap! We give it out like sweets at work!

That's cats for you. No cheap medication thank you.

Puddy wont even eat fresh salmon, has to be smoked salmon.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 17:48

I bought them a tube of liver pate, but the seem to struggle to eat it from the bowl.

Oh-no-how-sad

Guess you'll have to hand feed them

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 18:19

Yes I suspect so. I'm currently trying to explain that cats don't eat pancakes!

OP posts:
007DoubleOSeven · 21/02/2023 18:23

O contraire

I think you'll find cats rather enjoy pancakes!

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2023 04:22

I think the eye is looking a bit less swollen. She's had 4 doses of antibiotics. Which she takes well. Will nab some cause and saline and give it a clean today. I'm a but surprised that they don't put in a small wound drain immediately post op, as they did expect it to bleed.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2023 11:12

Infection and oozing have improved, but in true Snorg style, the wound is opening up. Have got some manuka honey to put on it. She was an absolute angel at the vet. The vet couldn't believe how good she was. They'll see her again on Thursday. And it may need a couple of stichrs under sedation. Struggling to get the honey out of the tube though!!

Put it in a mug of warm water for a bit, should make it runnier 😀
