Think there is a problem with her right eye. (Not the one she punctured a few years ago. It's been funky fir a while. (Not unusual) but now she really doesn't like it being cleaned at all. Back to the vet tomorrow. Sod's Law being what it is. Cheddar is having a scale at polish at my parents vet 25 miles away tomorrow!

Hoping it all goes smoothly and you can sleep well tonight.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 08:33

Magic has an appointment at 9.45. With my vet. Cheddar is currently hiding from a Huge boxer

I wish vets would partition their waiting areas. You always end up near a huge dog whose owner is oblivious to your cat and annoyingly chatty.

Good luck with them.

Wolfiefan · 13/02/2023 09:02

Poor Cheddar! Our vets has completely separate areas for cats and dogs thankfully.

Allergictoironing · 13/02/2023 09:20

My vet has an upstairs waiting room you can take cats (and other small animals) into if they aren't happy with dogs around. Mine don't give one about dogs bouncing around, even if they have a good old sniff at the crate. Which is good, as I often like to pet the cute dogs in the waiting room 😃. Also a good thing as my back seriously protests at lugging cat in heavy crate up the stairs - vet kindly offers if I have an upstairs appointment usually.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 09:39

My normal vet is pretty good at segregating them. Though this dog was enormous and very loud!

Magic is currently towing and hissing at the dogs in the queue for reception. I'm
Taking hat as a good sign that she cares that they are there.

Good girl Magic!

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 10:10

Still waiting. Apparently the vet she's seeing is dealing with an emergency. And the animal is in intensive care. But I have a free coffee, so that's fine!

It'll be something and nothing. Or something weird and wonderful
I'm sure she's related to Ollie Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 10:19

@Rebellious23 I suspect she is related to Ollie. Although I think Cheddar is a closer relation, as she behaves very similarly to him.

So in true Snorg style. She has a really nasty ulcer. It's very nearly perforated the eye. I've decided not even bother trying to treat it, and just her her out of pain asap. She's having her eye removed tomorrow. The vet agreed it was the right decision. I'm gutted as she's got the most beautiful eyes. But I know it's right as she is suffering. She's had lots of pain killers.

Rebellious23 · 13/02/2023 11:12

Oh snorg! She will adjust very quickly I'm sure and it's the right thing

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 11:20

I googled glaucoma last night and she fitted all the symptoms for that as well. So I had already mentally prepared myself for her to have her eye out. Absolutely no heroics for her. Her comfort is the only thing that matters. She thinks she'll look very fetching with a patch. And wants a parrot to perch on her shoulder.

Oh @Toddlerteaplease I am so sorry!!
I do hope her recovery goes smoothly.
Boone has a very appropriate Arrr he can teach her if she likes.

Very best wishes. What a morning for you!!

Allergictoironing · 13/02/2023 11:41

Aw poor Snorg. She's been lucky to keep it this long though, wasn't that the eye she injured badly before?

BTW, one of my SiL's Burmese went almost completely blind, think that was glaucoma, and carried on happily for years - they just had to be careful about not moving furniture about.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 13/02/2023 11:45

Oh shit I’m so sorry and I’m so glad you have insurance your poor girl doesn’t deserve this.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 12:02

@Allergictoironing no, that was the other one! I got a good look at her eyes the other day, as she was giving me the big eyes, and I didn't see anything then. So it's a bit odd.

Omg. Poor Snorg. And ouch to your credit card.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 13:24

Cheddar still waiting for her surgery, she'll be starving. But I bet she's flirting with all the staff.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 14:11

Magic is looking happier and has eaten almost all of the food I left out this morning.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 13/02/2023 15:23

Bless her. Hope she’s feeling better soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/02/2023 16:32
