RumNotRun you do know that if you get an identical bed so there's one each, both will immediately go off the bed? 😁

Get that infection sorted quickly Paper, we need you healthy & posting about the gorgeous Matt. And how ignominious it would be to survive the removal of a brain tumour only to succumb to an infection picked up from that operation!

We seem to have reached a pause in the integration of the lovely Tobias. He will happily sit in the igloo when I'm in the room, he will sniff an offered finger at about 2mm distance but NO touching, he will take chicken from my hand and only occasionally try to grab with his needle sharp talons (usually catching my fingers in the process). Girlcat sometimes wanders in the room if I'm there & the door is open, but only sniffs around a bit & studiously ignores the bed with the igloo & cat on top.

I would think Tobias would be losing the use of his legs if it wasn't for the food vanishing & the tray being used!

Pregnant Dd2 is in a flurry of nest building and as a result my house is cleaner and tidied than it has been for years.
She moved Matt's litter tray a few feet. Matt continued to wee in the old spot, staring her in the eye, just like he did when I tried to move it a year off so ago. After about the fifth time of cleaning up his puddles, DD has caved in and litter tray is back where it was. Matt 1, hoomans 0.
Allergic, it sounds to me like there is slow but steady progress. Think how far you've come in a week.
How's Ollie today, Rebel?

Rebel2 · 06/03/2023 11:31

He seems better! Urine is clear

Papergirl1968 · 06/03/2023 11:34

Fabulous!

I wondered why he didn't come down for breakfast this morning... 😁

Allergictoironing · 08/03/2023 09:05

Bloody snow! TBH I would be quite happy to at least try to get into the office today, but boss has said we are to stay at home as the conditions at Kings Hill are pretty bad. One of our main systems is down, so we can't do chunks of work. And I'm running out of stuff on my current project until more comes in, and was supposed to be getting something else handed over today in the office, so not exactly busy! Girlcat is of course very happy that she can summon me to her side whenever she wants near enough.

At least I canm catch up on the washing I failed to get round to do at the weekend.

I may try to bring Tobias out of his shell a bit later by trying some interactive play with a wand toy as well

Supersimkin2 · 08/03/2023 09:58

Time for Da Bird.

Prince and I in bed. Been out, inspected slush, hopped back in. Fur wiped down, little nap before elevenses.

Papergirl1968 · 08/03/2023 10:05

Me, ddog and Socks are still in bed too. Yes, the same bed!
Ddog has been ejected from dd2's bed because she has a friend staying for a couple of nights and also being heavily pregnant we thought it was time, so she didn't associate baby coming with being kicked out of dd's bed.
Amazingly Socks has been fine, happy to curl up one side of me with the dog on the other. Dog even sniffed at her a few mins ago without her hissing.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/03/2023 10:12

Hope all are well this morning, and everyone is coping with the snow.
Karl went out, clearly disapproved of the snow and returned promptly. He's now in the office windowsill, staring wistfully at a mallard perched on the boat.
FWK has sent me a few pics of Cedric to share. I felt I had to point out that she is looking frankly rather porky (Cedric, not FWK 😁).

Boone went out for his absurdly long morning wee this morning.
Because he took so long he was covered in snow by the end.
DH was apparently very ungracious and laughed!

Papergirl1968 · 08/03/2023 20:37

Socks was out all day in the sleet. Eventually at about 6.30pm she ventured close enough for me to grab her by the scruff of the neck and drag her in.
Surely any self respecting cat stays home in this weather!

Allergictoironing · 08/03/2023 21:02

So far today we have discovered that Tobias quite likes a sort of feather boa on a stick game. However he shows no interest at all in a laser pointer. I'm not going to use Girlcat's Da Bird in with him at present, partly because I mustn't forget it and leave it upstairs so it isn't to hand when Girlcat wants to play, and partly because I think it may be a bit too much for him at the mo. But I've ordered a similar fishing pole type toy to the feather boa one (which is v tatty as Girlcat likes to chew the feathers).

Bloody radio has decided it won't work off batteries, only mains power. Which would be fine, except the only cable I have for it is USB and I've lost my USB charger/adaptor 3 pin plug. Another on order, but he'll have to be without the radio tomorrow until I get in from work.

Supersimkin2 · 09/03/2023 11:19

Tinkly feather for Tobias is major progress.

Does anyone want a free year of cough the daily telegraph cough. I pressed the wrong button at Xmas for DM and they’re hassling me cos I haven’t used all the subs I bought. They’re VERY good at sweet animal stories (to leaven the attacks on the poor). Comments section priceless.

So nice to have a warm bed to go to when it’s snowy and cold outside.

Look at that glossy green eye full of crafty contentment.

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 01:02

Ollie has idiopathic cystitis. No stones, crystals, bacteria or UTI
The vet said for a tiny ancient cat his urine test was excellent so again with another weirdo Ollie thing Hmm

Papergirl1968 · 10/03/2023 03:43

I had to look up idiopathic - no known cause! While I guess some answers would have been nice, I'm so happy it's just a weirdo Ollie thing.
Easter eggs for cats anyone? I suspect my two would prefer Dreamies...

It's funny, I just can't think of Ollie as being old at all! Between here and Facebook, he just seems like a daft young cat. Not quite a kitten, but definitely not old! I will make it over there to meet him one of these days. I'm only half an hour away!

Supersimkin2 · 10/03/2023 08:42

Idiopathic can be a good sign cos it rules all the bad stuff out. Well done Ollie. Sort of, bless him. You both take it easy.

I’ve got to shoot in a min and Do Charity. Prince spent the coldest night of the year on my shoulder, conversationally scratching, washing and purring. He did my hair at dawn.
