We were out of space so I thought I'd do the honours

Ticklish are we? I’m cringeing with you, there’s something very, very rude about that bloody wooden stick getting up close and personal.

But I’d rather be washed than bitten. Toes are very moreish for kitties - baby mice.

Socks washed me and I tell her thank you but I'm clean enough. I'm sure they think we're dirty creatures because we don't spend hours grooming ourselves!

They would be horrified by some of the MN competitive washing/showering/bathing threads.

Papergirl1968 · 10/12/2022 16:45

They would indeed, TheShellBeach!

Supersimkin2 · 10/12/2022 18:12

I reckon Havelock starts them. Always ferreting away at his fur, that one.

Allergictoironing · 10/12/2022 18:16

Well going by some mn threads, fur (hair) on any part of the body except the head is the work of the devil and must be removed at every possible chance.....

Supersimkin2 · 10/12/2022 19:29

Yes - the tell is when OP advises depilation with the product promptly deposited on the furniture.

I swear Leroy's got a loom - he weaves his fur in. You cannot vac that shit out 😡

Although tbf DH reckons I shed as much as Leroy does

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/12/2022 23:52

I thought it was more the horror of having kitty sandpaper tongues rasping at ticklish feet 😮

I have ticklish feet but I don't mind sandpaper tongues.

I wonder what other weird behaviours my cats have that I think are perfectly normal ...

Allergictoironing · 11/12/2022 08:22

Ooh ooh Miss (puts hand up) - I've got a good one!

Both of mine love belly tickles, so obviously I need to overcome my dislike of plunging my fingers into the softest imaginable fur & stroke, while in Boycat's case he gives sort of rumbly snore-y purrs lying on his side and Girlcat almost silent purrs.

But I can't manipulate the sacred primordial pouch from the side, oh no! If I do, a back leg will hoick itself up and round my arm so the approach is from between the back legs, which will usually sort of clasp the arm with paws curled to hold it in place. Girlcat has been known to knead the arm with her back paws!

Obviously if the initial approach is from the back end between the legs that is preferred, but the legs still hold the arm in place. Back legs are also used to adjust the finger position, so I stroke in exactly the right spot for that moment.

I think Matt and my Big Boy are related.

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2022 12:43

Matt is a stunner, what a marvellous fudgy bum.

Prince has demanded to go out while I stand in the open doorway as artic blasts frolic. Twice.

Papergirl1968 · 11/12/2022 12:47

I was the filling in a cat sandwich in bed last night. They were so close that turning over was very difficult and I felt awful about having to disturb one of them so I could go to the toilet.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/12/2022 16:05

The tree is up. DS has been called several rude names for not being here. Leroy has been called many more rude names being here.

I've brushed fake snow off the furry bugger four times now... 🤦🏼‍♀️

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2022 18:49

It’s snowing here too. Prince has gone out for a festive punch-up with Ginger Bastard.

Pelo22 · 11/12/2022 20:36

Just icy here, Ollie is staying inside to make up for the cuddles he missed with me being out last night

Allergictoironing · 11/12/2022 20:47

Chucking down big squashy white flakes here in North Kent. At least an inch now settled on the car 😢

Snowcat. Only Lenny is daft enough to venture outside this morning.

Tried out a namechange - forgot to change it back. Bloody technology 🤣.

nettie434 · 12/12/2022 09:39

Lenny looks marvellous. What does TC do in the snow. Stay inside or redouble his efforts to besiege Chez Grumpy?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/12/2022 09:57

TC does indeed tend to stay at home more in inclement weather. I will of couse report any snowy sightings of him though 😼.

Allergictoironing · 12/12/2022 10:01

I am tired, stiff and grumpy this morning - thanks to Boycat. So please excuse the somewhat self-indulgent rant...

After being a pretty quiet cat for the last 6.5 years, Boycat has suddenly realised he is most likely part Oriental and is embracing his heritage. This mainly evidences in him channeling his inner Siamese and orating at length somewhat off key, but definitely a typical Siamese/Oriental shorthair type noise - and volume!

He is being somewhat indulged (even more) for attention at the mo due to his recent CKD diagnosis. So last night he had his in bed cuddle (which involves me in a somewhat awkward position) and went downstairs, and I started to drift off when I was woken by him singing the song of his people. I called out to him, and usually once he knows he has my attention he shuts up, but not last night.

Well he DID stop yelling, but next thing I know he's hoisted himself up on the bed and is peering into my face purring loudly. Lots of head scritches, then he turns round & plonks himself in his usual bedtime belly scritch position. I obliged, and he fell asleep until I dozed off whereupon he decided to go downstairs.

This could be considered reasonable, except he did it TWICE MORE. The yelling, the jumping on the bed demanding cuddles, falling asleep (and faintly snoring) then jumping back off when I drift off. Eventually settled down at about 2am, by which time I was awake enough it took me ages to get to sleep.

I now have to brace myself to go out & clear 2.5 inches of snow off my car to try to get to my Chiro appointment later. I know it's 2.5 inches, as I had to go outside last night to clear snow off the bloody satellite dish with a broom & measured it!

Pelo22 · 12/12/2022 10:31

Ollie is fuming I won't sit with the window open so he can go in and out at his leisure
Lots of wailing how unfair his life is
