We were out of space so I thought I'd do the honours

Matt looks guilty, which is the first time anyone ever saw a cat with that face. Poor Paper!!

Matt also looks fudgy and magnificent.

Prince has vanished. Not here for brekker, not in flat. Suspect targeting neighbour for snacks.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/11/2022 09:49

There is clearly something in the air at rhe moment. Mrs Grumpy was slashed by Sybil (drawing blood) a few nights ago when she tried to remove her from the living room at bed time. Don't think the attack was particularly deliberate, just misguided on Mrs Grumpy's part. 🙀

YesItsMeIDontCare · 18/11/2022 11:17

@Papergirl1968 - and that face does not give a single fuck.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/11/2022 13:02

I really should know better than to post in AIBU. Had a few run-ins this morning already 🤣.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/11/2022 13:04

@Papergirl1968

That really isn't a cat oozing repentance is it?

PeloFondo · 18/11/2022 14:07

I've just found Ollie peering in the toilet Confused
He's becoming more cat like by the day

Papergirl1968 · 18/11/2022 14:27

Matt says thanks Lana who describing him as magnificent, and stuff the rest of you.
He was quite happy being an only cat and has never quite come to terms with the arrival of Socks and the dog. Especially the dog. He growls and hisses at her, and smacks her with his paw, and she looks utterly bewildered by it.

Defiantlynot41 · 18/11/2022 17:30

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats that wants the "vicious bengal cat next door " thread was it? I did wonder ...

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/11/2022 17:33

Well it’s not the cats fault it’s a Bengal. It’s an accident of birth and he’s most likely a very good boy for whichever human is his favourite.

Quite right to Fat Matt. If people can’t appreciate your suffering sod them. Your doing your best.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/11/2022 18:04

@Defiantlynot41
That's the one, I really should step away from it, but I don't always know when to stop 🤣.
@Fluffycloudland77
I think the OP has a neighbour problem rather than a cat problem, but typically the cat haters are out in force on the thread.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/11/2022 18:08

I was very sympathetic when Asbo put next doors cat in hospital just before Christmas.

Ndn cat is a bit of a dick and ndn damaged dhs car parking so close his bumper touched but I was sympathetic on the inside.

Then I phoned dh and said you won’t believe what next door are saying about Bertie.

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 19:52

Prince is home. Alive, covered in blood, no claws left, but purring and has eaten.

He landed at speed on concrete from
two floors up. I can’t say the rest cos we’re having to call the police but the neighbours were utterly, utterly superb.

14 hours missing, 2 sightings and people from every flat jumping out to help search in the Pissing rain, rattling packets of cat sweets from their windows, Springing over walls etc., gladdens the heart. All the locals bust a gut.

Except one.

If he’s walking, has eaten and is sleeping peacefully after an ‘event’ at 3am I don’t need to vet him
tonight do I?

Defiantlynot41 · 18/11/2022 20:02

Oh Lana, what a shock. Lots of healing purrs to Prince

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 20:09

Thanks. I’ve had five shots of vodka. Prince had half an AGAIL
and he’s asleep.

RumNotRun · 18/11/2022 20:53

Oh my goodness, poor Prince!!! I hope the police are of help and if someone did this to Prince, I hope they...well, words escape me.

I hope you're ok too. I would have thought if he's walked, eaten, and seems ok then he could wait for the vet, but I am no expert.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/11/2022 20:54

Jesus Christ, you’re going to have to get a balcony safety fence up if your neighbours are like that what bastards!!!!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/11/2022 20:56

Bloody hell Super that's awful.
I'm sure Prince is happy to be home, and if there's no obvious broken bones I wouldn't be too bothered by a vet tonight. Anyway you're an experienced enough cat person to know what he needs. Give him a cuddle from me.

LostCats · 18/11/2022 21:00

Oh my god Super! I’m so glad he’s home!!!!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 18/11/2022 21:29

Did someone throw him off somewhere Super?

Poor poor baby 😢 I'm sending you both loads of (((hugs))) and Leroy sends a bonce boof.

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 21:36

Prince has had two pouches and a wee and returned to bed. He looks fine.

NDN got back from a big op on Monday just now and she’s locked Havelock in - I had to text her on the ward to warn her. Nice welcome home that was.

You’re so right about the fence Fluffy. Freaks live among us. Don’t we know it - more than most.

When I was 13 our tortie Woodle came home limping and covered with lead pellets. If you’ve ever eaten a pheasant (yum) you recognise them instantly cos you’ve gagged on them and spat them out. Everyone laffed at DM insisting the cat been shot. In inner London.

Turned out NDN’s ‘sensitive’ son had been shooting local cats and dogs out of his attic window. Luckily the evil little Dahmer had used a gun that in theory could have terminated a human, so the police took over. His mother’s squeals over his ‘healthy exploration as a teen’ cut no ice.

A peaceful evening to everyone - we rather deserve one after our welter of batterings this week.

Papergirl1968 · 18/11/2022 21:48

Oh Lana, there are no words for how horrified I am, while so relieved Prince seems ok. Massive hugs to you both. ((()))
See how he is in the morning x

Allergictoironing · 18/11/2022 22:07

That was one of my nightmares before I got cats, that some revolting little scrote would harm them. One of the reasons why I wanted indoor only cats.

As far as you can tell, did they just throw him off or did they do anything else to him? (Resists murderous urge to leap into car, drive into London & hunt down the bastard that did this wielding a mahoosive knife)

I hope he feels OK in the morning, and that you are a bit calmer now.. I would imagine he will be quite stiff, so vet in the morning may be a good idea. Plus if the Police ARE involved, having a vet report from the ones who see him regularly may help the case?

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 22:14

I don’t believe anything except attempted murder took place.

Smart thinking re vet report Allergic. He needs to rest up for now though.

If there’s any revenge slaying to be done, I’ll PM you. But for now the Feds can deal with it - there’s a lot of trouble coming someone’s way.

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 22:37

Peace at last.

Ollie, Prince, Leroy, Walter and Co...
Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2022 22:38

Flicky tail of happiness takes a momentary break.
