We were out of space so I thought I'd do the honours

If the Royal Canin doesn’t work, there are a number of other renal brands available. We went through all of them at great cost 🙄🙄🙄 before we discovered Purina Renal. Which is loved. Getting hold of it a pain so had to get 5kg bag.
But definitely do try other brands if he starts resisting as we were losing hope until we found the Purina one.

Best of luck and thinking of Boycat ❤️❤️

Allergictoironing · 06/11/2022 10:18

I've got the Hills kibble. That was recommended by my vet, they know I'll be buying elsewhere and Royal Canin is one they do themselves as well so not a brand loyalty bias on their part. They also supplied me with the Hills renal wet, but like with the majority of wet foods mine just lick the jelly/gravy off & leave dry chunks of meat in the bowl, so as they like pate style I've got them the RC loaf for wet. Luckily they have both always been decent drinkers, so he won't get dehydrated.

Currently giving them half and half the old wet and the Hills at least until the Zooplus order arrives (both treated exactly the same by them), don't want runny poo from fast food changes anyway. Luckily it turns out the RC indoor is supposed to be pretty decent for kidneys.

Sorry if I'm burbling on about this a bit, I waited 55 years to get cats and they, Boycat especially, have been my emotional supports & kept me going. And being ADHD, I research everything to death & yabber on about it!

Just been ambushed by two large domestic pets at the back door for trick or treat.

When I demurred yesterday cos I was mostly asleep, a large stool appeared in moments on the bathroom floor.

They’ve got the treat this morning.

LostCats · 06/11/2022 10:35

He is an extremely precious guy. I really really hope it is at least better than expected news from the vet xxx

Papergirl1968 · 06/11/2022 11:15

Is that stool as in poo, Lana? I've woken up to a huge one in the shower tray. I think someone is politely trying to tell me to clean the litter tray.

Supersimkin2 · 06/11/2022 22:26

so we both got that memo 😀 The tray here is glittering, gold dolphin 🐬 taps polished in bidet etc., row of liveried attendants bearing ironed linen towels etc.

Prince has weed on my onion patch. My fave historical fact: the Groom of the Stool, a historical and deeply prestigious job for the nobility, was first appointed by Henry VIIIs as his personal toilet slave.

Competition among the aristocracy was intense cos you got to do the loo chat and could petition the unfortunate monarch for hours while he tried to forget the cares of state, read Viz etc..

Paws just brought me something dead. I shrieked and slammed the window. Ollie is horrified and peering at him in disgust

YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/11/2022 15:58

Bit rude there Pelo! He's just being a good and useful family member - he doesn't see you in Tesco's on a Saturday morning so doesn't realise what a good hunter you actually are.

Why yes, yes I would have done exactly the same thing 😂

PeloFondo · 08/11/2022 10:38

Attempting to clip Ollies claws, I need another pair of hands Grin he's furious in his "I won't hurt mama but will GLARE HARD" kind of way

YesItsMeIDontCare · 08/11/2022 12:15

Is that a Paddington Bear Hard Stare?

I can't handle a Paddington Bear Hard Stare.

It's cold so Karl is cuddling up behind Basil to keep warm. I've always liked seeing cats curled up together, it does seem to belie the 'cats are solitary creatures' line.

I’m so hoping Havelock and Prince see this and take the hint. The cost of living crisis might propel them into sharing a box too. Ill wind and all that.

The news is full of a family in Filey who took in 103 cats in lockdown. By mistake. All is smiles as now ‘even the husband is a convert’ in time for five sets of kittens arriving next month.

Athenajm80 · 08/11/2022 19:49

Frank and Lexter have been lying next to each other all day. At one point last night I had five cats on the sofa, it isn't even that cold here but they've all decided they want to snuggle together which is cute

Very cosy setup.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 09/11/2022 19:59

I made a cosy setup for Leroy on the sofa... and he's actually using it 🤗

I'm touched 🥲

Look at how snoozly he is. Most gratifying.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 09/11/2022 22:36

<adds snoozly to personal lexicon>

Great photo. Prince is thinking, 'Royalty! Call that royalty. I am the reigning monarch around here!'

Ollie is determined to stick with a colour scheme, isn't he?

Ollie would love Walter.

I feel so bad for Walt lately. He just wants attention and I'm struggling to give him that. Life is so full-on at the moment!

We're now up to eight cats in my house! We've taken on a little black & white girl foster kitten to try and up her social skills. She is very chatty and loves a head rub but OMG do not try and pick her up! I have some deep scratches already.

The boy kittens have taken to her immediately. They are acting as if she is another sibling and she is interacting with them. The other cats aren't bothered by yet another kitten. I'll add a photo later
