I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

C oh tsk. Can you buy a pack of 10 from somewhere and just keep doling them out? He's putting them in A Safe Place you know. So they're his.

Mr C tried to jump onto the kitchen counter, where he spends many a happy hour reviewing the shopping, and fell down.

Into his water bowl. I didn't laugh luckily.

That would have been unforgivable, true. You were lucky that you managed to repress it. Grin

Somewhere in the house - and it's a roomy old place - is the 'hideout'. Tomorrow, I shall find a long thin implement of destruction and go fishing underneath furniture.

Tomorrow. Grin

I leave them until they reappear, seeing them as Mr C's private property. The catnip ball tends to turn up underfoot at 3am.

He doesn't much like his catnip ball. (It's not a ruddy MOUSE. Sad)

Ollivander84 · 11/01/2018 22:04

Ollie likes to dig out the random balls with bells from under the sofa at 3am

cozietoesie · 11/01/2018 22:16

Found two. Smile

What is it with cats and cardboard boxes? Grin

Ollivander84 · 11/01/2018 22:24

I have NO idea. He also loves gift bags although he likes to pull the cord/ribbon/tags off them. He's asleep in the box Hmm

RubbishMantra · 11/01/2018 22:58

Happy New Ears everyone! And every cat of course!

Have just caught up on new thread whilst watching a somewhat disturbing show in which Jedward get a makeover.

cozietoesie · 12/01/2018 00:11

One mouse has already disappeared. I guess I'll have to go 'fishing' tomorrow anyway.

Happy New Year, Mantra. Smile

Lanaorana2 · 12/01/2018 00:22

Yyayaya M! HNY to you and the boys. :)

Jedward?!* What fresh hell is this?! Grin

Just been called a bigot on another thread, to my glee, first time for everything eh. For saying I thought it was odd sending your kid to Eton when there are perfectly decent schools in London where you live ie not boarding. It seems wrong to do it now, even if all the elders did.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/01/2018 12:52

'I OK because I know that Mama will feed me more with extra treats because I such a gentlecat'.

cozietoesie · 12/01/2018 13:39

How did Waif get in by the way? Wink

Ollivander84 · 12/01/2018 14:13

Window was open! It always is when I'm home so Ollie can sit and look out or go outside

cozietoesie · 12/01/2018 14:16

Unh Huh. Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/01/2018 15:19

So glad to see you Mantra

I can never find the mice either. They just vanish.

cozietoesie · 12/01/2018 15:23

I could understand the 'vanishing' if they were real mice - but toy ones?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/01/2018 15:48

We're in a new build, there's no space to store stuff you want to store, so how has asbo found space to store squeaky mousie?.

cozietoesie · 12/01/2018 16:07

How many have you 'lost'? (Be kind.)

Ollivander84 · 12/01/2018 16:13

Update. Ollie doesn't like Waif cat going in his new favourite cardboard box 🙄🙄🙄

TheLongRider · 12/01/2018 16:17

Have there been fisticuffs or just growls of disapproval?

I told you she'd get cocky!

Ollivander84 · 12/01/2018 16:27

Growls. Ollie raised a paw Shock
It was all "eat my food, human strokes you, sleep on bed, all good. NOT MY BOX" HmmConfused
