I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

So you're not thinking immediately of acquiring another Bengal? Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2018 16:39

No, but one day. An adult rescue given up by quitters.

I'm what they called an "experienced Bengal owner" ie I am well downtrodden.

cozietoesie · 06/01/2018 18:16

Lordy. While ASBO is still around?

Lanaorana2 · 06/01/2018 19:07

Maybe asbo would like a lady friend?

Mind you, I sometimes think Mr C might be lonely then I think again pretty quick. He likes being the boss.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2018 19:21

In the dim & distant future when asbo is departed. Asbo has no need of lady friends. He is not like that. Trying to mate his sister was purely experimental & never lead to hiding the sausage.

Has anyone seen mantra around lately?.

cozietoesie · 06/01/2018 20:01

Not as I recall.

Lanaorana2 · 06/01/2018 21:10

Neither me. She might be frenzied, is getting kitchen done.

I am watching the best film ever, Kedi. On special offer on Amazon for 99p, was a fiver, to rent. Istanbul cats.

I bought a laser pen light. Ollie and NewWaif are both going crazy Grin

Lanaorana2 · 06/01/2018 22:27

F There is a Bengal in the film, Bengu, who is the Hollywood diva to end them all. It's beyond sweet.

O If you value your life or your reason, don't book a hol in Turkey. Ever.

I've just watched a YouTube video, she certainly enjoys a brush & a whos a pretty girl.

One video said Islam likes cats because they were the only animal allowed into Mohammed's prayer room. Which means even prophets of God can't put up with the endless miaowing & scrabbling & open the door to get some peace. I bet the cat nicked the nicest prayer mat to sleep on and refused to be moved.

O Would be mobbed.

cozietoesie · 06/01/2018 23:06

In Islam, cats are 'those who live amongst us' and are not unclean. You weren't far off, either, Fluffy. There is a tale that the Prophet found his favourite cat, one Muezza, sleeping upon his robe before prayer (I think) and cut off the sleeve on which she was sleeping rather than disturb her. Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/01/2018 23:17

Muezza was also said to have saved Mohammed from a snake, which is how she got the tabby M on her forehead.

Kedi is wonderful. Ollivander would be mobbed in Istanbul and TCN would probably have a stroke ....

Ollivander84 · 06/01/2018 23:48

I'm not going to Turkey. Ever. Can you even imagine? Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 07/01/2018 00:14

Avoid Morocco too, olivander , billions of street cats there too.
Although, to be fair, the locals did make efforts to feed them and provide shelter.
One cafe had a milk crate on it's side surrounded by traffic cones to house a kitten they were feeding.
Traders in the Medina asked me for handfulls of the kibble I ended up carrying in my handbag, so they could feed "their" strays.
I frequently saw chicken wings or boiled eggs left out for the cats.
It didn't cost me much to buy a few bags of food, but I imagine it would be a significant amount to a local. They mostly can't afford to shop in western style supermarkets like Carrefour.

Ollivander84 · 07/01/2018 00:33

Going through customs
"Anything to declare?"
"Yes. 70. Sorry, 71 cats"
Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/01/2018 08:48

They all looked well fed at least.

He's never seen the state of my windowsills Cozie, he wouldn't have classed them as clean then. Im surprised the paint hasn't worn off.

Desperately hoping that a couple of fat females hold on for just a little longer ....

Lanaorana2 · 07/01/2018 12:27

'Post-Brexit customs rules state the minimum import of cats is, er, 84, Madam.

'Kittens are subject to separate jurisdiction. Basically, you can keep them in your bra for now.

'Shall I hold your handbag while you check the airport bins?'

The good thing about NM is that it doesn't seem to go 'off' or dry up during the day. Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/01/2018 17:06

Are you going to pop a paper collar on her Ollivander?

Ollivander84 · 07/01/2018 17:13

No, I know which house she lives at Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/01/2018 17:17

Ollivander Towers? Or elsewhere? I'm getting a bit confused with all the cats in your area!

Ollivander84 · 07/01/2018 17:25

She lives about 9 houses away on my road
