I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

It certainly will, motor trade is easier on backs than support work.

Service team leader, that's a good job to aim for. Dh works with several female stl. Stressful but if what I saw on that ambulance control room to show is a representative of what it's like uk wide then not stressful at all.

Badly. NB has vanished, as has the seller of the house to whom my piteous emails remain unanswered. NB does have a home, but who knows what's going on.

He has vanished before tho', and while damp, it is not cold here. He has a plastic cat kennel down there, which I put there before Xmas. It's large enough and hooded, was Mr C's carrying box, I customised it. It's not the full des res but it works.

The caretaker is now followed everywhere with screams of joy by crowds of portly local cats. Think a very, very grumpy gong-wielding Pied Piper.

NB's house has no instructions. The caretaker has gone from looking grim to slightly wild-eyed and stands in his office weakly waving a screwdriver, while a spherical ginger tom weaves round his legs. A huge black cat is sitting in his chair.There are overflowing cat bowls under every NO PETS sign in the building.

Really windy last night, I'm going to ring Battersea to see what they suggest re NB.

Talk about wind - sorry to lower the tone, but honestly, Mr C's manners. Last night in bed he did a massive growling belch, then a rip-roaring megafart. Woke up to see him swishing his tail happily so it all went on my side of the bed.

I too am a Yellow sticker fiend lana.as an activity, it is called yellsticking. I am the only human occupant here but have a huuuuuge freezer. Go figure!

Weirdly, on Boxing Day pm, I heard terrible crying outside and opened the door to my own poor little match stick girl ( boy) - the spit of Balls, and barely more than a kit. Took him in, vets next day for scan and he lives round the corner

I called him Percy

My three were very tolerant of him during his short sojourn.

So I have a confession to make. Well, more a realisation
Balls is not Balls. Photo one is Balls. Photo 2 is my new waif and stray. That's why it didn't have Balls, because it isn't "Balls the cat"

I don't know how you cope O. It's a white-knuckle ride 24/7 with one middle-aged tabby for me, let alone you trying to manage with every spare cat in the UK materialising on the bed/in your omelettes.

Well, the vet ( not my usual one) told me to let him out to find his way home.
Obviously I did not do that.
So, when vet was momentarily distracted, I looked at the screen, clocked the address ... and knocked.
Owner said had been away for a night and left food down.
So Percy went home.
Twice a day I look to check there is activity in his house.
Poor darling little Percy

I can feel a kitten calendar coming on. Ollie and Waif's babies, oh really feel the sweetness.

Boast: I've just completed a jewellery repair with Poundland tweezers, a tiny bit of gold wire from ebay's industrial bit for 90p and a series of Old English words, saving a fortune at the jeweller's. I'm not even sure where to go for repairs these days except somewhere in Knightsbridge (because that's going to happen).

Off to turn the creme brulee torch into a solder flame....
