Evening all, this is a new thread all about gorgeous Heidi, following on from the thread started by Gatekeeper.

We answered her thread call to give this tiny kitty a new home and we drove from Devon to Durham and back in 24hours to do so...

Now Heidi is settling well at our place after being looked after perfectly by Gatekeeper, and this thread is all about the new life of a very little and brave cat with the bushiest tale known to catkind!

If anyone can link to the original thread it would be much appreciated :)

You can get their DNA tested to find out their origins. May well be rather pricey though.

SteelyPip · 29/11/2017 08:33

I'm really enjoying this thread! Hope you can post more pictures of the gorgeous girl!

Gatekeeper · 29/11/2017 08:34

Haha Pingu..I am v well behaved though and named after a butterfly rather than some rowdy moocher after a free drink Wink
I have visions of you sitting down , pouring milk over Pedigree Chum and tucking in, half asleep!

Horsemad · 29/11/2017 08:37

She is gorgeous! So glad you got her, what a lovely ending.

She reminds me very much of my girl, except mine is tortie and white. Mine also has the tufty feet and the magnificent 'brush' tail Smile

Siberians were also on the image I linked to. I've managed to attach it now Grin

Gatekeeper · 29/11/2017 09:01

Awww, Horse mad...she is Lovely

StewPots · 29/11/2017 09:05

Thanks @ferrier SmileShe has an angular head, tufty ears inside, out and on top, very fluffy back legs (she lets me stroke them! ShockShock) and the stance so is more like Maine Coon than a Siberian or NFC.

But whatever she is I don't care because I love her so much already :) it's fun to see what she might be (if only in her little tiny mind :))

StewPots · 29/11/2017 09:06

She lets us stroke her everywhere. Literally everywhere. There was a meme on Twitter a few weeks back about where on a cat you could stroke. It was very funny and so true.

I'll see if I can find it but it doesn't seem to apply to Heidi Smile

OP posts:
ferrier · 29/11/2017 09:08

She is indeed gorgeous - but I am rather biased - have always had long haired cats - mostly moggies but the last two nfcs and they definitely have personalities to set them apart (as do Maine Coons Smile).

StewPots · 29/11/2017 09:08

Here it is GrinThen someone did a dog one which was basically just a Labrador silhouette with "YES" written on it Grin

ferrier · 29/11/2017 09:28

Oh my lord - I don't think that applies to any of our breeds!
Probably only applied to one of my cats and she was a rescue.

StewPots · 29/11/2017 09:40

Haha @ferrier it did apply to one of my cats, Alice. If you went outside the "safe zone" you were a complete fool and it was your own fault Grinalso applies to one of MIL cats but the other is a "YES" kitty!

Horsemad · 29/11/2017 09:43

Ours loves lots of fussing, you can touch her anywhere, she loves it.

She adores my DH - sits outside the bathroom when he has a shower, miaowing until he comes out.

I think mine resembles a MC on ferrier's image.

She has fluffy 'pantaloons' Grin and her coat never seems to get matted.

Everything in the house is covered in cat hair though... Grin

StewPots · 29/11/2017 19:27

Evening all :) Heidi has had a frankly exhausting day of being fussed and loved and played with, especially by my DM. She loves cats anyway but I really though she was going to try and sneak Heidi into her tote bag! Grin

I got her two new toys today...those birds on the stick with elastic on? Well she bit through them both so we had to chuck the sticks and elastic away, so now she's left with just the toy birds ShockGrinDH and I think on that basis, pupper toys are the way forward!

Here she is after a hard day's Heiding around....

So glad she has a lovely home now and is safe :)

TheSassyAssassin · 29/11/2017 19:29

Lovely pics Smile Hope you get more sleep tonight!

StewPots · 29/11/2017 19:43

Thanks Bullet and yes @TheSassyAssassin me too! I'm in bed now having taken a Sominex so if she does wake me I can drop back off. 3 12 hour shifts in a row start tomorrow so I need my sleep!

DM is coming to sit with her tomorrow so she's not on her own then DS, DM, DH and DD all about Friday whilst I'm at work - Same Saturday, so the Heidi Appreciation & Attention Club is certainly out in force Grin

V spoilt puddy Wink Sweet dreams StewPots!

Weedsnseeds1 · 29/11/2017 20:32

From log store to luxury, she's a lucky and gorgeous cat!!
She looks like a mix of all three of those diagrams to me, but probably not big enough to be a pure bred anything. That's not the point though, it's personality that counts and she sounds perfectSmile
And yes, from the yowling, spraying etc. vet's visit for spay is a must!!!

RamblinRosie · 29/11/2017 22:46

Oh dear, your lovely Heidi, looks and sounds, just like my Muffin.... Floofy feet, ear tufts, a nice neck ruff and a fluffy tail, very vocal and loves water.

Settled in immediately, nice to my little female cat, (mostly) tolerant of the greedy git who moved in a year later.

If he thinks I'm oversleeping, he pats my face or licks my nose.

So, all gorgeous, but somehow he runs the entire house, we both run around, turning taps on and off, he grazes, so we feed on demand. An iron fist in a velvet paw!

I've had cats for 35 years and he's the most manipulative and intelligent I've ever had.

I've been told mine looks and behaves like a Norwegian Forest Cat, but he's only 4.5kg, so we've decided he's a British Shrubbery Cat!!

Look forward to being an abject slave family Grin.

Oh and, brilliantly done, sounds like you've got a stonker!

Morning everyone :)

Thought I'd drop in with an update. Heidi has been here a week today and she's settled perfectly. Still yowling at night a bit but figured she is calling to get in/out of places and looking for everyone :)

She's eating loads at the moment and really filling out. DH an I were saying last night that she's looking longer already but that might be our knackered eyes Grin

Vets are fully booked this week but looks like she will be heading in for her op the week after, I think she will take it well. Do they change after being spayed? Female cats I've had before were done very early so didn't affect their personality but I don't know if it would change an older cat?

She's so utterly loving and gorgeous, last few nights she's been sleeping with DD in her room downstairs, and coming up to say hello to us.

Oh and she buries her head in your neck, does the kneading thing whilst purring but also licks your clothes at the same time Grinit's kinda gross but very cute and lovely at the same time!

So that's our HeidiCat for now :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/12/2017 10:15

Spaying doesn't alter personality. It's lovely how she's settled so well.

TheSassyAssassin · 03/12/2017 10:32

Aww lovely update! Xmas Smile
