The Life Of Heidi! Adventures of a Durham kitty in Devon.

Evening all, this is a new thread all about gorgeous Heidi, following on from the thread started by Gatekeeper.

We answered her thread call to give this tiny kitty a new home and we drove from Devon to Durham and back in 24hours to do so...

Now Heidi is settling well at our place after being looked after perfectly by Gatekeeper, and this thread is all about the new life of a very little and brave cat with the bushiest tale known to catkind!

If anyone can link to the original thread it would be much appreciated :)

Phew! So pleased she's home safely.

Want2beme · 23/12/2017 07:42

YAY. She's a little rascal. Have a lovely day with her. So glad she's homeGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2017 07:46

Such good news. Even if she is pg they can spay anyway.

StewPots · 23/12/2017 08:03

She obviously wanted food when she got in but as she missed dinner last night and had been a stop out she's been demanding extra, and as I'm a softy I can her another pouch and a ton of Dreamies :)

She's now sat with DH on the bed, I think she will be asleep for the majority of today!

I'm so glad she's back safe and sound! Enjoy the 'sorry mum' cuddles Smile

TheSassyAssassin · 23/12/2017 08:25

Knew she'd be back! So pleased for you Xmas Smile we'll have one of her kittens Xmas Grin

BluebellTheDonkey · 23/12/2017 08:28

Yay!GrinGrinGrin That is wonderful news naughty Heidi I bet her hungry tummy brought her home, at least she knows the way back! Lots of cuddles (and a few stern looks) todaySmile

StewPots · 23/12/2017 08:51

She's now in her favourite hiding place under the dining table curled up on the chair, no doubt stuffed full of food and treats! DD still asleep but will be so happy she's home, she was distraught last night.

Well at least you know she's completely bonded to you which means if she can have the op then she'll be happy to go out and come home to you again Xmas Smile

BulletFox · 23/12/2017 09:16

Little minx Grin

So glad she's back at home.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 23/12/2017 09:41

Naughty girl! Suspect you'd better see that vet ASAP ....

Gatekeeper · 23/12/2017 15:03

eeee, I hope you gave her a good talking to and wagged your finger, coming home with the milk indeed

Weedsnseeds1 · 23/12/2017 15:46

What a fright! At least you can be sure she knows where she lives though and she's not going to try to hitchhike back to Durham!

overnightangel · 23/12/2017 16:37

So glad she’s back it’s a horrible feeling when that happens.
Hope it’s a lovely Christmas with her and the clan @Stewpots!

ZebraOwl · 24/12/2017 06:20

Just read both Heidi!threads in one go. Should ask MNHQ to add a warning for those of us with heart conditions, frankly. Those of us who can read, I mean, I don't imagine Heidi needs warning about it... (Also, is it just me who is reminded of how wonderful the NHS is every time they see a vet bill? I mean the costs aren't going to be exactly parallel I know, but...)

So lovely hearing that Heidi has found such a fantastic new home. Obviously am very sorry to hear she's a heart murmur & needs specialist input - I very much hope that the outcome of that is as positive as it can be. Heidi is a gorgeous wee kitt & it sounds like she loves her new humans & home very much - I hope you have a very happy Christmas Flowers

StewPots · 24/12/2017 08:22

@Gatekeeper I know, the little hussy! I honestly convinced myself I wasn't going to see her again and she had left me so I was very happy to see her little face at the door!

@ZebraOwl thank you :) A very Merry Christmas to you and yours too Wine

@overnightangel thank you :) that thought actually crossed my stressed little mind the other night Grin

Well, I have a cat that, like all the other kitties out there, would probably run through fire for a Dreamie. She has the ones filled with cheese at the moment, oh my god her eyes go wide, she literally claws her way up our legs when we are opening the packet....then tries to get your fingers to lick the dust!

I can see now the true cost of this kitty crack epidemic Grin

Was DD thrilled when she found her back safe and sound? Hope you have a lovely first Christmas together. In fact Happy Christmas to everyone on this lovely thread! Xmas Smile

StewPots · 24/12/2017 08:58

@TheSassyAssassin yes she was really happy, woke her up at 5.30 to tell her and she didn't even care!

Yes a very Happy Christmas to everyone who has followed Heidi's adventures (and they've been epic it seems for such a small cat!) and hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow!

Heidi is currently being carted away from the bin as she keeps trying to lick the empty meat wrappers - I'm telling you, she's Harry reincarnated as a cat as he spent half his life trying to haul stuff out that bloody bin! Grin

TheSassyAssassin · 24/12/2017 09:01

Awww...so pleased for your DD bless her Xmas Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2017 10:37

Dh woke me at 4am to tell me the cat was back. We lived rurally so I wasn't worried.

Nijinsky has worked out how to knock the kitchen bin over, nudge the lid (it's a pedal bin) open if it's not fallen in a helpful position, then haul out the contents in hopes of Something To Chomp. Balanchine is not averse to lending him a paw with this.

I should probably explain at this point that I'm vegan & my brother is vegetarian (& spends most of his time in a different city) so there's not actually all that much in the bin (especially given we Recycle All The Things) to attract feline attention...

Glad Heidi's on such good form. (Also slightly amused by Heidi-in-the-bin as my [very nice & very-good-at-her-job] MP is called Heidi & my Tiny Mind momentarily put her into the picture... I didn't get any sleep last night. I fear it shows.)

overnightangel · 24/12/2017 13:52

Merry Christmas to you to @stewpots , @gatekeeper, Heidi of course, and everyone who’s followed or posted on the threads, looking and this has really cheered me up with such lovely amazing caring people .
