Evening all, this is a new thread all about gorgeous Heidi, following on from the thread started by Gatekeeper.

We answered her thread call to give this tiny kitty a new home and we drove from Devon to Durham and back in 24hours to do so...

Now Heidi is settling well at our place after being looked after perfectly by Gatekeeper, and this thread is all about the new life of a very little and brave cat with the bushiest tale known to catkind!

If anyone can link to the original thread it would be much appreciated :)

Thinking of you, I am sure she is just relishing her freedom and will be home soon, but I really do understand the worry, I've been there. Come back and update us, good luck.

TheSassyAssassin · 22/12/2017 22:36

I know you're worried lovely but try to get some rest. She'll be demanding food and cuddles before you know it! Flowers

BluebellTheDonkey · 22/12/2017 22:36

Yes she'll stroll in soon I bet. Thanks

StewPots · 22/12/2017 22:40

Thank you for all your kind words. DD is distraught. We feel like the worlds worst cat owners :( I couldn't bear not to see her again :(

No you're not the world's worst cat owners, it happens all the time. She obviously wanted a taste of the outdoors and took her chance! She'll come back, she loves you.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 22:49

If she's have been spayed I would have been less worried but because she can't have it done until we get her results from the vets... I had a really shitty day at work and was so looking forward to seeing her and having strokes :(

BulletFox · 22/12/2017 23:11

Oh I'm sorry, it hasn't been very long, hopefully she's just exploring.

There was another poster on here whose cat went missing for quite a few days but she called it every night and the vet reckoned that gave the cat the courage to eventually limp home (it had a leg injury)

Don't fret too much tonight but keep calling when you can :)

StewPots · 22/12/2017 23:14

Our little cul de sac is so quiet with a lot of young kids on our row so I can't call much. I'm going out calling quietly and tapping her bowl still though.

I just keep thinking I can hear her but I know it's my mind playing tricks.

I just took a look at the threads, there are some stories about cats going missing and what to do under 'out cat's gone missing for 4 days' below.

Sorry you're missing kitty cuddles (with mine it's more struggle cuddles Grin), honestly don't worry too much tonight.

Does she have a catflap?

StewPots · 22/12/2017 23:25

@BulletFox no we were just saying yesterday that if she can have the op to be spayed where we would fit one and had decided on that.

Do you have a car out front? Our boy likes sitting under our car on our drive🙄

I spent an evening calling and calling for him once and then DP saw him calmly saunter out from under our car to come back in right when I was convinced I’d lost him.

He does it a lot goes and sits under the car and jumps out at unsuspecting cats or dogs walking past our house. He’s a little shit tho a complete asbo cat.

Namethecat · 22/12/2017 23:28

If not tonight, I hope she's on your doorstep in the morning.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 23:32

@fuzzywuzzy we do but we've checked and nothing. We checked under cars all along our street too.

I'm so tired from no sleep and work but I know I won't rest much tonight.

Oh I’m so sorry
My last indoor cat was only next door hiding under the decking thinking of you x

StewPots · 22/12/2017 23:56

@overnightangel thank you. DH has just gone and had another look and a call but nothing yet.

I hope you get some rest Stew. Sassycat is out somewhere at mo but am busy present wrapping so she can go run off some energy for a bit before I go call her. Am really sure Heidi will come home. Sending hugs and positive thoughts x

StewPots · 23/12/2017 00:02

@TheSassyAssassin thank you. DH is wrapping presents to take his mind off it, I'm just sat staring out the window to be honest. I haven't eaten much today but I can't face eating now I'm so worried x

TheSassyAssassin · 23/12/2017 00:06

Go make yourself a cuppa and find something sweet to eat. Give yourself 10 mins to drink it and then go out front and back and do another treat shake / call. Thinking of you x

StewPots · 23/12/2017 05:36

She's home!!! Woke up on sofa at 5 and got dressing gown on to go have another look, got to the front door and could see a kitty shape outside so I flung the door open and there she was!

Ran in up to me so I obviously had massive cuddles then she was squirming for food!

I'm so glad she's back, you will no doubt know the relief I'm feeling! But straight to the vets after Christmas and see what we can do about spaying (hopefully test results will be back then too) because I really hope she's not pregnant :(

Thank you for all being there in my mad panic last night. I've just climbed into bed and she's here next to me purring away after a huge bowl of food! :) :)

MirandaWest · 23/12/2017 06:07

So glad she's back Smile

Greenshoots1 · 23/12/2017 06:09

I'm so happy!

TheLongRider · 23/12/2017 06:15

Phew, it is horrible when cats do that. Good luck keeping her inside. She may well try and escape again.

HoHoHorsemad · 23/12/2017 06:16

Phew! Relieved to hear she is back. Smile

ANewDoll · 23/12/2017 06:16

Brilliant news - have been checking throughout the night for an update and am absolutely over the moon for you.

StewPots · 23/12/2017 06:17

Thanks all. I've no doubt she will try again, so I'll get onto vets next week and if she really can't be spayed then see what the alternatives are. I just really hope she's not been had by one of the toms round here!

I had awful scenarios running through my head last night, just so so glad she's home Smile
