Evening all, this is a new thread all about gorgeous Heidi, following on from the thread started by Gatekeeper.

We answered her thread call to give this tiny kitty a new home and we drove from Devon to Durham and back in 24hours to do so...

Now Heidi is settling well at our place after being looked after perfectly by Gatekeeper, and this thread is all about the new life of a very little and brave cat with the bushiest tale known to catkind!

If anyone can link to the original thread it would be much appreciated :)

Here she is today sunning herself on the sofa. Not sure why but she loves the dressing gown I'm wearing, loves to knead it and occasionally lick it Grinstrange little cat!

“no doubt boxing DH in the face to get up for work”

The cutest and best alarm clock ever!! Smile

Horsemad · 18/12/2017 17:32

Aww, she's a beaut! Smile

overnightangel · 18/12/2017 18:10

I think she knows she’s special 🙂(and she is)

overnightangel · 20/12/2017 19:02

How is the little bean doing?

StewPots · 21/12/2017 22:45

@overnightangel sorry I'm back to back 8-8s at the mo, only just caught up Grin

She's great thank you, scoffing away and trying to nick our stuff too. Left some cheese spread on crackers on the side last night, didn't eat it as Heidi cat decided to lick the cheese off it HmmGrinwill watch my food in future!

She's literally my shadow. If o go upstairs she follows, if I go for a shower she waits outside the bathroom door or occasionally in the bathroom itself.

We all just love her. She's more into female company than male though. She lets DH stroke her etc but doesn't follow him or DS around (unless they are carrying food!) but follows me and DD about constantly Grin

She's a special puss Xmas Smile

BulletFox · 21/12/2017 23:42

She's beautiful:)

It's really special how you met, as well

EachandEveryone · 22/12/2017 01:31

Do you think she will stay an indoor cat?

overnightangel · 22/12/2017 17:57

Thanks for the update @Stewpots, sounds like she’s going to make Christmas extra special in your house this year (tree related incidents notwithstanding!)
Glad to hear she’s doing well 😸

shhhfastasleep · 22/12/2017 18:14

Sounds like a fab new boss. Our cat routinely accompanied each of us to the loo. Her Litter Tray is in the bathroom so she often ... ahem.. goes at the same time.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 21:32

Please give me some advice Heidi ran out the door as DD was getting a parcel off delivery man tonight she's been gone over an hour now we are searching high and low and no sign I'm absolutely worried sick and can't believe this has happened!

Came home to find DD and DH looking for her but she went off so quick they didn't see which way she went :(

I'm absolutely devastated and in tears here I'm worried she will never come back :(

So sorry to hear this. :-( I have heard that putting a litter tray outside can help attract them to a familiar smell. Hope she comes back soon.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 21:45

I've left a window open and will sleep near it tonight in case she comes back but what if she never does? I'm absolutely gutted. If anything happens I'll never forgive myself :(

She'll be back, she knows where her slaves hang out!

TheSassyAssassin · 22/12/2017 21:47

Ok don't panic. My previous cat escaped after a move within 2 days and I was also beside myself. You know she's very attached to you so if it was out front, stand out front and keep calling and shaking treats. If she's nearby she'll home in on your voice. DD and DH can still be looking but you stay close and keep your voice nice and bright. She'll come home!

Want2beme · 22/12/2017 21:51

She'll be back StewPots. She's just having a good look around and checking things out. They're little buggers when they get engrossed.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 21:53

I've been calling her for over an hour :( I'm properly in tears here, I'm so worried about her.

StewPots · 22/12/2017 21:57

My friend said I should have let her out as she's an outdoors cat but how could I when she hasn't been spayed??

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 22/12/2017 22:01

Our boy did this, the first time he did it DP went out shaking treats at every neighbours garden gate, he was in the garden four houses down. After that he came home safely each time.

Can you shake her favourite treats and call her?

I used to do this from a high up window in the house so I could see if he was around and that my call would be carried.

My neighbours must think I’m utterly mad!

Vinorosso74 · 22/12/2017 22:13

Everything crossed for her return here. I've Also heard the litter tray contents and those of the vacuum can help.
Come home Heidi!

StewPots · 22/12/2017 22:23

I've been standing and calling for ages :( shaking her Dreamies and banging a fork on her little bowl. We've put the litter tray out for her.

I'm just so upset what if I never see her again?? And she's got this murmur and that makes me worry that she's frightened somewhere or stuck :(

OP posts:
TheSassyAssassin · 22/12/2017 22:30

You will Stew...she'll be relishing her chance to explore but she'll be back. I know it's hard. Had the same sense of panic as you have now but she's bonded to you and she's been happy and safe with you and fed so she'll be back!

StewPots · 22/12/2017 22:33

I really hope so :( I'm sleeping on the sofa tonight with the window open so I can hear her if she comes back crying out side but there's literally no trace of her at all. And because she's been a stray I worry she will go too far and not find her way back
